I've been away for AGES! Please use the updated version from Jonwil available at his thread (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=507780). For any collection usage requests (and I still am getting some in my mailbox...though the last was in Feb), I give you whatever permission I still have, please OK it through Jonwil though, since he did the work to update them! HUGE thanks Jonwil! 6/2/2007

I also tested them :) (Think that's where I went wrong last night...thought I had but guess I didn't).

The first 2 sets are complete.

More information, images, and the downloads are available here. (http://cafeens_corner.tripod.com/RCT3/letters.html) (the downloads available will *NOT* work with Wild, but the info page is still ok).

http://s3.amazonaws.com/mmoguildsites_gallery/img5761.jpg

Now, mountable on existing walls!

Same page above will take you there.

As I started in the Scenery Editor Thread, but will switch to here for more specific stuff (so I don't bog that down more than I have today.)

I am currently working on a set of letters, numbers, and a few symbols to be added into the scenery.

Here are the basics so far

Pumper:
Nice! I love it. So right now, this set won't align flush against an adjacent wall you're saying? Either way - that's still amazing. Can't wait to see this finished.

Correct, right now they are standalone letters. They won't align flush as they are oriented nicely by themselves (the space in front and back of the letter). My next step will be to create a "wall" item to place behind them to give that illusion. After that, I will change the placement to allow them to be backed against a wall. It's not really difficult, just creating all the ovl files sucks...and icon refs...and text strings...and scenery items ><.

WalkingSnake:
The only problem is that they need to be BOLDER. Maybe use Arial Black font.

Next time for sure ;) (models are all created already for this...but planning on doing a few fonts of everything, so will be sure to include that one.)

Thanks for all the positive comments so far :) they're keeping me working on this knowing that people will appreciate it.

Yeah! You have planned to release letters in different sizes?
Not yet. There are roughly 59 models I have here per set. Which means, 59 modelling edits, 59 ASE file edits, 59 Ovl creations (these are the real pain for this), 60 Icon Reference Creations, 60 (+1 for 2 sides of quotes) Text String Creations, and 61 scenery item creations.

Will release the first one as a sort of open beta then see what people think I should remove, add, adjust, etc before I get going fully on the next set. Hopefully will be able to remove a few of the symbols and stuff that are in there, but I'm not sure what the community wants/needs out of these yet.

So far, future plans include (in no particular order):
Raised letters with wall type item to add behind
Raised letters aligned to edge of tile to be able to add existing walls behind
Large letters (1/2 tile, double-wide, double-high)
Other special characters (british pound would be a good one, euro, dunno about others?)
Other fonts (Arial Black to be bold, etc)

I'm not going to go nuts on the next run though until either a) I get a mass importer type thing going or b) I can reduce the number of characters I use or c) I get masochistic again :haha:

Hehe, no park built around these yet :) figured once I get the few additional similar sets done I can make the larger 3d custom signs (not like the path ones...yet ;))

Although, I do like these for a junior area of a park...will have to play.

BUT! I finished this first set.

http://cafeens_corner.tripod.com/RCT3/Shot0022.jpg
It has A-Z and 0-9 (I canned the special characters for now). It's sort of an open beta type of deal, as I want to make these the best they can be (and I can then use the feedback for the 2nd and 3rd generation).

More information, images, and the downloads are available here. (http://cafeens_corner.tripod.com/RCT3/letters.html) (2 downloads available, 1 RAR and 1 self-executing RAR).

~<Edit>~
Maz, I don't know. I saw something about it deep into the Importer thread, but was already most of the way there by the time I read it :(. Either way, 2 different ones out there won't be a big deal, as we probably went about it differently and will just have more options for people out there to find exactly what they're looking for :).

hehe, I had most of the modelling work done last night, today was fine tuning (they were all offset by 1/4 tile, and no material) and figuring out the colorizing (had to DL the Photoshop trial to do this...will have to work like mad creating basic textures over the next 30-days).

