The THIRD edition of the World Reknown Quiklink is now here!

To use this on your comp, create a folder. Extract the zip into it, open folder and choose send to desktop on the rctlink.htm file and you're good to go!

Ten new additions and 5 of the bad links fixed 8-25-05

What it does: The RCT QL is a tool for your desktop, gathering links from sites to add-ons, tutorials, and other resources without you being required to go to a site, or find a site, or search a newsgroup for that elusive post. Basically, it's a webpage for your system with handy one click access to all things RCT (That are known)
NOTE: This is not for parks, tracks, structures, movies, screens which are numerous and easily shared. It's for additional rexources for RCT and additions to the game.

Get it here:
Quiklink (http://modstothemax.net/games/rct3/designersdatabase/theskipper/tutorials/rctlink.zip)

Modders! Developers! Instructors! Send me a p.m. for anything you have that's not included, or when you have something you want in it. This is a great rexource to unify and create ease in keeping up to date on new "toyz"

Excellent Stuff, Skipper!

I'll need to spend a few hours going through some of this stuff, but I can tell right now that this file should be pasted into every "How do I.....?" question. It'll save a LOT of time and effort.

Anyone still with those types of questions, get this NOW:)

Awsome!

I also think its just easier to upload it to a website!

http://rct3.gatesofreach.com/rctlinks/

Don't worry, just send me new versions of it, and I'll update it :D

TheSkipper

It can be, however, that's not the intent. It's made for people to have easy access from their computer. I'd rather not have it on sites.

I'm sorry, I didn't see anyone forcing you to use it.

How about you stop being rude now? ;)

I never said you don't have to be online, I said you don't need to search posts, search sites, or be connected TO a site. There is a difference.
It is both, a webpage ON your computer that is a tool to get info and goodies for RCT 3.

Hey, I just make my points loud and clear! :)

ANYBODY is right, however no one but me even thought of it, or did it.

The point is that to use it you have to be online to download, however, you can review and make choices while offline.
Out of 247 downloads, 246 understand it, and you don't? Like WalklingSnake said, don't use it, then...

06-15-2005, 03:10 AM
Try this one, we Did just move all our forums today, first opp I've had to get it over. Note" original links at top also corrected.
http://modstothemax.net/mttm_forums/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=10001.0;id=292

NOTE!! Something about our new boards, makes files download as "index", be sure to notice this and change it to "RCTlink.zip"
before saving!!!

Will I get spam if I register? I have only gotten three pieces of spam in the entire history of my email account, and I want to keep it that way.

TheSkipper
06-15-2005, 11:07 AM
You should NOT need to register to download from our site, never been a requirement, and should not now, or ever be required. Besides, this is a private paid for dedicated server, no spam, no virus, no spyware, adware, ever.

LightWarriorK
06-15-2005, 11:34 AM
It's a good site.

The whole modding stuff is beyond me, as I don't have the time to get into it, but it seems to be a fairly close-knit, cozy site.

El Scotto
06-15-2005, 12:53 PM
Sorry, Skipper, but when I click on the link here for the download, the forums come up and say that I need to log in. I signed up using a Yahoo! AddressGuard alias though, so if I get spam, it will be isolated. I'm still waithing for the confirmation.

TheSkipper
06-15-2005, 12:54 PM
We will have to correct that, Scotto, I went through admin and couldn't locate where to allow guest downloads, so go to top post, and use the new link in red.... Thanx....

There's only a link to a website, a gif file, and a banner. Is that what it's supposed to be?

TheSkipper
06-15-2005, 01:17 PM
Read the directions, the htm is sort of a link, it's a page FOR the desktop. Inside of it, without hunting for sites or links, you just click to gather the resources.

Blackroot

Very cool resource, Skipper!! :D But I do have one question -- will this 'site' be updated , or will we have to download a new one whenever it is updated? I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I was just wondering what will happen when Soaked! is released?!
Thanks.

TheSkipper

As tutorials an modules are made, a new version will be available to download with the changes and just overwrite the one you already have. The Attention title will reflect a new version as version #2, etc. It will always keep (I hope) the same link to get it for your computer.

07-07-2005, 11:22 AM
Skipper, can you repost the link for those who didn't receive it before, and is an update in progress?

TheSkipper
07-07-2005, 03:41 PM
Sure, Joetom,
The direct link to the file is:
http://modstothemax.net/mttmcommunity/download.php?id=1911

Version 2 may be next week.

TheSkipper

Update! Now enough new things are out to make this a worthwhile upgrade to edition #2.
Go to original post link to get it.

It probably will be a lot less time now until edition #3 is required.
Please note all the items marked with NEW!

Also note you can always chck your "edition" by just scrolling to the bottom.

Hope everyone continues to find it a useful little "tool"

tikitiki
07-20-2005, 02:23 PM
Is there a new link or is it the old link?

TheSkipper
07-21-2005, 01:55 AM
The same link should apply, to be sure, just open the file and check at the bottom right it should be #2 7-19-2005

joetomnj
07-21-2005, 07:34 PM
Also remind them Skipper that the zip file is the same name as the original one. They can just copy over that one when they download it. It's what's inside the zip that is updated.

Skipper, although I had seen this thread when it was first posted I hadn't done anything about until now. Now I've got it I have noticed a few things so far listed below:-

Coaster Cars Tutorial - takes you to a page that is the same, different colour!

Biturn 3D link broken.

GMax 1.2 link broken.

RCT3 Dump 9 link broken.

Would it be possible to add some text as to whether a clickable link is a 'file' or a 'page' etc?

Good job though!

Dean all the RCT 3 mateial in this for now is tutorials and custom scenery.
NOTE: For now this will fix the coaster car tutorial link, as for the others, I have to get info from those who furnished the links.

Here's the correct link to the page for the Biturn file format converter. There's a few different versions, I think most are using the V0.85 with no troubles.

If these are the letters made by Caffinated, they should both be exe files & are self extracting. You just need to save them to your desktop, or someplace that's easy to find & then double click on the icon to extract them into your game.

Once this is done you should see them in a sandbox park with no problems. I might also add I believe this exe is set up to extract them with the game installed on your "C" drive, if you have it installed on another drive, you'll need to change the path to the correct drive before extracting them.

You don't need to right click on it, just double click on the html file & it'll open up just like a web page.

He was trying to create a shortcut I think. RCTManiac, this list is VERY out-dated and doesn't have a LOT of the stuff done since the date on the bottom of that html file. Not sure I will be re-doing it.
