Hi I'm fairly new to these boards and I thought I would make a recreation of SFKK. It's going to be as accurate as possible, and since Soaked! is coming out soon I can probably achieve this.

Click here for screenshots (http://www.geocities.com/mrpki/sfkk_rendition.html)

I've seen a couple of attempts at this park before but thought I'd make my own. Any comments or ideas are welcome.

06-18-2005, 07:19 PM
I have never been there but it looks pretty good from the pics.

Keep up the good work.

06-18-2005, 07:33 PM
Thanks, for the comment.

I do have some bad news though. I accidentally overwrote the park because instead of trying to load the game, I saved it in the scenario editor, leaving me with a blank park.

I've already rebuilt the park entrance with some modifications and it shouldn't take me too long to get back to the point I was at but it is really frustrating to lose all that work.    I might just wait a few days for Soaked! before I do much more. I've heard that there may be the possibility of diagonal paths, which would help with the park's layout alot. Construction will probably resume in a few days.

06-18-2005, 07:54 PM
Well somewhere here someone found out how to do diagonal paths just it wouldn't work right in this park, sorry you lost the park.

I did. Not many people were interested in it. But yeah, it was using a Sultan Tile peice which wouldn't really go with a Six Flags park.

Edit: Here's the link to the topic, it shows you how to do them. http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=457654&highlight=Diagonal+Paths

06-18-2005, 08:19 PM
Thats cool.^^I never really looked at how you did that.

After a couple of weeks, (and getting Soaked) I have resumed building my KY Kingdom park. A have built the main entrance, Hellevator, and about half the kiddie area. Here are some screens.
The remodled main entrance (which I think looks better than before)
The Hellevator and entrance fountains
Bigfoot, the kiddie monster trucks. It's not nearly done yet but I built the layout.
This is the Looney Tunes Acme Fun Factory, an interactive play structure. Inside there are guns used to shoot people with foam balls. I used water cannons instead.
Here's the finished Acme Fun Factory.

I need some ideas on how to simulate such rides as a ballon race, himalaya, and kiddie planes. I usually just use rides that look similar, but these are kinda tough. Anyone have any ideas?

06-28-2005, 10:00 AM
Looks great! I love KK. I've gotten a season pass for the past 3 years. I probably won't next year though. Its getting kinda boring. I could close my eyes and tell you what's going to happen as we ride 4 of the 6 coasters.

Great start, man. Sorry you lost the file. :(

07-01-2005, 05:06 PM
Here's another update. The front half of the park is almost complete. It's just missing a few shops and stalls and 3 rides (Yosemite Sam's Hollywood Flight School, Himalaya, and Awound the World in 80 Seconds). I'm still not sure how I'm going to make those rides or even if I'll add them at all yet. Anyway, here a few pics:

The Looney Tunes Movie Store (with no sign; any ideas) and the amphitheatre

A new pic of the skyline from the park entrance

The Skycoaster (I tried making a parking lot but it isn't finished yet)

The entrance area of Road Runner Express (notice the crags;))

Greezed Lightnin' from the other side of the road that divides the park

Taken while riding Greezed Lightnin'

I'm about to start construction on the other side of the park, so look for pics of Hurricane Bay, Swampwater Jack's and the surrounding areas soon.

07-04-2005, 06:16 PM
Here's another short update...

Swampwater Jack's, a dine-in restaurant
Roller Skater, the park's kiddie coaster
The "Giant Wheel" Please Frontier, we need a real giant wheel!
The beginnings of Hurricane Bay. So far I only have the wave pool and main entrance.
More updates soon.

07-05-2005, 02:58 PM
I got a large amount of work done on today so here's some pics

Hurricane Bay wave pool with added wave machine building and life guards. I still have to add the lazy river, water play structurel, and 4 slides.

The Thrill Karts (upcharge go-karts) are finished

Chang (B&M stand-up coaster) finished exept for a few minor details

Chang and Thrill Karts

Chang's lift hill

Chang glides through a corkscrew

Please respond with opinions:) I've just been kinda building without comment lately.

07-05-2005, 04:46 PM
chang looks good! Would defenitly like to see more of this wonderful coaster.