Then the fun part of doing the ovl files. (And...I work from home, and work was very light today, but shhh ;))

06-02-2005, 01:32 AM
Missed a critical step in my testing, as Ryboxl may have inadvertantly pointed out. I am testing the extracting and stuff right now to make sure it works.

Ryb, you are creating a new sandbox and stuff and not using an existing park right? Beyond the archive files being futzed up, not really sure what else would cause that.

Checking these files now though.

Looks Great Caffinated   Unless the files went to the wrong place, they should show up in a new sandbox. I haven't gotten this yet, but I'll make sure to get it tomorrow & check it out. I'm pretty worn out right now lol

06-02-2005, 01:48 AM
Ok, tested the archive files and they are working properly. I did have a typo in the instructions on the linked HTML page, that's been fixed.

Ryb, it should be style\themed, not styles\themed as I originally had. Beyond that, I'm not sure :(.

Rybo-XL
06-02-2005, 01:49 AM
Alright, I'll try again, but when you extract the file, do you leave it exactly the same? Or take the files out?

JCat
06-02-2005, 01:50 AM
They worked on my side. The set is not with the walls and roofs - but in the scenery folder (with the chess pieces, candy, etc..).

Rybo-XL

Oh......:haha:

Caffinated
06-02-2005, 01:57 AM
If you have the archive in the style/themed folder...

Depending on which file you downloaded...

EXE
Place the file into the style\themed folder. Double-click to start the extractor, default path from here is correct.

If you open the file on the desktop (or other location), you can either specify the proper path by clicking "Browse" and navigating to the style\themed folder, or even extracting right where it is and then copying the folder to its proper place.

RAR
Place the file into the style\themed folder. Using winRAR or whatever app you use, choose the "Extract to here" option.

Like the EXE above, if you extract to a different location, you can copy the resulting folder into the style\themed folder by hand and it'll work.

Sorry for confusion, I'm pretty bad at writing instructions as I tend to leave bits out :(.

Great custom set, Caffinated/Cafeen!

I personally like how thin the letters are - since the kerning or spacing between letters is inherently a bit stretched out due to RCT3's quarter-tile limitation, this works well with the weight of the font.

Keep up the good work!

Sorry tom :( missed that thread somehow (have been looking at all the scenery ones too...

But, that makes my job easier :) going to do a few sizes and see what stuff I can play with in this set, without going further so as to not step on toes.

I am working on the wall set, and have found the alignment so that you can place them on the same tile as a full wall (they will go through it) and they'll appear as if they're on the wall. They are also centered along the height of a full height wall, and it actually looks decent.

And, yeah, that was the Chris Sawyer cheat in action.

Hehe!

Well, spent the day edting MS files and having all sorts of fun. I have created the WALL MOUNTED letters now.

I'm sorting out the last of the minor issues right now, and these should be ready in about an hour (kinda like Lenscrafters :haha: )

Here are some preview shots (the red letters are the ones that I have some work to do on)

http://cafeens_corner.tripod.com/RCT3/Shot0026.jpg
http://cafeens_corner.tripod.com/RCT3/Shot0027.jpg
http://cafeens_corner.tripod.com/RCT3/Shot0028.jpg
http://cafeens_corner.tripod.com/RCT3/Shot0029.jpg

As you can see, the letters are raised out of the walls. I have 2 depths available. They are chosen by where you put the letter. Behind the wall (same tile) will give you the first (deep) set, in front of the wall tile in front of it) will give you the second (shallow) set.

This was accomplished by using sets of the non-symetrical numbers and letters, the deep set uses the "Reversed" ones, and the shallow set uses the normal.

I should be finishing this in the next hour or 2.

dougbarkermrf
06-03-2005, 02:35 AM
just a suggestion, could you make smaller ones, like quarter tile, or are they already that size? i couldnt tell.

Tom65789
06-03-2005, 04:51 AM
they are alread that size

Caffinated
06-03-2005, 09:02 AM
Yep, as Tom said they are already 1/4 tile, they do take up a 1/2 tile "Face" though. Unfortunately, there is no way (at least currently) to create 1/8 tile letters.

