View Full Version : Scenario 5-Fright Night Strategies

This is really quick now that patch 2 is available. The play balance is too easy.

Put in those information booth, ATM, toilets (though you probably don't need to in order to win.)

Pay down the loan.

Hire a couple mechanics. I dressed my in the red. Hire a couple Janitors. I unifromed them in the skull costumes to keep with the themeing. Raise the price on the already in park rides.

Along the main walkway, add the hot dog stand, the spooky shakes, and witches hats. In that first area on the main plateau add the ferris wheel ride (monster wheel?) and the other thrill ride. Also add an inverted impulse and as you win levels, increase the circuits.

This took me to April 5 to win in the first year on my second time with Patch 2. Originally it took me to year 3. (I like it without patch 2 much better...)

i just bought this game this labor day weekend, and i finished this level in a similar way. i just bought 'the dip' rollercoaster. then put some devils and stuff around it to boost it's excitement. for the length requirement, i just stretched the track out and added an extra hump. i increased the speed to 99mph, and as soon as i did that i won the level while in test mode. lol.

i have the expansion but haven't had a chance to look at it yet. the normal game is too fun right now.

Strange. For some odd reason this one was a bear for me. Everytime it would rain the peeps would leave the lines to my rides hence limiting my money intake. It rained alot. Usually just in time for a ride cycle to end (before new peeps would load up).

Not sure how long it took me to finish, but alot longer then all the other ones I played up to that point.

Yeah, it literally rained every day for several months, the peeps didn't ride the rides and I lost most of my money even when I did close to what this strategy guide suggests.

Ok i don't know if someone still read these posts, but if so, i can'T get the damn 600$/month income to get the tycoon level in that scenario. It's ALWAYS raining and the peeps don't go in my rides at all. I made sure there was plenty of toilets and stalls so my peeps enter my rides, I tried the "close/reopen" park trick, I even tried to lower all the original prices for rides, and the peeps STILL don'T enter them... any idea??

For $600 income, you can focus on Thrill rides and Coasters. Also get new peeps in by advertising the park in all papers. Ensure that you have the latest patches of RCT also. Patch 2 is a must to make things work right. For a greater choice of flat rides get Wild, then Soaked, and build the Tagada and Tilt a Whirl and Meteorite and Giant Slide.

I had a big problem with the rain , and peeps not riding the rides, so ,,,, after getting a monthly income of 575 (ooo so close) I paused the game in a moment of desperation , basically every one sitting down I picked them up and made them find their friends then unpaused the game..... i won the level!!!

I found this not complex at all, just build and build and charge the high ticket prices on the really exciting coasters as i recall.

If you are having problems with money issues like me rename one of your guest John D Rockefeller and you get extra money and you can do this unlimmitted times. I had the same trouble with this scenerio with the rain and the peeps not riding, but the cheat helped me alot.

i have done everything mentioned here, but if i make some money maybe 200 for 2 months then the next months i lose it again, because it rains en peeps dont go on the rides. Also after 6 month i always get a fine witch says the most disappointing park and i lose 800, so i keep losing money and i cant expaned my park:s

Are you completly patched?

There were problems with this scenario before patching. Try more covered rides during the rain. You could leave those at a higher price. Peeps seem to like covered rides during the rain.

i have searched a little on this forum and i found that a patch is something to repair bugs, but i don't know and don't find the place where a can get them and how i have to install them and that kind of stuf.

Start with what version of RCT3 do you own, when did you buy it? Is it part of the new packaged with Soaked or Wild sets? If so chances are it is patched. If not you should head to the Atari site and look for the patches there.

the version i have is the dutch version and it's the normal one without expantion, i have it for like 2 years now, we bouth it for my little brother but now am playing it:d. And i have never used a path before.

Definitely go to the Atari website and get a patch, then retry the scenario. That should fix it.

Cripes, are you still here? Welcome back. :)

The coaster that's already there has an excitement level well above 7, so you only need to fit one more.

im having the same problem.. cant make the $600 in one month from the rides. my game isnt patched and i dont think there is a patch for this because im using windows vista. i dont have any expansions either. also i got this game around the time that it first came out. oh yea, if anyone responds to this to help me, please pm me because i might forget where this post is lol.

07-24-2008, 09:22 AM
You can patch the game even though you are using Vista. What you won't be able to do is install the expansions successfully if the base game is patched.

07-24-2008, 09:27 AM
I am not sure but can't windows vista run a game emulating XP? But even then the game shoudl be patched no matter what. Patches were seldom scenario specific for the problems that were in the game, but once they dealt with mechanics of the game problems it elevated the game to be more winnable in many instances.

I note that without the patch it took three years of game play to win, and once patched it was winnable in the first year.

Sites like Gamespot, or CNET have patches stored on their servers.

TO win the game the strategy remains building that second coaster. You don't need a lot of rides, just a few and you can raise their prices as you go to help increase revenue per ride.

i patched it and it did wonders for my game! they actually ride the rides now! lol. thanks.

In case someone have problem patching like me, close or sell all the Information Booth and Umbrella can solve the bug that people don't get on the rides. They can't buy map and umbrella then, but at least you can finish the scenario. This bug also appears on other scenarios that rain, same solution as well.

I have done everything said here, but I am still short on ride income. Is there a way to boost the ride income? (cheats, etc.)

They can't buy map and umbrella then, but at least you can finish the scenario. This bug also appears on other scenarios that rain, same solution as well.

Just to clarify: if you haven't patched the game, you may encounter a raining bug in this scenario. The bug occurs when it is raining. You will find that all the peeps lining up at the rides but do not get on the rides even if they are empty. They will even complain the quening of the rides sucks, even when it is their own fault not getting on the rides! As a result, it will be virtually impossible to meet the ride income requirement of the objective.

Simply patching the game will solve this bug. If you can't patch it due to version problem like I had previously, simply close all the Information Booth and Umbrella and the problem can be solved. (Because of this, I suspect the bug is caused by peeps who lining up for rides want to buy umbrella when it is raining but they do not want to get out of the lines.)
