View Full Version : Gameron "Sliced and Diced" for Speed

This may be a good time for all you heavily themed park builders to read up for a second. As some (or many?) of you know, I've been working on an extensive theme park based on the top games in the industry. The park is about 70% complete, but even on a 9700 Pro, 2.5 GHZ machine, and more hard drive space then NASA (LOL) - the park is slowly dying in speed. At this point, even with options turned down, coasters are beginning to get ultra-choppy, and so on.

What I decided to do, is release "sections" or individual rides from the park as a series, instead of one whole big-ass theme park. I'll eventually release it if some future patch helps the frame rate situation.

I should have Resident Evil and . HALO ready to go in a day or two.

Just wanted to bring this up so others who are going all out on a heavily themed park do not become frustrated half-to-three quarters through their work. You may have a top of the line machine, and may never run into choppy performance, but others are going to want to experience your park too.

There's some cool pics & a video posted at Pumpers site, it's not from the new stuff he's working on, but you can get a good idea of the high quality of his work

Thanks Marnetmar - nothing better then meeting you here (and JT!).

Both rides (when completed) will be up this week.

Don't want to show too much of RE..

Those pics are excellent Pumper, I can't wait to check out the Resident Evil ride, that one's just my style. I'll be getting the game soon.
It's good to see you here too Pumper.

I've been following the progress of your video game park since you announced it. It's too bad the game struggles with lots of themed rides. I was looking forward to seeing the whole park at once. Those screens look sweet, but besides hosting the rides alone, will you eventually put the entire park up? I have a high end machine. ;)

Thanks X - I eventually will, but first I'm praying Frontier tweaks the program in some future patch that will help frame rates. I don't want to put more time into an entire park, as I can see the lag hitting big time - and I still had about 3 weeks more to put in to it.

For now, I'll just release a series of mini parks (or single rides) uprooted directly from the big park.
