Rock N Roller Coaster Preview Video - 7mb (http://rapidshare.de/files/3059394/rnr_preview.wmv.html)

Sorry for the lack of updates. But to show that I haven't forgot about this project, here is a video of the prelimnary run through of Rock N Roller Coaster.

Let me know if there is a problem with the layout, or if something just looks odd to you. All comments are welcome. Thanks again, and I AM still working on this park.

After a break and starting over from scratch, I've finally decided to post some screenshots of my progress, so that I can get some feedback on things that I may have forgotten, or simply look bad, etc. So any comments and/or suggestions would be great. Thanks again.

The only thing I've changed in MGM, thats really not there is the Indy Adventure. I made it a rollercoaster with good theaming, musical score, and some ride events.

Shot of the coaster as your on the loading platform:

Once again, any input is great. I know that there are a few spacing issues, but because RCT3 won't let you do diagnals, I'm kind of stuck with what I have. Thanks again.

05-07-2005, 10:28 PM
That all looks really nice to me JASaxman_cm, I'm not real famaliar with the layout of this park, but I must say you've done a Very nice job on all the buildings, themeing etc. Keep up the good work

05-07-2005, 10:30 PM
Wow Tower of Terror looks great, best TOT yet :D

05-07-2005, 10:32 PM
I wish there really WAS an Indy Rollercoaster at MGM... I always get jealous of Disneyland when I go to Disneyworld because they have an Indy ride and all we have is a stupid stunt show....(not that it's stupid, I like it, it's just I'd rather have a ride)

Anyways, great recreation of Sunset Blvd/ MGM Studios! The Great Movie ride building is dead on!

Are you going to put any custom scenery into the Rockin Roller Coaster for the street signs? Since you can now put in texture with the objects, I think it would be worth a try.

05-07-2005, 10:38 PM
Holy Son Of A Mother!!!!!!!!!!That is fantastic. I love it!!!!!!

05-07-2005, 10:40 PM
I playing with the Texture importer now. I'm trying to import a Hollywood Tower Hotel Sign, as well as the Donut, etc in Rock N Rollercoaster. I kinda hoping that Soaked' has some features for light color changes, etc. But here's to wishing!

05-07-2005, 10:48 PM
YOU KNOW ME FROM THE LAST TIME! MAJOR FAN! So wat rides are all there? Do u have The Great Movie Ride? is that in ur plans? About how much do u have done!?:D EXCITED EXCITED! YES u came back!!!

05-07-2005, 10:58 PM
Here's quick run down on where things stand right now.

The ride buildings for The Great Movie ride, are done, and have the track layout in them. I starting on the scenary, but I'm looking at doing my own to make it better, and actually fun to ride.

RNR, is about 80% finsished. It uses the Corkscrew coater, as does the real one, and the track layout is as accurate as RCT3 will let me. It pulls the same G's, is the same ride length long, same amount of cars, etc.

TOT, is about 80% finished as well. The 5th dim, and 1st floor are built and have theming, but I'm also looking at redoing this in an exteranl editor. I"m also not sure about how to do ride vehicals for this. I"m also working on importing a Hollywood Tower Hotel sign.

All the rides and buildings from MGM' will be in hear. I do need some idea's about what to use for the New Stunt Car Show. Rollercoaster with City themeing?? Anyway, thanks for the comments.

05-07-2005, 11:00 PM
I LOVE IT!!! You are a master RCT3 park builder. You are right on the mark or should I say as close as one can come to the mark with the games limits.

Since you are playing around with building some mods for this park, would you consider creating the large Fantasmic Mickey Wizard Cap? I know you are not building the entire MGM Studios Park but it would look cool in the background even if it was just a 2D image.

Like I said earlier, I LOVE IT. Great job.

Edit: You updated 2 mins before I posted this. I am excited that you are going to build the entire park.

05-07-2005, 11:01 PM
Do u have to library in ToT? R u gonna post a video and more pics before sending out a download?

05-07-2005, 11:02 PM
Nice work! Really Nice - boy that is spot on with MGM - I cannot wait until this is released!

05-08-2005, 12:21 AM
Can't wait to see :)

05-08-2005, 12:34 AM
Looks absolutely KILLER! I'm looking forward to see completion of this park.:)

05-08-2005, 06:15 AM
Thanks for the comments. They are appreciated.

RCTfreakindeed: Yes there is a library, as well as a boiler room with the service elevators section. I'll post some pics as soon as I get that part finished. I will hopefully releae a video as soon as I get a few things finished first.

My god, I think those are the most realistic looking city shots I've ever seen! GOOD JOB!

05-08-2005, 07:54 AM
wow very nice

05-08-2005, 10:34 AM
Lovely!!! Very nice!! Very realistic, brings back great memorys!! Everything looks exactly the same, kudos!!! Cant wait to d/l it!

I love that chinese design, I may have to copy some of it, if that is ok with you, as yours looks so much better then mine!

05-08-2005, 12:16 PM
Can't wait for a video or/and more pics! Wen will ur next update be?:D

05-08-2005, 12:17 PM

I agree. I liked the Stunt Show for the first 30 times, but after that you go numb to the bad jokes. :) Maybe one day.....