07-05-2005, 05:06 PM
Good Job! Keep it up.:) Just a couple of suggestions though. Greezed Lightnin's supports are blue, and that color green is wrong for Chang. You should just use the bright yellow. The thrill park theater and store look a little close to the amphitheatre(sp?). Other than that, great job.:)

07-05-2005, 05:11 PM
I like the kids play zone. That looks great! I havent been there but I have been to the six flags in Maryland and they have one too. Keep going, I think it looks great!

07-05-2005, 05:31 PM
Thanks for the comments everyone. No one was paying attention to my work. I'll fix those things you mentioned mudvayneimn. Although I don't know how much more yellow I can make Chang without coloring it completely yellow. I know Chang was painted yellow and black when it opened but now is green and purple. Then (http://www.rcdb.com/ig275.htm?picture=1) Now (http://www.rcdb.com/ig275.htm?picture=7)

I'll be visiting the park soon so I should be able to fix some of the distance errors.

07-05-2005, 06:06 PM
you should definatley use yellow for chang...also the beginning of the little drop when you get off the lift has a dip in the middle it is also banked. Just some suggestions...i live in Louisville and i have ridden that coaster so many times. :noob: :noob:

Me too!:) I remember one season a couple years back when it was very cold on opening day I rode it and the trims on the mcbr weren't on or something and the second half of the ride was so intense and smooth, it was awsome. The two rides later my harness and stuff disengaged on the lift and locked back during the inclined loop. At first it scared the crap outta me, but then for some reason I found it to be the rush of a lifetime!:D

But yeah, with Chang on this game it would be best to just make it the bright yellow color instead of the green. I can't wait to see how you do Twisted Twins. Also, I have a recreation of T2 if you want it.

07-05-2005, 09:12 PM
Twisted Twins is going to be tough, but hopefully I can pull it off. Like I said, I'll be visiting the park soon and I'll be able to look at the layout a bit more. As for T2, I have a copied design of the regular SLC from RCT2, so unless there is a real difference in design I don't think I'll need any help, but thanks anyway.:)

07-05-2005, 10:52 PM
i have to say that is a pretty good recreation of Roller Skater...lol...actually that is a fun coaster ummm...it is looking good so far. as long as you know what they look like you should have no problem remaking twisted twins...Good Luck

07-05-2005, 11:18 PM
Thanks, I think I only had to leave one turn out of Roller Skater; plus I have to use ladybird trains:rolleyes:. Other than that it worked pretty well. It's sort of suprising actually.

I slightly changed Chang's color so it has a lighter tint. This picture is weird though, cause in the game it looked so much more realistic than this

mc_joe asked for more shots of Chang so here's a couple I like.

I also started building Hook's Lagoon (water play structure). I could only build the slides by looking at pictures. I know there's a giant bucket that overhangs the entire thing, but having never been into that part of the waterpark I'm kinda lost after that.

I'll have a bigger update tomorrow. Stay tuned;)

07-06-2005, 01:10 AM
looks good so far...i still say change should be light yellow...but whateva. Anyways keep up the good work and if you need any coaster help just PM i will if i have to make a coaster for you.;) Keep us updated!

07-07-2005, 10:50 AM
Sorry I didn't update yesterday like I said. Imageshack wasn't working for me. Here's some new pics

I fixed the top of Chang's lift so it has the little dip.

I also finally remembered to recolor Greezed Lightnin's supports

Here's a shot of the Group Sales Picnic Area

I added the food court outside Hurricane Bay

Here are some shots of T2 and the surrounding area

Tell me what you think.:)

07-07-2005, 10:37 PM
Here's another short update.

I built The Great Race, a kiddie cars ride.

The Frightfully Funny Freefalling Fire Engine No. 9 (that is the longest ride name I've ever heard:haha: )

Lastly, I started working on Thunder Run, but the layout slipped my mind a little so I have to look it up now. I'm not that far yet.

Comments welcome:)

07-07-2005, 11:28 PM
the fist little drop on Chang is still off... i will make it for you if you want. Just so you wont have ti do it over...keep it coming!

07-08-2005, 09:06 AM
Yeah, you can just post a pic so I can change it. Is the drop supposed to dip one level, level off, the dip another level and bank at the same time? Hopefully that made sense. I remember it looked really weird in the front car, but forget exactly why.

