OK, what does it take to satisfy Joe Sluggerball and his desire to see an Adventure Themed park area?

I had no problem with Clint Bushton and the Sci-Fi area. But the meter of Joe's opinion of the park never comes off zero.

This is the last thing I need to complete the Tycoon level of this scenario.

hi ooo my first post how exciting.....anyways

it took me ages to do this one......but i deleted everything in park and made the area right at the front gate.
un select all the themes other then adventure!!! place the thrill rides.......and the shops...... and pile on the items that you can ad to the park like the animatronic bits........give him track to the rides and a few stop places near items to look at and back out the gate

mind you he did this 3 times before leaving....

watch the arrowns they go white when hes done a section

thats what i did anyways......

i finished the games scenarios with in 2 half weeks not bad i feel......tho ill be honest yes i cheated big time.....but i dont have the time otherwise.....

I had problems with Clint Bushton just leaving the park and not getting to the fireworks. Finally, when he arrived, I picked him up, placed him at the waypoint closest to the fireworks and started the fireworks. That did the trick.

Getting the waypoint correct for the VIP is crucial in this scenario. I fainally got Joe Sluggerball to like my "adventure" section of the park. I moved it up near the front pf the park and set 2 waypoints in that area. It was also his 3rd visit (so might be thirt time's a charm) but complete this scenario last night.

Mountain Rescue and Money pit were a snal.

Speaking of cheats. Are you using the PRIMA Offical Game Guide? I've found it invaluable.

Hope this helps.

GAH! *bangs head on keyboard* HELP!!

I freely admit I'm an idiot, but I just can't satsify these VIPs! I've won everything else and it's just this one Gold level that's keeping me from the final scenario... (Which, with my luck, has another theming requirement :( )

I've gone so far as to level the entire park (took a while) and build three separate areas for each theme (Sci Fi, Adventure, and Generic). I didn't build scenic stuff in those areas that wasn't specific to them (although I had to build a few generic rides), made sure all of the music & entrance/exits were set right, and set waypoints so that the VIP had to enjoy the scenery. I made a mini-garden in each that they had to walk around it that was nothing but plants and animatronics.. I planted lots of themed plants around the rest of the area... and still nothing! :weird:

I -really- don't want to use the 'delete it all and build a mini-park' to win the scenario, but I've run out of ideas...

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

It doesn't take a large area to satisy the VIPeeps. In the adventure area, I ended up with 2 rides (Phoenix Twister and Pirate Ship), A couple of the proper theme stands, and lots of Adventure scenery. That's it. Set the way point to the 2 rides. Now, from what I'm gathering, they may have to visit up to 3 times before they are satisfied.

Hope this helps.

Finally installed patch #2 (after an unbelievable amount of effort trying to find out how) and suddenly the two VIPs started seeing all the themes. Wow, now I'm on the last level and didn't even have to cheat.
If you can a) get the new patch and b) get it to work, maybe this will help. I don't really know. I'm just SO glad to be done this level.......
[oh no. someone wants to see a fireworks display on the last level.... pray for me....]

Patch # 2 didn't make a bit of difference in this senario for me.
VIPS park opinion meter doesn't move at all, period.
They never actually "see" the scenery - the game just says they are "thinking"
The senario is unbeatable in its current state.

Here you see Bushton has rode 3 themed rides and 1 coaster "Escape From Planet Earth" and was pathed to numerous sci fi animatronics and scenery and his opinion meter never budged at all.

Dear naugagamer,

You need to make sure that you are using scenery and not just rides to accomplish this task. They want to be taken to a themed area! Give them food stands, scenery, and rides all with that theme, and you will have no problem.

Agreed, you really don't have to rip out much on this park to make him do the dance. I did replace the paths in there origional place but left the topiaries, use the Sci theme stuff and rides, what would you expect if you where to pay to enter this park?.

I left most of my parks close to the origional look but I did tweek some, shifted the ground, made tunnels under things, replanted some, ripped out lame rides and coasters in a few cases. I'm on 18, it took some time, but I will say it is doable. I had some doubts before patch 2 but now I will say that most of the scenarios are faily forgiving. I'm going to take it slow in 18 and try not to rip up anything that I don't have to. At some point I will revisit these parks and turn them into showplaces just to see if I can get them profitable and popping with peeps.:D

I completed scenario 18 yesterday.

