View Full Version : How to do scenarios such as Island Hopping.

The scenarios I am referring to are those in which you need a coaster that meets specific requirements for Apprentice, 2 of them and pay off your loan for Entrepenuer(sp?), and 3 of them for Tycoon.

How you do these:

First, build some paths, and your essentials such as bathrooms, food, and drink.

Then build a few thrill rides and crank the prices relatively high so you make $$$.

After that, build one CHEAP BUT EXCITING coaster that satisfies the tycoon requirements, while keeping the price high. One way that I figure out how to price is to take the excitement rating and charge 50 cents less than it. SAVE THE DESIGN.

Now let your park run on FFF for a little while. Make a few thousand dollars and pay off some of your loans.

Save your game. This will allow you to revert to it if the next step doesn't give you enough $$$.

Then start demolishing rides. With any luck, you should be able to get enough $$$ to pay off your loans. If you don't, revert to your previous save and let the park run for a little while longer before you demolish it.

Pay off the loans.

There, you have now just completed the hardest objective.

Now that you paid off your loans, you can take them out again. Take out a lot of loans and simply build 2 copies of the coaster you built before (or 3 if you demolished it). You don't even need to open them.

This should Tycoon the level.

What is the fun of making 3 of the same rollercoaster. I always build different coasters and never have the same type of coaster.

That was one of the downers on Island hopping, that you had to resort to trash and cash. I did manage to spread onto the second island with coasters, monorail and some extra flats, but never got to go to all the islands before the gold hat.

This one I will return to and extend the monrail out to all the islands and theme them differently, with thrill on one easy on another etc.

I'm only just starting this one and I'm going to make 3 coasters and have maybe a pirate themed coaster, adventure and another sort of theme, i like to centralise my themeing on the enviroment. But I won't have the same coaster, I don't delete rides unless they make little or no money for me. I've managed to do every scenario before this one without deleting a single ride (that makes me money and had a popularity over 15%). I still manage to pay off loans and still come out with an overall happy park.