07-08-2005, 10:34 AM
i will just post a pic ;)

07-08-2005, 08:14 PM
Ok that's probably better anyway:)

07-08-2005, 08:57 PM
here goes what the first little drop looks like...http://n.1asphost.com/sboots/Shot0016.JPG

07-08-2005, 09:09 PM
Wow, really that seems kinda deep. Maybe that's just the game though. I'll work on fixing that tomorrow when I put up another update. Thanks for your help.:)

07-08-2005, 09:26 PM
anytime..i am all about helping people...i think the park looks authentic! Keep it comin

07-09-2005, 04:43 PM
Here's the next update: I have finished Thunder Run and most of the Belgian Village area, including Flying Dutchmen and International Carousel. I also started building Mile High Falls. Here are more pics...

The nearly completed Belgian Village

A close up of the International Carousel and Flying Dutchmen

Construction has begun on Mile High Falls

I fixed Chang's dip again with help from jammin420s:up:

Right now I need to expand the land area to accomodate for Twisted Twins and the back half of Mile High Falls. It's going to take a little while though because of how slow it runs while expanding, but eventually it will be done. In the mean time, I will be visiting the park this week and will be able to find out any errors I have made during construction. The main rides that remain to be built are Twisted Twins, Penguin's Blizzard River, Hook's Lagoon, Caribbean Cruise, Mt. Slide Hai, Tornado, and Top Eliminator Dragsters. By the way does anyone have any ideas on how I can do the Zepplin ride? Here's a pic for those who don't know what it is. Zepplin (http://www.flatrides.com/Ride%20Index/ZamperlaZepplin.jpg)

I might have another update soon with more of Mile High Falls. Comment welcome.:)

07-09-2005, 05:17 PM
awesome...when are you going this week... i think i am going this week. LOL looking great. what are you using for TED? just curious...keep it comin

07-09-2005, 06:45 PM
Were going on Tuesday, I believe. As for TED, I'm not completely sure but a strata coaster might work (except for the fact that there will be a lot of people in the train instead of one driver). Is there a type of launch coaster that has single cars?

07-09-2005, 09:18 PM
 Chang looks FREAAAKKKAAAYYYY!!! =D Great Work!!
You could just use the chairswing... but you already have one
hmm good luck with that!

07-09-2005, 09:34 PM
Actually I already have 2 chairswings in the park (the kiddie one and the adult one).;) I could use one though, I'll just have to see what happens. Thanks for the complement.

07-09-2005, 10:09 PM
I'd say you could use the Aeileron(sp?) attraction if you haven't already. It has the same motion as the zepplins, it just doesn't look like a blimp. You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work. :D

07-10-2005, 02:50 PM
This will be the last update for a few days. Since I'm out of knowledge on some of the ride layouts. I will continue to expand the land though.

I started Top Eliminator Dragsters with some launched mini coasters. I must say they turned out pretty good; I just need to make a few adjustments.

Here's the entrance of Top Eliminator Dragsters

I also built the Zepplin ride. I would have made it an Alerion, but there wasn't enough room on the plot of land for it. It looks kinda funny to see two chairswings right next to each other.;)

I might still update on Mile High Falls, but I'm not sure of something. Does the lift go over or under the drop? Not sure if anyone remembers but I thought I'd ask.

07-14-2005, 03:44 PM
Well I'm back from the park after a very rainy Tuesday. We had fun, and bought our season passes so we can go again. I have a small update before I go out of town for the weekend.

Tornado...After seeing what it looked like in the park I knew how to make it. Its presense is enormous when you're right up next to it. Sadly, they closed Hurricane Bay just before we got in line so I didn't get to ride. Oh well, I'll ride it next time. Heres the pic.

Here's a shot of the Penguin's Blizzard River. I need to go over the layout some more, but I built the station.

I expect I will be able to put up the download next week sometime. There's still alot to go, but it shouldn't take too long. Comments welcome.:)

07-14-2005, 04:42 PM
lookin awesome...wish i had soaked so i could look at this. :(
Looks fantastic from the pics...i didnt go on that tuesday. I could help you out with the layout for blizzard rive if you want. Just email me or PM me or IM me.:noob:

07-18-2005, 10:05 AM
Too bad you don't have Soaked. I didn't realize that. I have an arial view of Blizzard River I got off a site that takes satellite photos.

For anyone who wants to see I wrote a trip report from my SFKK trip last week. Here's the link (http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/forums/cgi/forum1.cgi?read=161232). I hope to have an update soon. It's still possible that the download will be up this week, I'll just have to see.