I, too, plan to go back to some of the parks (have done so with one) and keep adding. Be a little different when not under the gun to make a scenario objective.

Then, who knows, with what I learned, I might go thru them all again under a new careeer. The other option is to re do the scenarios under the same career (will have all the coasters available).

OK, I FINALLY finished La-La Land at the tycoon level. I had a great deal of money from letting the park run and run (at one point I was turning $700-$1000 profit a month). I had all SF scenery for Bushton and after many, many visits I had it down to he would see only that scenery and rides and he still wasn't happy. At some point I started planting SF trees and eventually he was happy.

So I started planting trees for Joe Sluggerball. By the time he next arrived, his path was literally lined with adventure trees with many more behind them. (I also had a battalion of security guards, janitors and mechanics in his area). I built a wall so that he wouldn’t see SF scenery off in the distance. Seriously.

Between Bushton and Sluggerball's areas I planted 16 bazillion trees. (Or more precisely, $7645 worth of trees in a four month span--that's an awful lot even if some of them are Hydroponic Clown ferns, Humming Pigeon Catchers and Neptunian Purse Snatchers). He was happy. So you need more than scenery. You need tons of it.

Also, watching Joe during his last visit I noticed that after he visited his area, (and his park opinion was maxed out. He left his are (giving me a heart attack) and rode a roller coaster in the SF area without any loss of park satisfaction. I guess once they're happy, they're happy.

I finally finished La-La land!! After not satisfying the VIP about a million times, I finally did it!

Ok, so first do the Space themed area and you can put the Stratosphere mix master display next to it. Make sure the fireworks display is on flat ground and easily accessable and make sure there are paths all around it. When the VIP is in your park change the time of the mix master display so that it starts when he is there. Pick him up and put him on the path near the display. Keep picking him up and moving him to paths near the display until it says that he is watching a mix master display.
For the space themed area just have a small area of your park (i put my area at the back of my park) devoted to space themed scenery items, bins, lamps, benches and rides. There are many appropriately themed rides eg Space Rings. I satisfied this VIP on the first go, so I found this themed area pretty easy.
Now, for the adventure themed area, this VIP took forever to convince! I ended up selling most of the non-adventure themed rides in my park to raise enough money to do up this area. I walled off an area and the back of my park (deleting the space themed area) with a pirate themed fence. I put in the Pirate Ship and the Phoenix Twister ride (make sure you have this one). I changed the path to sand and got rid of EVERYTHING that wasn't adventure themed - even the trees. I put in pretty much all the adventure scenery. I put in themed bins, benches, themed food shops eg Moorish Kebabs. Then I filled the remaining space with themed trees. I changed the VIPs path to make sure he would look at and visit everything in my themed area. When he arrived in the park and picked him up and plonked him down near the entrance of my themed area. He went through and looked at the scenery, shops and went on the Pirate Ship. His park satisfaction bar remained at 0%, however. Anyway, he continued going through the area and then went on the Phoenix Twister. This sent his satisfaction to 100%!! He finished looking at the themed area. I picked him up and put him down near the park entrance, he left, and I was a tycoon!!

sorry, by 'park satisfaction', i meant 'park opinion'

and yeah, once it's up 100%, it wont really go down :)

oh, also. for the adventure themed area i put the mix master display called pirate... (something i cant remember) next to it

I've tried this one so many times. My problem is that I don't have enough themed rides for space and adventure. I have enough decorations, but not themed rides. Should that matter? I've got my research set to $350 on only shops, thrill rides, junior rides and gentle rides and yet it keeps coming up with rides and stuff NOT in adventure or space.

If you read this thread, then you might beat the scenario ok.

Cut off an area from your park, and as soon as Joe Sluggerball arrives, move him there. Build a pirate ship in your cut off area. Surround the pirate ship with palm trees.

He'll love it. Make sure you make him keep going on the pirate ship ride until he leaves.

He'll be happy, and you can finally beat the map.

I've attached two screenshots of an example of an adventure theme that will please Joe Sluggerball.

For Clint Bushton, just make him walk around a path with neon glowing lights.