(Hmm...if I might be able to do it, since their collision is off...but would require even more models and items for you to choose from. The group is quite large now (in-game menu)....might take a look at this)

Klinn
06-03-2005, 10:10 AM
Looks great, I really prefer these wall-mounted versions, they will be much more versatile.

While not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, may I suggest adding a few common accents? E.g. ...not the letters themselves, just the accents positioned so they could be shift-raised above any letter. RCT3 has a wide international following that would probably be thrilled to get the proper accents.

Keep up the good work, and BTW, I think it's time for you to change your sig - you're hardly a "noob RCT builder" any more. ;)

Caffinated
06-03-2005, 10:43 AM
Thank you for the compliments Klinn, coming from a designer like you, it means a lot :). Accents are a great idea, too, thanks again.

Since I do lack a bit in the Foriegn (Foreign? hmm...you get the point) Language deptartment, if someone could list the common accents and stuff for capital letters it would be a huge help. It won't be too difficult, as I can just position with the letters in place, then remove the letter and save, thus keeping all vertical sizing and spacing the same.

Also will be redoing the icons and stuff in the near future, to better group these so it won't be so nuts :).

Fixed the crash bug related to the 2, 5, 9, O wall mounted letters. Sorry about that, had to resave, reconvert, and all that for these items. They have all been tested in-game and should work well.

Delete the original Feen_Arial_Wall folder, and redownload from the site (and re-extract and stuff of course). They'll be fixed next time you're in the game.

Apologies

WalkingSnake

It is possible to create 1/8th tile letters. What you'd have to do is create a "left" and "right" version for each letter.

Caffinated
06-10-2005, 01:48 PM
I may look into 1/8 after I get the bridges out. It would require a lot of extra modelling work (ok...not work, but Open, Scale, Move, Save as, Move, Save as....36 times ><) (twice due to the 2 sets.)

It would then also have quite a large tree structure to open them all up, it's quite large now (too long IMO). Maybe some creative grouping (inside the importer) will have to be done to make it decent.

Will be a bit of work, but will take a look at it after my current set is done.

Only thing I can think of is that you're putting them in the wrong place. Make sure they extract to style\themed\[themename]. If the base ovls go into the style\themed folder, it might mess up the standard stuff.

If you are unsure of where it is extracting to, simply create a new folder somewhere, and extract them to there. Copy the [themename] folder into the style\themed folder and you should be working.

Beyond that. I don't know. They have all worked fine for me (except when I broke my own ><, but that's fixed), so I don't know what else it could be.

I know that I have put the folders under the "themed" folder.

Currently in "themed" is:

Vanilla (folder)

Space (folder)

Feen_Letters_Arial (folder)
Feen_Numbers_Arial (folder)

Hope that helps someone.

Caffinated

That may be what's crashing you...

My .../style/themed folder looks like:
http://cafeens_corner.tripod.com/RCT3/themed.jpg

It looks like your "Feen_Letters_Arial" and "Feen_Numbers_Arial" are in the wrong place. (Clicking into my "Feen_Letters_Arial" gives me those 2 folders as well as the 2 theme OVL files (style.common.ovl, style.unique.ovl).

Try just creating a new folder there named Feen_Letters_Arial, and copying the 2 "Feen_*_Arial" folders into it. If you have those 2 OVLs there, copy those into it too.

Also, not sure why your Vanilla folder is there while mine is under Style (unless you just copied it over to there?)

If that doesn't work...then I don't know. Delete any of the Feen_Letters stuff and try Klinn's, Pumper's, or Marnetmar's sets and see if you have the same trouble.

Caffeen,

I've found part of the problem. On my comp, TM shows a "KLN-EFiller01:sid" Obviously, that's part of Klinn's set, but I don't know why it's activating in a weird way.

After further testing, Pumper's Blox set as well as your letters work. Apparently, the problem is with Klinn's set.

edited at 10:50 AM ET)

After loading in the dark ride sets (something I've been looking forward to), the game crashed when it was sent to "Sandbox".