But at least WDW is getting Expedition Everst. That might be worthwhile. Acutally I would love to see someone do Animal Kingdom in RCT3. There would be so many trees, it would probably look like a slide show. :haha:

I'll upload a few more pics in the next day or so. I'm working right now on getting most of the buildings, and streets working. Thanks again, to everyone who's posted.

05-08-2005, 05:31 PM
Great!:D Ya I am going to watch the Stunt Show very sooooN!

05-08-2005, 05:33 PM
GREAT JOB! I really like it so far

05-08-2005, 08:57 PM
Just wanted to give an update before the weekends over. Who knows how much I will get done this week. I finished most of Echo Lake, and Comissary Lane. Any comments, suggestions are welcome...good, or bad. Thanks again.

We've all ate here at least once or twice. ABC Comissary

Sounds Dangours with Drew Carry.

Here's the early enterance for Fantasmic on Hollywood Blvd.

Some people PM'd me asking for a couple of shots of Chinese Theater.

05-08-2005, 09:00 PM
I was PM'd about a back shot of the Tower of Terror

Here's my boat I made for the Dockside Diner.

I just started the Animation courtyard, so it looks a little rough.

And finally a overview of the park, so you can see what it looks like so far.

05-08-2005, 09:05 PM
Excellent! Beautiful! Amazing!

05-09-2005, 06:50 AM
Continuing on Milkdud's post...
Awesome! Fantastic! Umm.... Great?

05-09-2005, 11:21 AM
I love your recreation of MGM studios!!! It`s great to see someone at work with such a perfect sense for all the little details.
Although I`ve never been to a Disney MGM-Park, I rediscovered this internetsite some days ago (http://www.tower-of-terror.com/main.html ) and got really hyped about the TOT. I`d really like to go there someday and see it live, but until then: your recreation is absolutely awesome.
Hope you`ll offer this for download one day...

Suggestion: You asked for an suggestion for the ride vehicles of the TOT... I think maybe should get away from the real-life freefall-tower experience and turn it into some sort of a LIM-coaster. You could let it start very slowly on the first few metres through the fifth dimension - then suddenly you would blast it up on one side of the tower using blockbrakes. I would then use some sort of top-hat-figure under the roof of the tower and let the car drop back on the other side, where it would return to station! ( sort of an indoor top-thrill-dragster)

05-09-2005, 11:29 AM
That's actually not a bad idea. Currently its used the Real life free fall drops for the tower section. I have using a small "haunted" cart for the 1st floor and 5th dimenstions, but that turned out unrealistic. Right now guest are entering an elevator, and then getting off on the 5 th deminstion, and walking to the loading area of the Free Falls.

I may give your idea a try. The only real problem will be fitting all of this into the tower. :)

05-10-2005, 07:01 AM
Im going to Orlando this summer:D :noob:  :D (the first time that I go out of Spain and the first time going in airplane: yahoo!!!) and I was visiting a web with all the theme parks of Orlando where im going and, jesus christ! you MGM is the same as in the photos and the maps i have seen. BRAVO!
Tower of Terror is very well done, with so many details...
Rock and Roller coaster: the entrance that you did is as near as the real one as possible (even with the piece of track above the head) that shows how many detail you have put into this.
Im very nervous because I think is going to be the best summer of my live and seeing your park gives me lots of of ideas of what im oing to do when I go there.
To you JASaxman_cm, thanks for all this genial screens of your work.

05-10-2005, 08:00 PM
is the park very laggy?

05-10-2005, 09:22 PM
This is a doubled sided issue. If the game is paused, it runs perfect. But as soon as 1000+ peeps starting walking around it starts to slow down. So its actually the peeps that kill the frame rates.

I'm doing my best at trying to only add trees where they would be seen by peeps , etc, and being very careful with how many lights I put in. For4 comparison here's my specs. The game is running at Full Detail with everything.

Geforce 6800GT
1 gig ram
AthlonXP 2800+
Nforce2 Ultra Chipset

05-11-2005, 06:09 PM
That is awesome! How laggy is laggy? Wen can we expect an update!?:D

05-12-2005, 08:07 AM
Is not terrible laggy. If you turn the setting down one notch, is actually very playable. The only times it start to chug (so far) is when you ride the Two coasters, and the view switches to Sunset Blvd. If the parks closed, you have NO lag at all.

I'll try to post some screenshot tonight if I get some time. The Animation CourtYard is almost done, and I"m getting ready to start on Star Tours, and Muppets area's. Thanks to all those that have PM's me and comments here on the boards.

05-12-2005, 10:30 AM
looks good

my valhalla project click here (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=468862)

05-12-2005, 10:59 AM
Awesome! Tower of Terror looks really good.

05-12-2005, 11:20 AM
As an ex-Tower of Terror Bellhop, PLEASE do not make it a LIM coaster :) Your recreation looks great - I'm very impressed, and the nostalgia is creeping up on me. Only thing missing is the cupola at the very very top. There is room to stand up there, and its actually part of bellhop training to go up and look around...

05-12-2005, 10:55 PM
As per YourPalJay request, I will not change the ride. Although after much thinking, I may have to tear part of it down, get the inside floors right. :( Oh well.

Anyway, here are a few updates as promised. I haven't had much time, but I did get a few thing finished.

A view of the enterance at night.

Night shot up Hollywood Blvd

Looking up at TOT when you exit.

