View Full Version : Dreamworld recreation download

I recently completed a recreation of Dreamworld, a theme park located in Queensland, Australia and decided to put the download here in the Atari forums for the rest of the world to see what an Australian theme park looks like.

Dreamworld is Australia's largest themepark but probably doesn't compare in size to the larger American counterparts. However it is still a great park with some good rides. For example, the Tower of Terror is basically an exact replica of Superman The Escape at Six Flags Magic Mountain but only has one track instead of two. It once held the fastest and tallest coaster in the world when Superman at SFMM did, but now according to RCDB is has dropped to 3rd place.

Sharing the Tower of Terrors tower is the Giant Drop, which I believe still remains the tallest freefall drop ride in the world at 39 storeys above the ground at the top.

While they are the only two international record holding rides in the park, Dreamworld has a number of rollercoasters and rides which make it a great fun park to visit.

Unfortunately, a low framerate due to the amount of scenery makes it difficult to view and ride the rides at high graphic levels, but if some of the masses of trees around the sides are deleted or the vegetation draw distance and quality is turned down it is improved to a much better level.

I hope you enjoy the park, and all comments would be appreciated (especially good ones as it will encourage me with my probable next park recreation, Cedar Point).

The download is accessible from my website, however lack of bandwith will be the problem on geocities. Is it possible to add an attachment with forum posts? (I am only newly registered)

nice looking park. I haven't opened it up to play yet, but is that a steamboat I spy over there in the lake?

Yeah it is a steamboat. I originally built in on land and saved the building and then placed it on the water. For some reason however it didn't place nicely on the water and so if you look at it in the park from the view of guests you will notice that it floats a considerable height in the air above the water, but it looks fine from above.

This must be as the park was a couple of years ago, as the Thunderbolt is now gone. I can't find the rapids in the pic, did you put it in?

Also, Wipeout is one of only 3 in the world.

Dreamwould is great!