Here's the current set up of the "themed" folder on my comp.

While it's quite possible that multiple sets are interacting in some way we don't know about yet, so far my Electroshock set works fine so long as it has been installed correctly. That is, the zip archive was expanded in the correct location and the unzipping program created the subfolders required. (Please see my Electroshock thread for a detailed listing)

To the best of my knowledge, the only time anyone has received that "KLN-EFiller01:sid" error message has been when the files were accidentally put in the wrong place. (the whole path within RCT3 is stored in the OVL files, so it needs the correct subfolders etc)

Hope this helps...

Caffinated
06-13-2005, 01:57 PM
Don't think it's an interaction. As you see in my image, I have all the available sets installed (and have used them all) and things work ok.

Doublecheck your folder layers. In the first layer from Themed there should be the style.unique.ovl and style.common.ovl files as well as any subfolders created by the designer. If these are not in the "First folder out", then they are in the wrong place.

If they all look ok, then troubleshoot as below:

First, create a New Folder on the desktop. This will be a temp folder. Cut all custom scenery items out of Themed and paste into that new folder. Make sure you Cut (or Move..same thing) the folders into the new one, otherwise they will still be there and the testing won't work right. Start up the game.

If it works, then move on, if not, then your problem is with RCT itself.

Next, move the custom scenery folders that you cut into the themed folder one by one. Starting up the game (and trying out the pieces) in between each one. This will locate where the issue is.

Once you have found the issue, check that folder and see if you can spot what went wrong (normally will be folder structure and all that). If all else fails, delete the offending set and try redownloading (possible file corruption?).

If it STILL doesn't work, come back and maybe we can hammer out some sort of solution for ya :).

Strange things....

They all work fine on mine, as well as several others' systems. This suggests that the set itself is ok....

Only thing I can suggest at this point, is to remove the set entirely and restart the game. Mess around a bit and make sure it's stable. If it is...reinstall the set and make absolutly sure it's in the right place.

If it is, and it still doesn't work, I apologize and have no clue as to what could be wrong :(. You may just have to remove them and not use them at all :(.

They will work in an exisiting park if you open up the Scenario Editor, and then load your existing park. Then go to the "Setup Inventions" listing, and move the custom scenery over from the middle "To be set up during game" column to the right "Available from start" column.. (not the actual names of those columns, but close enough for you to figure out what I'm talking about)

Hope that helps!

There's actually a better way.

Open a new Sandbox.
Use all the letters and numbers in a section.
Save them as a building.
Exit that current park.

Open your exsiting park.
Load the building you made of letters and put it somewhere, then delete it. (you'll have to delete them one letter at a time for some reason)

Now you can use all the letters in your park. Hope this helps someone.

My RCT3 time is limited again, due to my boredom with WoW (World of Warcraft) fading. (New content + guildmates levelling up so I'm able to do stuff).

I did end my bridges project, too much work involved for what time I have now. If I do work on more scenery, it will be other formats for the letters tho (they're easier and I don't have to work much on the texturing ><). It's a possibility, but it won't happen anytime soon.

Wow these are cool. Just what we need in the game, adds that special touch. AWSOME work Caffinated your hard work to contribute to the game is well appricated. I can't wait to use them in my parks. SWEET !!!

Keep up the excellent work !

Edit>>>

You need to go back in and re-test each one of your letters for the wall mount ones. I've tried to use the S and it will not mount on the right side of the wall. Doesn't matter if I use the regular or Reversed....won't work.

PS. Why are there Reversed when you can rotate with Z ??

Great job with this set Caffine . I'm pretty late here but I finally downloaded them and am alreay using them in my new park. However, can someone please tell me how to get the ones that are flush against the wall? When I downloaded the set I only had the ones that stick out. I WAS able to fix this however with the office wall pieces and I'm happy with how it turned out. Here's a pic:

Hmm weird. I did test all the wall mounteds in game and they seemed to work fine for me...perhaps I did miss something? Will check it out.