07-18-2005, 12:03 PM
Ive come to realise that if you look at a park you need to post otherwise they get depressed because of what happened to my park, (link in sig) so here I am, your park is great! I really like it! keep it up.

07-18-2005, 02:29 PM
Thanks for your comment. I posted in your thread too. Hope to see more of your parks.:)

07-18-2005, 03:21 PM
Looks great!
Heres a resource you may find useful. Its a site with theme park timelines - changes made year to year (rides - pricing - accidents - -and the most useful, name changes) from the parks beginning to the present. I'm finding it helpful with my Six Flags St. Louis park recreation.
I'll link you straight to the Kentucky Kingdom page.

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Timeline (http://timelines.home.insightbb.com/sfkk_years.htm)

Too bad they got rid of the haunted coaster "Vampire", you could have set it to break down often - lol.

07-18-2005, 04:23 PM
Funny you should mention this since I actually have that website in my favorites list. I must have re-read that website top to bottom especially the SFKK and PKI material. I need to look at some of the shop and restaurant name changes this year for SFKK. Thanks for reminding me.

I'll return the favor. If you're ever unsure of the layout of the park in certain spots and you only have a park map then try this: Terraserver (http://terraserverusa.com/image.aspx?T=4&S=8&Z=15&X=14053&Y=85306&W=3&qs=4900+Six+Flags+Road%7cEureka%7cMO%7c&Addr=4900+Six+Flags+Rd%2c+Pacific%2c+MO+63069&ALon=-90.6804738&ALat=38.5093954). It's the sattelite site I was talking about earlier. I set it to what I think is SFSL's park entrance.

07-18-2005, 07:12 PM
Thats awesome!
Man this will really come in handy and also destroy everything I've done so far - lol!
Thanks for the link!

P.S. - They seem to be due for an update, they are still displaying 2002. I didn't really notice till I saw the "excalibur" missing.

07-18-2005, 09:19 PM
Yeah that's how SFKK's is too. 2002 seems to be the newest thing they have on that site. You're actually pretty lucky SFSL isn't like 1984 and black and white or something, lol! Look for an update soon on how that site helped me build....Twisted Twins. (Dramatic music starts playing in the backround). It will come very soon....Mwahahahahaha.;)

07-18-2005, 09:49 PM
Here is the promised update. I started working in an empty park to stop lag until I place the ride in the real park. It stops all the crashes I have for now. Anyway here is Twisted Twins.

A pic of the station

Lola and Stella pass each other as they ascend the lift

One of the three dueling points

Here is an arial shot of what I made compared to an arial shot of the real thing.

I should have a Blizzard River or Mile High Falls update tomorrow; it depends on how busy I am. Comments welcome.:)

07-19-2005, 01:00 AM
Most impressive build of Twisted Twins (Sisters...I can't believe they got so many complaints on the original name). Can't wait for you to release this park. I haven't been to Six Flags Kentucky since 2002, and I'm looking forward to strolling through your remake.

07-19-2005, 06:41 AM

Actually, I had thought of doing a 1971-2005 senario with the help of that timeline site, using the challenges in the senario editor to list the changes for the year.
I still might sometime later, but for now I'm just going to recreate SFSL 2005. I have a question for you though. What is the scale of the your SFKK park? Judging from that terra site, in order to do a full scale SFSL park, my grid would have to be 240x160, which is insane.

07-19-2005, 08:28 AM
I'm still constantly expanding it. Right now its probably 147x147 or something (that's an estimate cause I don't remember). What I really should have done is make the park 254x254(max?) because the lag for expanding land is terrible.

07-19-2005, 09:08 AM
I just attempted a 200x200 grid - it didn't take long for it to crash my game, and all I had was the parking lot without cars!
I may have to go half scale if it does it again.

07-21-2005, 03:55 PM
Here's something small.

Mile High Falls is finally finished so here's a pic of it.

I also built a rough version of Mt. Slide Hai. It's actually too big for the park so I have to fix it up a bit before it fits in the park.

The rest of the park is coming along slowly but surely. I mean to get it done soon, but we'll see what happens. Comments welcome.:)

07-22-2005, 05:56 PM
Here's one more pic. I finished Hook's Lagoon last night. It's not that great, but it's okay for RCT.