Tot Shot from RNR. I know its not correct, but I can't do an angle. :)

05-12-2005, 10:58 PM
Night shot of Commisary Lane, and front street of Echo Lake.

Shot of the Animation Cortyard.

And I leave you with one last night shot of the TOT. Thanks again to all of those commenting.

05-13-2005, 04:22 PM
OMFG!! THAT IS THE GREATEST MGM RECREATION YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!! i go there yearly so it is INCREASINGLY accurate. except for the indiana jones thing but that is a good edition which would look good in the real park

05-13-2005, 07:19 PM
Thanks DisneyFREAK1178. I'm doing the best I can in the amount of time I get each night. (my wife may leave me if I con't see her more :) ) Anyway here is a quick update to what I've been working on today. I've been trying to get the Great Movie Ride going. Turned out I had to tear the ride building down and start over. Oh well.

Just an overhead shot of the Great Movie Ride. I'm still now finshed, but getting close

Here's a shot of the theater as you wait inline. I even got the slop in the floor right. :)

There's about 3 scenes from the movie ride that I left out. One was of Cassablance, the other was Tarzan, and the last was Fantasia. I may add them in later, but I don't think that it will make a difference. Anyway, back to MGM. Thanks again.

05-13-2005, 07:34 PM

Just remember your wife is more important lol.

05-13-2005, 08:10 PM
Wat ride do the peep ride first, second, third? WOW! AWESOME SCREENSHOTS EXSPECILLY the GMR's pics!

05-13-2005, 09:45 PM
The first ride most take is the MGM transit. :) I have a Tram that takes guest from where the main road to MGM would be located into the area where they let off from the Parking Lot. ( I know, I'm sad) I had to build a path around the lake for walkers too, otherwise if a Peep got on and other members of the family did not, they would sit and the exit in "lost" mode.

Most will then head for Rock N' Roller Coaster, and then head for Tower of Terror. But thats because I've alwasy had the park open while building, and Sunset Blvd was first built. I will close it and get all the peeps out and then see.

05-14-2005, 12:01 AM
just a question, How much Ram do you have??
It sucks to have little ram :sour:

05-14-2005, 01:13 AM
Currently Im running 1gig of DDR. I did manage to close the park and get everyone out. The game runs silky smooth after that even at night. So when I get the park at a point where Im happy with it I release it closed. That it wont bog anyones PC down too much.

05-14-2005, 02:08 AM
Hey! JASaxman_cm I want to know your computer specification. I have 1 GB Ram but the game still sluggish. I want to download your park but I'm scared that your park make game sluggish.
My computer spec:
Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz(Prescott)
1 GB Ram Dual DDR
ATI RADEON 9250 128 Ram with TV-out
SoundMAX Audio

05-14-2005, 09:37 AM
Geforce 6800GT 256DDR3
1 gig DDR Dual 400mhz
AthlonXP 2800+
Nforce2 Ultra Chipset
Audigy 2

The game runs without any problems when the park is empty. No slow down at all. The only time you can start to see a problem is when you get the 1000+ peeps in the park. So when I release it, I will make sure the park is closed. That way it will work on most all PC's with little problems. I don't know when I'll release it, because I'm still far from finished, but if it starts to get to the part where building starts to cause problems, I will stop building and just release it.

05-14-2005, 10:15 AM
About how far done r u? Wat will be the first movie u realease?Have u found a way to import the Hollywood Tower Hotel Sign? or the dougnut? VERY GOOD!:)

05-14-2005, 11:48 PM
I'm still working with Blender to get the custom Models in. I'm still not great at it, but I'm making progess. :)

I'll work on a video as soon as I get either the Muppets area, or New York Street. Hopefully Not much longer. Thanks again.

05-19-2005, 07:16 PM
Any updates? lol:haha:

05-19-2005, 09:10 PM
As a DisneyWorld enthusiast myself, and quite an avid visitor (at least a dozen times), I must say this is an INCREDIBLE recreation. How did you do it? I can barely remember all of the details and I take tons of pictures too. Well, I can't wait to see it done - especially Phantasmic!
Thanks for sharing!!!!

06-02-2005, 12:35 PM
Anny updates? :D ;)

06-02-2005, 11:28 PM
I cant wait till rock n rollercoaster comes to DCA!! im not sure if im suposed to talk about that. but whatever!

06-03-2005, 09:12 AM
Man, I love this park. You've done such a good job at the recreation. When I was there in April, I got to have lunch with Imagineer Mike West, who worked on Tower of Terror. He said he rode it about 200 times straight in order to work out all of the sequences to get just right. He said he was pretty green.
By the way, can't wait to see the Star Tours and Tatooine area.
You should check out this guys Star Wars park, it's really nice.

06-03-2005, 11:30 AM
This is very impressive. Great job on the details.

06-03-2005, 11:36 AM
Dang nice Star Wars scenario

06-03-2005, 10:29 PM
Sorry guys for the lack of updates. I've been learning Blender so that I can do some good models for my park. I haven't given up, and I've been adding alot of ground work to the park. I'll post some more screens as soon as get some time. Thanks again, for the continued intrest.