The wall mount set is essentially a double set, two different looks can be achieved (deep and shallow), however, due to placement and the natural rotation of the game, using the Z to rotate will mess up the alignment. (they are 1/4 tile pieces...they will rotate around the center axis of the 1/4 tile. Since these pieces are much thinner and smaller than the whole 1/4 tile, using z wouldn't have worked without making them look really bad.)

<Edit>
Ok, just back from testing the placement of the letters and they do all appear just fine.

One thing I did notice, and have no way of adjusting (that I know of..), is that some of the letters have shorter draw distances than others. I don't know how the game decides this, whether it's based on poly count or whatever, but that's the only thing I see with the set.

Another thing to mention is that the placement of the letters is a bit funky. For the deep look, you place the letter from behind the wall and it pushes through, for the shallow set you place in front of the wall and it pushes most of the way in. I did it this way because that's how I started. To keep the letters and the walls on the same tile. I then noticed that a bunch of the letters were backwards, and at the same time I noticed the 2 different effects. That's why it was created that way :).

Something else to mention, placing the letters on the backside of a wall doesn't work very well, so there may be some working around that (can't do another set right now as I don't have a registered copy of Milkshape yet).

When I was bout to download it it says it might harm my cpu, will it? Will this give me viruis? Please answer!

The "might harm your CPU". Is a standard windows thing. I have scanned those files a few times through Norton AntiVirus and they are safe as of the date I placed on the page. If you wish to wait a few mins I will update and scan the ones again on my system just to be sure.

<edit>
Norton AV up to date and rescanned those files and they are clean. Always best to use your own AV programs as well whenever you download from the internet as a secondary precaution.

Since 2 of the files are .exe, this flags some stuff (generally these warnings), but I did that so people without a utility to extract .rar files could access the pieces.

Try checking again after closing the game out and restaring if it does not show up try re-installing the set. I have had some of the letters not show up that had been there before so I closed out the game restarted it and they were back.

So right now it is iconless and not an error on your part. If the piece itself isn't showing, that's a different issue. But, you are correct that there is no icon for H.

Possibly. I have registered Milkshape so I am able to do stuff again. It's just too time consuming for me at the moment (even 1 item like this will take me a few hours getting it sized, positioned, added to the package, importeed, tested, and reuploaded).

I'll see what I have time for, but I cannot promise anything.

first of all thank you for taking the time to create the set and put it up for download. The letters are nice but i'm having the following problem:

I installed the files and ran RCT3. I started a park in sandbox to fool around with the letters. They worked fine and I exited. The next day I wentt in to one of my existing parks (I started it before i downloaded your set) and tried to spell out the park name, but the only letter i could get was i. Do you know about this problem or what i'm doing wrong and is there anyway to fix it? here is a pic of the problem:

Did u start this as a sandbox park the second time or a custom scenario, cause if u did start as a custom scenario, it's your inventions list. So you only have that letter available at the moment ;)

Make sure that you did start it as a sandbox.

As mentioned, they are only available in a new sandbox or in the scenario editor. As for the "I" thing. I have absolutley no idea why that one doesn't have to be researched. Unless I accidently checked something when creating it (I don't think I did) there's is no real reason that should happen. Just one of those wierd things.

i looked everywhere i can't find them!!!

The standalone letters are in the Scenery Items under the Generic Theme. There is an expandable box (like the normal wall sets) for them.

The wall mounted ones can be found in the Walls, Roofs, Etc. area. They are in the generic theme and they are all setup as Wall Misc (this means they'll show up if the cylinder at the bottom that corresponds to misc "wall" items is active).

If you still cannot find them, make sure you're in a new sandbox or scenario editor. If you still still can't find them, you installed them into the wrong place (My documents maybe?).

The no :svd or :sid error means that you installed into the incorrect place within the style/themed area.

The proper folder tree should look like:
Style
-Themed
--Feen_Letters_Wall*
---Feen_Letters_Wall*
---Feen_Numbers_Wall*
---style.common.ovl
---style.unique.ovl

(*for the standalone set these will say Arial instead of Wall)

To remove an incorrect installation, simply delete the folder that has the wrong structure and reinstall the theme to the proper folder.

