The roof next to the stained glass looks out of porportion. It''s like 5 squares wall and 10 of a roof. relate that to a normal wall and roof and you'll figure the roof is too big :)

The rest looks awesome though

I'm not sure what you are talking about. If you could reference a particular picture that would help. From conception to building, every possible detail was thought out including the overall size of the building. Please give more detail toward your comment and I will be more than happy to provide further information.

Ahh... I think I finally get what he's talking about.

The roof above the large stained-glass window on the front of the cathedral has about 10 horizontal 'roof edges' as opposed to a fewer amount of flat wall pieces that make up the front of the cathedral.

That doesn't necessarily make it "out of proportion" or "too big". That roof is composed of the Steep Roof pieces, and those pieces are half the span of a normal roof... requiring twice as many pieces as the standard sloped roof.

This is absolutely stunning. Breathtaking. Five stars.

What I meant was:

http://img232.exs.cx/img232/6438/grandcastle4lijntjes8vw.jpg

Red lines show the roof, green lines the main wall size... IMO the roof is too big for the building.. Making the building about 3 or 4 tiles higher would improve this...

HOLY CRAP! That is absolutley amazing CP_Diva! That castle is HUGE. Love the stained glass idea and the overbanked turn coming out of the front of the cathedral. I don't think I even want to know how long this took to finish! I really can't wait to see more from you!

Ya know, this reminds me of a scene the the Movie "Amadeus" after hearing Motzart's first opera commissioned for him:

Motzart: "What would sire recommend?"
Emperor: "Too many notes... Just remove a few and it'll be fine."
Motzart: "Which few did you have in mind?"

Considering the building pieces available, and the amount of work it takes to build something like that, I think it looks great - especially the stained glass idea. Nice touch!

Does it help you to know that the building sits on a cliff face, and that is not the full height of the wall? The back side of that wall is significantly taller, considering 2/3 of it is buried. You're seeing just what is above ground from that perspective.

Take a look at the 'Castle Gorge' picture. The area with the two smaller stained-glass windows is directly behind the window at the front of the building. That is the full height of the wall. Hopefully, that meets your proportion requirements.

Hmm must have missed that >_> You're right though, looks much better in that pic...

Now I've got nothing to give any constructive criticism, so only 1 thing left to do:

10/10

Although I really want some daytime pics :)

Just finished watching the video and WOW! That video was freaking awesome! Great choice of music too. The beginning of the video was like a real life movie! :D Anyways, this creation makes my jaw drop, very very nicley done, the scenery couldn't get any better and the coaster itself is very nicely designed. I can't wait to see more from you.

I'd just like to say thank you to everyone for the positive feedback on the video. It was a long, slow process... but I definetley feel like it was worth it. I learned a lot, and there's plenty of room for improvement on the part of my video-creation skills. While I feel there's a great leap in quality from my promo for Six Flags Gotham City to Diablo, I'm still learning. Producing this video gave me a new look at things.

I had a wonderful project to work with. Diva came up with an excellent ride, and started construction on the scenery. After several late-night 'creative cram sessions'; numerous changes in the direction of the overall feel; a million "what if"'s (That huge stained glass window started as a "what if" -- and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out); and a lot of frustration, laughs, and about 4 cases of Mountain Dew :haha:, the project morphed into what you see here today.

I had a great time just being a part of this project, and hopefully.. you'll see another collaborative effort like this again soon. Thank you again for all of the positive comments.. it really made all of the blood, sweat and tears that went into this worth it.

Just to let you guys know.. we're already tossing around a couple ideas for the next project. Right now, it's more or less coming down to what direction we want to go in next. We've done steel, do we do it again? Do we move on to a wooden? Do we do something completely out of the norm?