06-17-2005, 04:14 PM
Just wanted to give a quick update. I've given up on the 3d models. After getting them finished and Importing them, it began to look really....well...fake. Suddenly you have these Hi Res buidlings in a lo-res world. So I'm going back to just plan models, etc. With that said, I've started again on the Disney Studios. I'm currently reworking TOT and I"ve got the Animation buidling to look much more faithful. Currently I'm working on New York Street and the Muppets area...but thats later. Anyway, here's just a few shots of the TOT with Caffinated's Letters Pack. After importing a texture of the actuall sign, I found that the simple letters, looked better in game. Thank you Caffinated for your great object! Anyway, here are the pics.

Here's my best recreation of the Painting behind the Picture desk:

A few night shots:

A far view of the Animation Court:

If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free. I'm always looking for new idea's. I'd love to figure out a way to get the lights Green or purple, but haven't had any luck on figuring out a way. :(

06-17-2005, 04:42 PM
Looks amazing, man. Great work. I love MGM studios, and DW period.

06-17-2005, 04:51 PM
The TOT looks amazing with Caf's letter set - really slick!

06-17-2005, 05:16 PM
OMG please make this a park we can download, and not just a video (if you plan to do a video) - it looks so awesome! The tower of terror looks facinating!

06-18-2005, 05:22 PM
Holy crap, that is so realistic! I love the look of it, I cant wait to download the park, only problem is, that RCT 3 doesnt have a decent tower or terror ride to even put it instead of! Still though, gotta love that attention to detail!

06-21-2005, 11:55 AM
WOWOWOWOW!! I CAN NOT WAIT! Please get this park up for download soon.....It is very realistic!:D

06-21-2005, 03:55 PM
All I have to say is...

Very nicely done. I would love to take a trip through this myself. Looks great! Very authentic looking. I am trying my hand a little bit of recreation, and I hope I can do somewhere close to half as good as what this one is so far.

How long have you been working on this now?

06-21-2005, 04:29 PM
Wow. I've only ever been to MGM Studios once and that was back in 1997 (wow, can't believe it's been 8 years!), so a lot has probably changed from when I was there....

But I *still* got a sense of deja vu looking at your screencaps!!! It looks so much like what I remember from my time at the park.

This is *awesome*. I can't wait to see more!

06-21-2005, 08:38 PM
Ok... I've done some major work on Tower of Terror and the Bathroom as the end of Sunset. I actually tried rebuilding TOT with the Color Wall set so I could use the windows, and color, but it just ended up looking like Strawberry Quick. Anyway, The Tower is now the correcty height, and has alot of the missing details. Let me know if its looks better or worse.

The Correct Bathroom Shape:

Fast Pass Location

The Line is now correct in shape, etc

06-21-2005, 08:44 PM
Garden Overhang is now closer

Far View of the rehab

Better view of the changes

A few night Views from the Enterance and line

Changes of the Back

Final Screen of the Tower.

06-21-2005, 08:45 PM
Looks Amazing!!

06-21-2005, 08:50 PM
I still have a lot more to do with the Tower, so you will see a few things that may not look right.

I usually work on this park when the "Disney Bug" bits me. If I had to add up the times I would say probably a good 3 or 4 weeks. I mostly like Disney for the reason that they use good theming, and I have all the music for the park running in RCT3. Gotta love 2 hour long MP3's for Sunset Blvd, and 1+ for Tower of Terror. :)

06-21-2005, 08:57 PM
The way you have used the letters litraly wowed me, amazing work !

06-23-2005, 07:32 PM
Just wanted to give a quicky update to those still following this thread. I also need to ask you guys a few questions.

I'm almost finished with the Lobby, and Exit. So here are a few shots. If you see something that is totally incorrect, let me know, or if you have an idea on how to make something better, and something I need to add just say so.

Does anyone remember what was in the little black building by the exit? Was it a coffee shop?....softdrinks?... I can't remember. Its been a couple years. :(

Now here is my delima at the moment. Because of the detail I'm putting into this, its starting to suffer framerates. Its just now getting to that point. So I need to do one of the following:

1. Finish the Park, and hope one day we have PC's that can run it.
2. Cut everything back, and just release a very detailed version of Sunset Blvd.
3. Just do highly detailed recreations of the rides, and release them one at a time.

Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

06-23-2005, 07:53 PM
Soaked! Is supposedly helping people with framerates!

06-23-2005, 08:00 PM
Really? I shall have to see. Thanks for the tip.

06-23-2005, 09:23 PM
If I had to chosse I would say either 1 or 3!

06-23-2005, 10:29 PM
Well, I just purchased Soaked, and there is a small increase in Frame Rate. But not enough to warrent any radical changes.

I think I agree. I know that I could do very detailed Recreation of TOT, and RNR, etc. I may actually go this route. The advantage of this, is that I can add as much detail as I can, and it still have great framerates. The only down fall to this, is that I enjoy being able to walk around MGM, and then suddenly look up, and see TOT at the end of Sunset Blvd.

I shall think on this some more. Anywayone else have any opinions? comments?

06-23-2005, 11:44 PM
Ok... just had to post this pic, after I found the option in Soaked.

The Q-Line in Tower of Terror is complete. Well almost...I guess I need to add the signs with the plant names on them.

I also thought that this was a much needed prop for my Animation courtyard.