I currently working on a park for DWWilkin's small park competition, so the updates will happen less often. I aiming to finish this by the end of the month though. Comments welcome.:)

07-29-2005, 10:21 AM
I have transplanted Mt. Slide Hai into the park which completes Hurricane Bay.:D Here's a pic of it.

That's the last update for a while since I'm going on vacation on Sunday for two weeks. I still need to finish Blizzard River and Twisted Twins. Hopefully not much more. Comments welcome.:)

08-09-2005, 01:35 AM
hey wow thats lookin awesoke but how bad is the lag? Can u throw us an aerial pic of the whole park as it is at the mo. but anyway it looks awesome. keep it up!!!

08-09-2005, 01:19 PM
Ah, Kentucky Kingdom. I had season passes there last year. But now I've moved, so i dont get to go anymore... Where near KK do you live? I lived right near it in louisville.

08-09-2005, 01:53 PM
i post this same post in every single park

number of bballdudes custom scenario parks in 4 months

08-15-2005, 10:37 PM
In answer to all these questions.

>The lag is pretty bad sadly.
>I hope to release it soon as in within a month(I know I keep saying that).
>It is impossible to get a full arial of the park because of how big it is. I could probably get two pics that make up an arial view, but my game would crash if I tried. It's best to run it very close to ground level.

Thanks for the comments.:) I thought sure no one would post in this while I was gone.

08-21-2005, 09:20 PM
I got some headway on the park finally. Twisted Twins has been installed and I am almost done with Blizzard River! Here's a pic of the Twins.

I should be able to release the park within a few days if I can get one more good building session in. Comments welcome.:)

08-21-2005, 09:44 PM
Whoah! How did I miss this. I've been to that friggin park so much that I can close my eyes and remember what happens on the rides. Great job. Please change the color of Chang, though. It's bright yellow with purple rails. Green just looks like puke.

Great job, dude. I've been there too much, so I'd know if it is accurate or not, and it is! Awesome!

So. Indiana's better! :P

08-21-2005, 09:58 PM

I've had so many comments about Chang's color now that I think I'll just have to change it. Somehow my eye's seem different from everyone else's lol. Thanks for the complement.

So. Indiana's better! :P
I am going to visit HW next year (Voyage looks so awesome) so I'll see if you're right.

08-22-2005, 10:48 AM
I am very close to done now that I have completed Blizzard River. I just need to put in a few odds and ends and then it will be released. Here are a couple pic.

Blizzard River

Six Flags Arena

Comments Welcome.:)

08-22-2005, 03:33 PM

That arena is actually "Paramarx" arena. Just letting you know.

Park looks awesome, dude! Great work! A+++++++++++++

08-22-2005, 05:22 PM
My 2004 park map does say it's Paramarx arena, but my 2005 park map says it's called Six Flags Arena. So I'm going with '05.:D By the way I changed Chang to yellow.
And now for the big news. Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is now open!!

Download link (http://rapidshare.de/files/4282672/Six_Flags_Kentucky_Kingdom.zip.html)

A few comments. This park has a lot of lag. If your computer can't handle that very well then I suggest you run it on pause. One other thing is that I will probably come out with a revised edition once Wild comes out. It will include a few new rides plus some improved ones *cough*Giant Wheel*cough*.

Please tell me what you think of my recreation.:D

08-22-2005, 05:24 PM

08-22-2005, 05:41 PM
Before I download, can you tell me your specs and what FPS you have with those specs, thanks.

08-22-2005, 05:42 PM
Sorry if this is a dumb question. How do I find out those two things?

08-23-2005, 01:24 AM
hey ummmmm this sounds stupid but am i meant 2 be dloading an empty park. i dloaded it and opened it and all it is an empty park! please help

08-23-2005, 08:02 AM
You mean my download is a blank park when you open it. Hmmm...I'll look into it but I was sure I had the right file. Did anyone else have this problem; it says I have 12 downloads?

Edit: You were right. Sorry. The new download link is in my other post now.:)

07-31-2006, 10:09 PM
Great Job! A couple things are off but looking good!

07-31-2006, 10:39 PM
Wow, I'm suprised that download link still works! Thanks for your interest in my park..........lol that last post was from almost a year ago.

Just don't post it here... He put the download only for you to have fun...

When a thread is this old, don't post. Other amazing threads deserve the first page.