The Feen_Letters_[setname] folder is included in the rar file, so simply extracting it to the Style/Themed folder will set it up correctly.

Alec

Caffinated
08-14-2005, 02:25 AM
Yep yep, these are the 1/8th tile letters from awhile ago :).

This set will feature:
- Letters A-Z aligned for both left and right side of the 1/4 tile piece
- Numbers 0-9, also aligned for both left and right of the 1/4 tile
- A few common symbols (apostrophe and dash, if I get ambitious maybe a few others, but nothing promised)

Most of the modelling is done (A-Z,0,1 both lefts and rights), and the importer should be pretty quick (I love the Save SID feature of v11.1 :))

Unless I get sidetracked, I should have these out pretty quickly (a few days tops for this set, not counting the touch ups of the current wall mounted set.)

The textures will all be the same as the other sets, a basic flat texture that is single color recolorable. No other textures planned for now.

With the Soaked ability to use the scroll button for the list, a long long list is no longer such an issue, I may break it up a bit though so it's not that bad. (I will break numbers, letters, and symbols up into different "packs").

Question for packaging though, I have 3 options to package the letters, would you rather have:
A) A single long list of A-Z with both left and right sides (left and right reference which side of the 1/4 tile they sit on)
B) 2 Lists, A-Z left, and A-Z right
C) 2 Lists, A-M Left and Right, N-Z Left and Right.

Let me know which you would prefer.

ytivarg
08-14-2005, 02:38 AM
I'd have to say A... with a second pack for numerals and symbols.

Can you imagine what a pain in the rear option B would be? Flipping back and forth between lists for every letter? Gah... no thanks! :haha:

C, again... somewhat a pain, but not as much as B...

A would definetley be the most logical, especially now that Soaked supports the mouse-wheel... the long list is almost a non-issue.

shapiro
08-14-2005, 02:57 AM
Caffinated,

A) A single long list of A-Z with both left and right sides (left and right reference which side of the 1/4 tile they sit on)

A-Z right sides are look good. And Left sides is okay for me. These left sides for crazy letters. I can do that.

B) 2 Lists, A-Z left, and A-Z right
C) 2 Lists, A-M Left and Right, N-Z Left and Right.

B and C 's same things. ther's no plm with me.

Anyway, I'll looking forward those letters for small letters...

convtang,

I am glad to see you working on these. It will be nice to have the two size options.

I think option A for the pack would make the most sense as it matches your previous packs.

Also, you might think about adding the ampersand "&" to the pack as it would probably be used alot.

That's good sound with me for add "&". I need to those one.

I was thinking though, looking at PN' Oblivion sign, I wonder, if you could do a new letter pack, which will actually go into the ground, horizontally and not vertically. What ya' think?

Page 2 now tho! (erm..1 again after this reply, not that it really matters anyway, those who will want them will find the thread, those who don't care won't bother with it :)).

Sidetracked again! (Blame Blizzard for WoW high end stuff being so fun...and work for being so busy :(). This set and the updated wall set (will just release as a 2nd set containing a few symbols, so it shouldn't conflict with the current set that's there) should be out sometime...this weekend is doubtful due to workload (dev team has a big huge "make the date or call unemployment" release next friday). But this part of the set is almost done.

Making a new pack with horizonals won't be too big a deal, it's just a matter of rotating the current models in Milkshape and redoing all the ASE, OVLs and that stuff. The nicest thing about this set, and the others that go in the same line (so all the letter variations) is that I can use the same icon sheet in between them all. (once I make some nicer Icons too...the current ones are pretty ugly :p).

Would it be preferable to use this set, the wall mounted set, or both? (remember, it takes me awhile to put out stuff...cuz I'm slow :))

I have decided to release the small letters all as one list. (well, 3 really Leters, Numbers, Symbols), I too think that would be the best way.

Waiting on 3rd party devs is so much fun...especially when they're multiple hours late ><.