I must say that Soaked has added a lot of thing that I needed. The speakers being the main ones. I was tired of Hiding Elevators so I can use the music of the ride. :)

Ok, I'm done for the day. :haha:

06-25-2005, 07:48 PM
As a Great Movie Ride cast member, I'd like to thank you for your stunning rendition of the Chinese Theatre...

Excellent work, friend

06-25-2005, 08:03 PM
I just keep getting amazed every time I open up this thread.
You are doing some incredible work. If you decide to build the drive-in restaurant maybe you could use the lasers to put images up on the indoor movie screen.

The only other thing I can thank to say is "WOW".

06-25-2005, 08:14 PM
WOW! I love this park SOOOO much. When do u think it will be done? Can u post some more pics of the 5th Deminsion in ToT and The G reat Movie Ride!? THANK YOU.

06-25-2005, 09:33 PM
The whole park is beautiful, but your ToT is simply magnificent. I can't wait til you're done so I can stroll through this wonderful recreation.

Great job!

06-25-2005, 10:12 PM
Wow I love it! I only went twice in 1997 in MGM studio and your park reminds me so lot... Esp the mist in the queue line which it helped me lotta when I got really bad sunburned on my back after ride on Summit Plummet in Blizzard Beach, which wiped all my sun cream on my back.
Damn I wish I want to go Florida again,
Okay I gotta to start to save up for next summer.

06-26-2005, 08:26 AM
Excellent work!!

06-26-2005, 08:45 AM
The bellhop decides to chime in again :)

The stall that you see just outside the exit - the little black building - used to be coffee. I think it still is, as of my last visit in December.

As far as finishing... I would say release Sunset Blvd as a standalone, since that seems to be pretty popular, and then go on to finish the park as best you can given the FPS troubles.

And nice work with the queue line... quite accurate! Excellent work!!

06-26-2005, 09:50 AM
Man, I can't say enough about this. It keeps looking better and better. I like how you used the mermaid for the show scenery. By the way, if you select the option under the graphics setting to Balanced, and then reset the resolution to 800x600, I found that my lag decreased by TONS.
See ya.

06-26-2005, 05:19 PM
In the lobby of the ToT there should be cobwebs. I know RCT3 doesn't have them but there is a thread on the first page about custom made stuff and u could ask for CobWebs!!!!!!!!

06-26-2005, 07:24 PM
best ToT recreation ever!

06-27-2005, 08:33 AM
Wow... Its funny how people reply on the days you don't check the threads. :)

Thanks to all of you that have posted comments. As of right now here is what is going on. I'm going to work on the park as a whole for right now. That way, one day when we get our nice new PCI express PC's with Dual Geforce 7800's we can walk through the entire park.

But What I'm doing right now, is work soley in the Sunset section. I"ve started RNR, from the ground up again so that I can get it as detailed as Tower of Terror. Here are a few shots of the progress:

So you can see that I've got a lot to still do. But here's run down of what's in the works. I'm using the Custom Dark Ride scenery (thanks guys) to get the inside dark. I've already located all the area's that have visible props, and I"m starting to add them in. I'm currently trying to learn to use the mix master to get colored lights. (still have to read some threads) I have all the Q-line in place. Might not be the best, but its there. ;). I even have the stores in the end of the ride. Sound track is also in place. I have 50 and 60's muisc playing outside in the Q, garage sounds at the loading area, and the Ride soundtrack playing at the launch, and through the main ride building. I'll work more on it today, and see were it takes me.

Thanks for the info. I thought that there was a coffee stand there, but never really looked, or had a clean picture of it form trips.

hehe... I'll work on the cobwebs. I'm still trying to learn the importer and 3d modeling. As for the pics of the 5th dem....The tower is empty right now. I'm just been working on the constrution. I'm still trying to figure out how to put a ride vehical in the the tower that can vertical and the horizontal to travel through the 5th. I know I"m keeping the drop towers as Freefalls. Anyone have any idea's on the rest?

Thanks again. And sorry for the grammer mistakes, I'm in a hurry. :)

Hi, just want to say thanks again for making this park, especially RNRC. It's my #1 coaster. I've rode in the front a half dozen times now. It RULES!!!!
Can't wait to see your track layout.

06-27-2005, 09:38 AM
Wen u release Sunset. R u going to release TGMR?

06-27-2005, 09:54 AM
I will most likley release the Park as a whole, so yes.

I you really look at night photo's of MGM, or any Disney Park for that matter, there is so much light, and great colors, that i would love to be able to duplicate. But lights are not RCT3's strong point. Just 20 or 30 lights at night in RCT3 can bring some PC's to its knees. So here's to hoping.

06-27-2005, 10:41 AM
AWESOME! Can u post some more pics of TGMR? and do u have the WHOLE RNRC line done yet????

06-28-2005, 02:18 PM
I'll post some screens of the Great Movie Ride later tonight, along with a few other changes.

06-28-2005, 02:24 PM
Amazing Detail and Architecture! Your Tower of Terror is still the best one out there. The best Detailed. Awesome. If you want another ride in tower you could use the Vertical coaster with the Brake Stop. The lift practically goes straight up and it can drop straight down. PERFECT for Tower of Terror. I can't wait to see your Great Movie Ride. I have only been on it once but absolutely loved it!!!

06-30-2005, 12:24 PM
i haven't been to orlando in years, that is a sweet tower of terror though!

