Finally we were able to convince the crew to stay on site and off the rides long enough to get the last details and landscaping completed.

Mall Marinarus is finally in operation, All shops are open, staff fully trained and maintenance and janitorial staff are hard at work keeping things ready guests.

The park is nearing final negotiations on The Ridge design and attraction options. "core" (park center) isea's ar being discussed, s well as planning for remaining section fillers.

A few smallish childrens rides are being moved in for the time being around the Mall, so parents can shop or relax and keep an eye on the kids from the mall's balconies. We have also given people the option to enter Galactica right by the mall as well, and they can then continue on to the rest of the park from there as well as the main entrance. Please remember which you used to save a hike upon departure.

"Plans" for Galactica structures are now also aailable. While plantings and objects are included, path design and various shop positions are up to individual interior deigners.

Galactica can be placed in "Parks" and played as a sandbox, and can then be loaded from ther to scenario editor if desired.

The park with the mall is now ready here: http://www.modstothemax.net/community/index.php?topic=8414.0
The park is pretty much complete except for "The Ridge" feel free to tinker and share if you want. I will contiue to "grow" this, but unless another brainstorm hits, I think it's pretty wel set.

Park is 154 x 152
Date re-set to May of year one
1755 guests
rating 514
FPS 5 to 12 FPS depending on view
"running" on a 1.6 ghz P4 with
Nvidia Geforce4 FX5200 w/128mg ram.

Most difficult wall and floor areas being tackled first helped the rest move along at a fairly decent clip. See the original post for the last "teaser" shot uploaded.

I set the roof by first using the tile containing the "highest" point, the hot dog stand, then looking straight down, the rest of the roof went fairly quickly.

What's holding the roof up?

Lack of money? :haha: This is an early shot of the exterior being started, doing the roof first helped me track where te walls would finish lining up.

Its coming along , Skipper. This and the demolished one were rather unique uses of the themery style, instead of being the straight forward "bubble" domey look. I like watching this progress. Let me know if you EVER get an answer from David B. as to if they will fix the height restriction on stalls. But alas, as I have only seen 3 of us actually vocalize our discontent with this limit, I don't think it will ever be changed. I even got flamed for even posting about it, oh yeah, and called an idiot. Ha ha ha ha.....

Thanx, Bitter, I'm hoping that by seeing the "progress" as well as the limitations imposed by the stall height restriction that maybe more people would start to express their concerns. After all, this "structure"? isn't that large in the overall park scheme.

As for hearing from David B. or anyone from Frontier/Atari, I don't hold out any hopes of replies or comments.

here I sat thinking without my hat that I was the only one that was upset with the height restrictions on stalls; so who do I call?

To the Skipper: very nice - I just recently discoverd that I like using the metal walls- but I have to start with the roof first cause there is no 1/2 wall or 1/2 wall or the like. I also tried using a fence for my 1/3 wall but it wouldn' t let me build the wall on top. Oh well. What you have going is truly awesome.

You don't have to start with the roof, I did it to make sure of the clearance needed for the highest stalls, otherwise I may have had to do it twice. You can "make a "third" or half height wall, though using the left shift and "burying" the first sections on ground. Thanx for the comments too, BTW.

oh yeah; the left shift - pasted a post it on my screen so as not to forget - again... thanx

01-16-2005, 03:20 PM
You're welcome! While some things just use left/right the same, objects use right and left shift differently.

01-17-2005, 06:18 PM
Oy! Excellent work there, Skipper- I never tried the Right Shift - I'll have to be a-tryin' it tonight!

Very cool.

I downloaded and went touring in the park. The Mall is a very unique and interesting creation.

I am glad you enjoyed it, and thanx for the comments!!

Edit: Found this, had to bring it forward for the new folks. The first "Mall" in RCT 3 , and the first Sci Fi park done in game.

No cheats, no C S, none were around back then. The structure pack pictured is still available at: http://members.fortunecity.com/scourge/galactic.htm I think it's on the fifth page of the park images. The link takes you to see everything.
