View Full Version : Drakes Glass Gardens Park v2 FINAL- +Comments Please!+Updated Final Park and some new

11-10-2004, 08:44 AM
I have reached the limit of my computer with my first Sandbox park - Drake's Glass Gardens (version 2 FINAL) I tried adding another ride and it was just too much for my machine to handle. Good news is I could still open the park and have managed to get 1500+ peeps. For the final version I've added several buildings including a glass covered area around the Go-Kart entrance. (Need to load the park and look at it firsthand. If you want to open it you need to globally open all the rides. (wouldn't hurt to check if they were tested. Assign new Mechs and Employees to areas you want. Adjust any prices.) The park is surrounded by tall walls of glass with glass walls to section off parts of the park and melds a variety of styles and areas. It has dueling LIM's that both go down into a canyon and one goes down into a glass covered mall and does a loop inside the mall. Racing bobsleds, go karts, and many more rides. There are themed areas for rides and as sections of the park with the over all theme of Greenhouses and gardens.

I added a few new pics and the new final park file in zip. Please come back to let me know what you thought of the park

HOw do you expand your park beyond the 254 x 254 boundries?

I used the park size that the Sandbox started with. It seemed large enough to me to give me a big enough canvas for my first time (and it prooved to be just the right size) I guess that's the 254x254

I've opened the park and all the rides and just let it run overnight and have had 1500+ peeps in the park! (Of course I didn't train any Mechanics or do ANY adjusting or updating to the rides so my park rating after a couple hours plunged to zero. About half the rides were being ridden when I checked the next morning yet most of the thrill rides and ones around them didn't even have peeps in the queue. (Since they are on the far side of the park maybe it takes longer for the peeps to get to those in any numbers). I had the most peeps on the Mine ride coaster and the two Transportation rides (The longest rides in the park). I had to go to work that morning so I didn't get a chance to look around or fix anything before I shut it down. But I expected it to have come to a screeching halt with that many peeps and I didn't see any slow down any more than the gackiness and hesitation I have had since I've had about 1/4 of the park was constructed.

Answer to question on expanding your park size. I don't think I can, after the fact of starting and saving my park, but if you start in the Scenario builder you can, I guess buy more land around the borders to expand. save the park and then open it in Sandbox mode to create it.

I'll post the link to my newest update to the park this week with many more buildings in it.

Tried viewing your park but the lag was just too much and I quit without taking a better look :(

Load it in the scneario editor, then there is a button under MAP, and it lets you change the size of the land, but then you have to claim it.

The original sandbox shouldn't be 254 x 254 as it's not as large as can be made in the scenario editor which is a top size of 254 x254

i have a host that you can upload the .zip file to or i can and post the link and you can change the above link, you'll get over 100kb a second download speed. i have unlimited bandwidth through my host i pay 20 dollars a month for so i could care less to host the file.

unfortunately i can't play it. here's why. i load the park (takes a while) and can't scroll up/down/right/left. PLUS i can't click anything, (exit, etc.) not sure why. it looks likes it's loaded with stuff. could be why i can't do anything. i closed out of it eventually. this happened twice. i dare not try loading it again. too bad, as from what i saw, it looked good.