07-03-2005, 07:37 AM
When are we getting the screens, have you givin up on this project. I hope not. like to here from you.

07-03-2005, 09:31 AM
No, don't worry I haven't given up....just taking a short break. Didn't want to get burned out on MGM. I'm started work on the Muppets 3D area. Hopefully I'll get it done in the next day or so, and I'll post some pics.

07-03-2005, 12:20 PM
Holy crap, that is exactly like the real thing, I mean it is dead on, the entrance is amazing, I wonder what inside is like! Ive noticed you were using that dark ride scenery, just a quick tip, cover it up with normal tiles, because the draw distance on the dark scenery isnt brillant, just a helpful tip. Also how is the lag?

07-03-2005, 02:26 PM
I almost forgot I put that pic up of RNR without its skin. Yeah, its been covered so you Don't know its there. Oopsie. :) Thanks for being observant though.

07-03-2005, 03:42 PM
Man does this thread ever bring back memories! I've been to MG multiple times with family and your recreation is exactly as I remember it. :)

I do think that black stall near the exit of Tower of Terror was a drink stall of some kind.

The rockin' Rollercoaster looks pretty sweet! Only when I saw your screens did I remember the industrial feel to it... Too bad there's no custom scenery of a giant red guitar...

Do you have any plans for Star Tours? I know that's going to be difficult since there's not really any giant trees or AT-AT scenery...

I downloaded a version of sunset blvd. and the Rock N Rollercoaster can't make it through the first loop. Has that been fixed?

Great recreation1

07-05-2005, 07:41 PM
If your talking about my first attempt at Sunset, then yes. (actually, the old one works, if you turn on low friction) but the problem has been fixed. Also, the size, and track layout have been corrected as well as the train / track type. As someone pointed out on the last one, I was using the wrong type of train.

It now has 4 trains on track stopping and going at the correct timings. Soundtrack is around 90% timed to the ride take off. I have engine sounds, and garage sounds in the loading area. Tire squill is timed. 50's and 60's music playes outside.

Acutally the funny thing is, I'm working on a test video of the RNR right now. I wanted to give you guys a chance to comment on it, before i finish all the effects. Currently I working on all the soundtrack timing, and building front. So if all goes well, I will have a ride video up tonight. But don't quote me on that. :D

I'm quivering in anticipation!!!!!

I was wondering, how much of your recreation is done without custom scenery?

I am trying to recreate MGM Studios, and I was wondering if I had to download anything,

I can guarantee it won't be as good as your recreation is.

07-06-2005, 11:38 AM
Acutally, the only custom scenery I"m using is the Dark Rides pack. I still messing around with Blender, and trying to make a Guitar, but I'm apparently not that good at modeling yet. :)

I'm looking forward to seeing your park. MGM was my first park, so trust me...you can probably do better than mine.

...as you guys can see I did not get the video up last night. For some reason the video crashes half way through, so i will try again when I get home from work. One day it will get finished. :)

07-06-2005, 12:12 PM
I cant wait. About how done r u with ur WHOLE park? Can I ask for some pics of TGMR. MGM Studios Fan it would be awesome to see ur version of MGM also. I can't wait.

P.S. I love ur Splash Mountain also!

I'm really busy now, so it will be a while.

07-08-2005, 01:26 PM
Any updates? on this or Frontier LAnd?

07-14-2005, 03:44 PM
New Video:

Rock N Roller Coaster Preview Video - 7mb (http://rapidshare.de/files/3059394/rnr_preview.wmv.html)

Sorry for the lack of updates. But to show that I haven't forgot about this project, here is a video of the prelimnary run through of Rock N Roller Coaster.

Let me know if there is a problem with the layout, or if something just looks odd to you. All comments are welcome. Thanks again, and I AM still working on this park.

07-14-2005, 03:53 PM
Awsome! You got it almost pefect. I loved setting at the start and listening to the sounds and THEN the screchhing tires where timed perfect. Very nice recreation. One promblem I didn't like setting in the back of the trian. I felt like a was being strung all over the place.(Just like in real life) but would have like to have a seat closer to the front(agian like in real life) Amazing now I will keep hoping for a Great Movie Ride Vid.

07-14-2005, 03:59 PM
Woah, the editing was great, and I almost missed the ending, glad I didnt!! The ride fitted the itming perfectly, but it was a bit more bumpier then I remeber. How did you get it to wait before it was launched?

07-14-2005, 04:01 PM

07-15-2005, 08:28 AM
This park is Amazing. :p Your attention to detail is incredible. I visit Disney about twice a year and have to go to MGM just for TOT & RNR coaster. Hope you release this to everyone soon cause can't wait to walk through this park. Simply Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

07-18-2005, 10:43 AM

The timing was actually the hardest part. Most people will put block sections in, and then suddenly in the middle of the ride you stop suddenly. I had to place the right amount of Normal brakes, and threw block stations in the correct places to get it to work corrently. It features 4 trains on track at once like its real life counterpart, 1 in the station, 1 launching, 1 on track,1 at the unloading. The track is alittle bumpy due to the fact the RCT3 doesn't have sweeping up, and down curves, so I had to improvise a little with the banks, and curves. But other than the track is pretty close, even in timing. I'll will be adding the inside effects ASAP.