I see this ending sooner than expected...so now's the time to get requests in for other special characters (note: all special characters will be released in standalone AND wall mounted format as well. Since the process that I developed goes from Big size then shrunken to standalone, then resized to wallmount, then specific scaling to these small ones :))

That should make some people happy.

Currently I have already made:
Ampersand ( & )
Dash (-) (I may have used the "Ndash" () for this, don't remember)
Apostrophe (')

I plan on adding in:
Parenthises (())
Square brackets ([])
Curly Brackets ({})

I also have the following in Stand-alone size (models only, I never went through with making these into ovls), so wouldn't be much of a big deal to create them for all sets:
Asterisk (*)
At (@)
Carat (^)
Quotes (both open and close for positioning reasons, not angled at all)
Colon ( : )
Comma (,)
Degree ()
Division ()
Dollar ($)
Equal (=)
Exclamation (!)
Multiplication ()
Number (#)
Percent (%)
Period (.)
Plus (+)
Semi-colon ( ; )

If I can find them on my character map, other currency symbols may also be available... (cent (), GBP (), Yen (), Euros () ...can't find others that are still in use (Lira, French Franc both replaced by Euros).

The most basic ones I will include at the release of the small set. I will then go back and create another pack/update the packs with the more complex ones.

Let me know now what is the most wanted/needed so I have a list at hand when I start pumping out these models :).

Slammed with work through the weekend (yay for adding last minute changes to my plate...just as it was getting manageable) :(

ETA for the basic set should be at least a week and a half (no promises though...my job is very sporadic and I could easily get slammed again when this settles down).

The accent symbol is a possibility, as is the grave accent (I think that's the official name.. the ` thingy, used in latin based languages a lot?). But that ends up opening into stuff that I don't know too well (umulats for german...all that funky stuff for Scandinavian languages, and so on...) If I do any of this foreign (to me :p) language stuff, it'll come later after the basic letters + numbers and English (US) symbols are out.

With the symbols though, you can do stuff like 451F, 1 0, X^Y, and some other interesting looking names ;). (Yes I'm a nerd so these will probably end up on something of mine in the future).

I haven't seen Caffinated around in awhile, but I'm pretty certain he made these letters with the text generator in the Milkshape modeler program.

Same here...it's like Caffinated just totally left us...for good!!! I don't know, maybe he's on vacation or something and he can't get to the internet. How am I supposed to know?

-Edit: Wait a second...it's been over a month now!!! Has he forgotten the forums?

Not only that, the caffinated letters dont work properly with Wild! (they have the same bug as some other scenery does :( )

You can use it, but you'll have to deal with the error message boxes popping up.

I just got Wild, but have not tested out the letters yet. Marnetmar, can you somehow contact Cafeen and ask if you can edit the letters for Wild? Because Cafeen left the boards and you have to contact him someway else.

He hasn't posted a message in quite a while. He's most likely left us.

I'll try to get a message to him, but I haven't seen him around in quite awhile.

First read the thread title: "Custom Scenery - Letters {On hold for now, sorry}" - that's a clue.

Then look at the date of the last few posts: "10-20-2007, 10:21 PM", "05-18-2006, 07:14 PM", "12-31-2005, 01:25 PM"

If the set has been released- especially from that long ago, then you should be able to get it from here: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8152481&postcount=1 (which is a post that's in the top section of this forum.

Of course, you could read the fourth post up http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7378699&postcount=154 (which states that the download is the 6th link down on Sebar's page, but it's actually the 7th)

If all that fails, you could try from here: http://www.vodhin.org/e107/download.php?view.118

The "sebar" link for this CS, and apparently many other CS sets listed as being at sebar on the official CS list, is broken.

Try Vodhin's links; the ones he posted above you.

The Vodhin site was down when I tried it. I know now that it was only temporary and the site is fully functional. Honestly, I have looked for other CS where sebar is the only indicated source on searching the web. Of course I can't remember what those were now to make my point, so I'll just say thanks for steering me back to the Vodhin site.