We're working at it... once we figure out where to turn next, it's more or less the process of getting our ideas into the game fast enough. :D

Wow, it is very nice castle u got out there, and it is freakin huge!
Brilliant idea that u got the colours glass panel windows.
it will be more easy for everyone if the glass panel size on quarter square or multishaped so that we can make it smaller or enable us to make a story picture like zelda intro in one of the game.

one of best ;)

will check the video soon as i got really dry eyes (tried man after my park - tower park)

Rather than posting the screenshots, I am providing Diablo to you in a park format so you may explore Diablo at your leisure. This is one section of a much larger project! Changes to the area surrounding Diablo may/will be made at a later time. Also please note, that the included music file (.mp3 format) should be moved to the appropriate folder on your computer (My Music\RCT3). Please leave any problems, comments or other suggestions you find related to Diablo.

I thought this deserved a bump back up to page one. Perhaps posted at an odd hour and got lost in the shuffle. I'm surprised that only a small handful of people have downloaded this to experience on their own after the overwhelming positive feedback from the video.

So, yeah. Download. Ride it. Love it. :p

Took a walk through the downloaded Diablo using my brand new 9600XT *gloats*

Gotta reiterate my five star rating! Very well deserved! The queue alone is worth 5 stars! My favorite part has got to be when the train passes thru the hole in the wall during the queue. Brilliant!

And the coaster! While I miss the framerate of your vid, the personal ride was outstanding!

Thanks for offering up the file to play with!

Thank you very much for your overwhelming feedback! It's great to know that everyone is enjoying this ride as much as I a great time making it. I was messing around with Coaster Designer tonight and I think I found a flyer design with some possibilities, so we'll see where this goes!

@Simbolism: Congrats on the new computer! That should make your next projects easier (although I'm not sure what you were running earlier).

It's using the various scenery items present in the game. Note, the fog was completed BEFORE the particle-editing "trick" was established!

@worm: Thank you for your compliments on Diablo. This is only one ride out of a much larger park. But keep an eye out for more to come!

I love it. I think everything from the design of the que to the ride itself is amazing. I even like the fact that the layout is set up in proper Bollinger and Mabillard format, just like their real inverted coasters, ex. Raptor and Ceader Point. Though the only thing I thought that didn't make sense is the brake run. You should try and get rid of some of thoose firepits and create a way for the mechanic to come by and do maintance. Yes I know it's not really all that necessary but I thought it would be a nice detail feature to have.

02-14-2005, 09:20 PM
Wow, I just finished exploring the park and I have got to say, it is absolutely fantastic! Now, there is this very minor detail that I noticed and thought was completley brilliiant, and that is the little control room you added in the station house where the employee is supposed to push the buttons, it was SO very creative and original! I loved the fact that you used the little wooden photo spot and the garbage can to make it look just like a real one! BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

WOW! Just took a ride on Diablo. Fantastic! Beautiful theming job and fantastic coaster.

I have a suggestion, if I may. I would have loved to hear the music during more of the ride. This can easily be accomplished by hiding the "elevator ride" on the grounds and setting it to play the same music. I've done this with my rides. My Space Port has 4 "speakers" incorporated into the ride. 2 have music and the other 2 have sound effects. I've heard that the expansion will have real speakers we can place, which will be really cool!

Anyway, once again...Great job!!!

This bit of themeing was actually yet another inspirational thought from our friend "ytivarg". We were messing around with stuff when we first got the game and this is just something that has stuck with all major productions from here on out. I'm so glad that so many people seem to like it though. I wish they had "real" control booths" you could plop down on a ride, but this has to work for now.

As for updates to this park, Diablo may just become a park in itself. It seems my computer doesn't like to run Diablo and anything else in the park. I put a Flyer in with no other themeing and it crashed. So I'm going to explore some more avenues with this and I'll keep everyone updated!

Hi everyone. I'm hoping to bring back an original park...or at least give it an update. This will seem rather random and out-dated, yet it's something that I have always wanted to finish.

Since the release of custom supports and the plethora of other custom scenery sets, I want to give my Diablo park file a much-needed update. Sadly I have lost the park file and have been unable to relocate it.

I am calling on you, fellow members of the forums, for your assistance. If anyone still has the park file residing on your hard drives, I would be grateful to retrieve it back, so I can give it a proper finish. If you know of anyone that downloaded the file and still has it, please pass this message along.

I know most of you have since moved on, yet this is a last resort. Thank you in advance for any assistance you give.