I've been so busy this past week, that I haven't had much time to work on any of the parks. Hopefully this week will not be as bad and I can work on them some. Thanks again to all those replying. I'm actually surprised no one has been cusing me about the teaser at the end of the Movie. :) Most poeple probably stopped it before it got there... which was the intent for its timeing in the video. :haha: Thanks again.

07-18-2005, 11:18 AM
The park and rides look great... just one thing. What about the giant hidden Mickey? I figured you would have included that.

07-18-2005, 11:40 AM
Funny you should mentiont that, becuase I kept looking at the overhead of my park, and the maps, and I can't figure out a way to do it. RCT3 doesn't like long curves, or diagnals, etc. I'm still brian storming trying to figure out a way. The first one I tried looked really bad in the design, so I scrapped it, in order to make the park look more natural.

07-31-2005, 06:09 PM
Awww... A lack of posts?

I visited Disney World 3 years ago, and did the the whole sha-bang, including a Disney cruise. I just want to say the whole project you ar working on is absolutely amazing. I especially love the recreations of the RNRC and the HTTH, as they were my two favorite rides. Your work on the boulevards were amazing too, I liked the ABC cafe too.

Looking at this thread almost brought a tear to my eye, as it is just so amazingly similar to what it was like. Awesome memories are coming back :)

I hope this project isnt dieing, I'd love to see more. Once again, awesome work

07-31-2005, 08:19 PM
First, I would like to thank all of you that have viewed and replied in this thread through out the process. With that said, here is what is going on.

This project is on hold for several reasons:
1. The Chicago wall set offers blocks that will be perfect for many of the buildings along the Blvd's, as well as some new custom blocks that I've already started using for TOT, and other attractions.
2. RCT3 does not handle Full parks very well. So I may just scale down to a really, REALLY detailed Sunset Bulvd, etc. like I"m doing with Frontierland. I've found that this approach is far more enjoyable, than having to worry about how many trees, lights, etc. Its also much more lifelike.
3. I've been so busy the past couple of weeks, that I've had no time to work on RCT3. I'm hoping this will change in the next week.
4. Frontierland is almost done, and I will release it first.

So, sorry for the somewhat bad news about this thread, but two things may come of this.

1. I will give you a damn good park when I release it.
2. Also Disneyfan1 is working on a MGM with a few custom models, and its shaping up to pretty good so far. I suggest you should check out his thread.

Once again, thanks to all, and I will be back with a major update, soon.

07-31-2005, 09:33 PM
say, even if you are not working on it wright now , are you gone put fantasmic in the park to?

07-31-2005, 09:43 PM
Thats fair enough. I hope it all works out for the best. Can't wait to see what you release

08-08-2005, 05:46 PM
Hey Ja Saxman, what type of ride did you use for TOT?

08-08-2005, 07:45 PM
Fliping Amazing !

08-08-2005, 10:08 PM
  this...

this park brings a tear to my eye its BEATUIFUL

its like watching a ghost town of mgm lol since thiers no peeps in most of the pics

a few things i hate about disney thats better in this park
2.too crowded too mayn little kids crying (i was one lol parents forced me on that alien ride wen i was 8 scared the crap outta me and i was crying on a fat mans shoulder...)

3 hours for rockin roller coaster 2 hours for splash mountain

4 hours for the tower of teror :sulk:

08-08-2005, 10:13 PM
lol that sucks......I believe I cried on the Extraterrorestrial Alien Encounter too! They removed it though, which is a shame now that I'm not scared crapless of it. Anyways, when I go to Disney I'm a power rider and hit the night scene and do e-Ticket nights at the magic kingdom, and go to MGM late to rack up RnR and ToT's probably 8 rides in an hour. Same at Epcot for Mission: Space and Test Track. Fantasmic/Illuminations leaves lines looking like a ghost town, besides it's always more fun at night;) .

I love Disney. I'm never out in the daytime either, unless its at BB or TL, or eating at one of the fabulous restaurants of course!!! I love it!

08-08-2005, 10:17 PM
since im young.. i went with ma fam and we left after da fireworks and fantasmic and all of those night shows

10 o clock i mean dont the parks close at 10 30 or 11 so that theirs not hobos sleeping there overnight and it saves electricity??

08-08-2005, 10:46 PM
Well I'm 17, so the past 3 years I had taken a friend with me when i was 13, 14, and 15 during the summer. And I've been to WDW nearly every summer I've been alive until this one, which was just incredible busy because I'm getting ready for college and stuff. But, with all my experience there I know Disney like the back of my hand, so my parents fully trusted me to go wherever on my own.

I find, though, that if you go during the last hour of the park's being open, especially at MGM, you can walk on to RnR and ToT. It's just unbelievable, I mean I've had them let us stay on RnR before. Ah, well....I could talk about WDW forever! Looooove it. And I'm an only child so that helps, too. The 'family' is my mom and dad lol..

You go in July and expect it to be deserted and lukewarm?

08-09-2005, 01:23 AM
lol I always go in July!....and it is always hot and busy lol....but everything I was talking about was happening in July with the walk-on rides and such.

08-09-2005, 09:33 AM
I would like to know wat kind of ride he used with ToT...lol...mjtheojr2005@hotmail.com (mjtheojr@hotmail.com) :bored:

08-09-2005, 10:11 AM
I'm going next year in septemeber ? that a good time to go ?

08-09-2005, 10:15 AM
To answer the quesiton about the TOT:

I have used two drop towers in the main dropshafts. I tried many different rides to create the effect that the TOT offeres, but none of them stayed true to the Tower of Terror.

But even with the limits, I went ahead a created the Boiler Room, First Floor, 5th Dimension and themeing for the Hollywood Tower Hotel. I've also added the two Libraries as well. But until we can create custom rides with Vertical, and Horzitonal moves, I don't think we will be able to do much better. :(

08-10-2005, 09:35 PM
That is really cool. I love the pictures...I also think you did an more than excellent job of recreating the Aerosmith Rockin' Rollercoaster. I just rode that last year and I downloaded the video and it was just like riding it again but not having to travel all the way to Flordia to do it...Keep up the good work!

08-13-2005, 05:13 PM
will anybody reply???

08-16-2005, 09:38 PM
OK, very impressive replication(except for the dock side bar) but Im not sure what can be done with that. Any way It some places i felt like I was looking at a photo. It was dead on! very nice indeed.

08-17-2005, 02:30 AM
That is unbelievable... I've been working on a Magic Kingdom park that I'm quite proud of, but it pales in comparison to this.

08-17-2005, 05:10 PM
this park is great! This is one of the best Rec.s I've seen! WOW! I think DisneyMGM is the best disney park at WDW, sadly thats the only disney park i've been to... oh well... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! I'M LOVING THIS PROJECT!!!

P.S. oh, and DMBARsenal, They've turned Extraterrorestrial in "Stitch's Great Escape" to make it more Family orientated... It's actually quite good... especially when he eats the chilli dog then burps on you... god it actually smells of the thing!

And that new "Lights, Motors, Action!" stunt show at MGM is ok, but they have cut down the backlot tour to build it, so there's not much movie props to look at any more! Stupid Disney... I'd rather see stuf from films than a stunt show that involves loads of stuff i've seen before!

08-23-2005, 11:04 AM
When will it be ready to download ?

08-23-2005, 11:26 AM
When will we get to see the TOT video ????

08-25-2005, 10:36 PM
I'm never going to Disney, so this is the best I'll get, and it looks to be spot-on from what I've seen!

08-26-2005, 01:00 AM
Just a little bit of a continuation from Larry's post..

JA said that he was ceasing his work on this park, so he may or may not check this thread as much as he used to.

08-26-2005, 10:20 AM
Where did you get the music for it all ??

08-26-2005, 03:54 PM
Woah... I didn't know people were still posting in this thread.

To answer a few of the quesitons:

The music came from many CD's and home video's. MGM mainly uses Big Band music, so it was just a matter of finding which ones. One year I sat down on Sunset, and did nothing but right right down the songs I heard. Same for out side the main gate.

I was going to start work on this park again, once I got motivated, but I haven't really had time. I may just tigh up some loose ends and release the park as is, which is far from done, but oh well.

I'll try to get something of an update for those watching this park soon. There are alot of other MGM's floating around now, so you may want to check out there recreations.

08-26-2005, 04:06 PM
Glad to hear this park may yet be released one day! I am dying to download your park and have a walk around! It's the best looking park I've ever seen for RCT. An update would be great!

08-26-2005, 04:16 PM
Yea, I agree with vbc. I cant wait untill you release this park, thats if you do. I love how it reminds me of my vacation to Florida so much, and it just simply an amazing park to look at.

Hey, maybe if you give me the park, I may slip you some canadian money:D

I'm jk, take your time, and dont rush stuff :)

09-04-2005, 10:27 PM
What type of Rollercoaster was used for RNR and how would it be made so the coaster leaves the loading dock, pauses, and then launches

09-04-2005, 10:34 PM
I'm not quite sure what the coaster is, but blockbrakes were probably used to stop and launch.

I may be wrong, but thats what I believe =/

09-05-2005, 09:22 AM
Ya Trent, i thought block brakes would probably be used to, i'm just wonder the idea on the placement of them and timing in order to achieve the pause, then launch.

09-05-2005, 01:57 PM
Awesome park!! i can not wait to play it!! :noob:

09-05-2005, 02:04 PM
Could you put it in something else then Rapidshare?

09-17-2005, 02:53 PM
theo, I deleted your double post, use edit on your posts. Or be patient enough to see if someone answers first.

10-06-2005, 02:09 PM
Very nice I actully work At the TOT.. very impressed here keep it up!

10-10-2005, 07:44 PM
I have joined these forums....Solely, for this park.

This, is amazing. As a huge Disney, and RNR fan, I'm amazed. I recently went on RNR for the first time (And four times after :) ) and loved it. If/when you release this park, I will be playing RCT3 Every. Single. Day.

Thanks for this! :)

10-12-2005, 12:45 AM
Hi.. I would love to download a copy of your park Disney MGM Studios.. is it out, is there a site for download, if there is, please do link it here. Ideally, I am trying to get the different parks representing all of Disney World.

Nice on mate , really good job if you'd used Custom Scenery it would have been even better but even so using what you've had you've done a very accreate and cool MGM i'm doing the same at the moment but progress is slow and i hope mines as good as yours.
