Woah, very cool coaster! I really like the colors of it.

Excellent job on the supports; they look very well done. Same with the rocks, they look great! You actually took the time to rotate them so they don't look the same, kudos for that!

One thing I'm not so fond about though, are those randomly-placed Tulips.

Oh there's a reason for them.. ;)

It annoys me how they're in, blocks.. But it's a picture from my garden park.

Ah yes, I see. It is annoying how they are in blocks, they would be so much better if they were scattered, or just more realistic.

But they aren't that bad! I would suggest next time, to use the "flowery grass" ground texture next time. It would look a lot better! [IMO].

Methinks that sun was Photoshopped in. Haven't seen one that big in RCT3. Not that (minor) editing makes a shot any worse. Nice how you got the lens flare in the game at just the right angle for the sun, though.

Why thank you, sir. The roof and gazebo floor, as well as quite a few plants, were all taken from Moki's newest set, entitled "Tangram Gardens (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=657810)". The trim around the flower beds --the dark wood structures-- were crafted from Ralfvieh's "Medieval (http://www.schulung-berlin.de/rct/)" set.

Off topic, perhaps, but I wanted to add: I adore your avatar. :noob:

And I thank you as well! Looking at it, it looks very much like something you'd see in a small, home-town amusement park as it's center base, or perhaps something in a particularly ritzy town park.

Ya know, Bakaneko, I love looking at what the far too few females do on the forums--more often than not it's great to look at; your styles are so wonderfully different than most of the other male-designed stuff around here (not to overgeneralize or stereotype in any way). I'm not sure how much I've ever commented on your work before, but I'm constantly blown away by how beautiful each picture you post is. Keep it up! This might seem like a silly question, but how often do you post threads in the exchange? It seems like I haven't seen you around there as much, and considering that's where I so often frequent, I feel like I'm missing out. I look forward to more pictures/content from you.

To begin, allow me to thank you full-heatedly for the kind compliments, sir! It's quite the honor, really, as you're one of the project creators I most admire for your style and attention to detail. I agree that my style differs rather from many of the other's here, but that may be due to how I approach my work: incredibly slowly. I focus on detail and realism, although perhaps too much.

I often post threads in the Tracks section, but I don't as often update them. Usually, the eagerness and bright, new feeling I get when creating a project only lasts so long before I lose interest or inspiration in my projects, and that has the disadvantage of slowing my updating speed to a snail's crawl. I often feel that I need to improve, but have no appearent way to go about it. Also, for the most part, my project links go in my signature, left to right in order of creation. :noob:

I think we should post these pics on our profiles, then we will get more visitors and comments!

Possibly, but I don't think it will -- unless, of course, you advertise the fact frequently, which is something I don't partake in.

Nice shot, simantic8. Just so you know, you can "dim" the chandeliers by choosing a different color (like gray or one of the browns) before placing them ;) after they are placed, you can't change the light's color, but you still can change the color of the crystals :D

Haha, that's the way the cookie crumbles my friend.

Awesome shots Deadstar & simtanic. I especially like the way the light gently illuminates the room. Although I'm a little skeptical of the architectural elements going on here...I'm assuming this is from Dante's Hotel. Nevertheless, it's still a great shot.

Magnificent pictures, people! I absolutely adore your new project, n747; it's incredibly detailed and quite beautiful, while still keeping from being overbearing (which is something not everyone can, or knows how, to do). The shoot-the-chutes is simply extravagant, to the point where I'm running out of adjectives!

Your picture is quite nice as well, Deadstar -- it's a very busy picture, in as much as there's no shortage of things to look at, but it's still very high in quality.

'Love the lighting, Simtanic! It gives a remarkably fitting glow to the room, which in and of itself is also impressive.

Finally, wonderful job, CoasterJoe! Your picture is very realistic indeed -- and the theming is excellent. Do I spy an inverted coaster in the background?

n747 - I now understand why some members were so happy to hear you've got a new project, as your work is so inventive and unique with the sets that you combine and how it looks, cant wait for the thread.

deadstar - That angle in the first image is very interesting and all the detail and bright alternating colours you use are a nice different style of building.

MGP - Yes you should, the detail in that image looks amazing and those pipes around the organ are one of the small details that make it look real to me.

CoasterJoe - That crossing into the new area looks well thought out and the layouts to the your park look like they flow well, that sign is nice as well with the different support beams you've used for it.

simtanic8 - Wow, that image looks very well Photo shopped and almost real with the bright chandeliers that set a great focal point. I like how the different textures on the wall and floor surprisingly go together as the patterns are quite loud.:)

Great pictures everyone, this thread is really nice to look through and see everyones different styles an get some inspiration.

Extremely nice pictures on this page, I must say!

My favorites I must say are Dan Mc's pictures. That roller coaster is simply amazing; it seems to have a very nice layout, and the themeing is grand. I must say, that's by far the best Western themeing I've seen for a coaster. I think you did best working with the rocks, which are usually always hard to work with.

Orez, that park looks very nice! Seems like a park with lots of thrills! It seems very well thought-out, and has a very nice atmosphere!

dnsmills, That picture is very nice indeed, especially for a first shot! There's not much to comment on though, all there really is is Palm Trees and a very nicely-colored sky. Although, I can definably see some potential here; can't wait to see any upcoming projects you have awaiting for us! :)

Wow Orez, that is really impressive!

Everything mixes very nicely; the flowers, fences, rocks. It all goes very well!

The two main things that stand out to me the most though, has gotta be:
1. The Billboard - it's very nice! Seems pretty big, and that's always good. It really stands out behind the woodie.
2. That yellow building in the background - awesome job with that! It's extremely realistic. Those molding bricks make it look very clean-cut, and those Magenta-colored awning contrast with the yellow very nicely! I also like how it's just not one big blocks, and just one level; it has many different levels, and nice added bonuses (like the bell tower). Awesome job with that! :)

great shot! I think the problem is that there is another body of water that is above the water level of that one and there fore RCT3 has to be retarded and make the lower level unreal, fake and boring. It gets annoying sometimes when you have the best water picture ever and the water is bad. =(

Really nice MPG.
Since I saw it earlier today on another thread... I decided to actually critique it...
Overall... it's amazing, there just one thing that caught my attention right away.
You're using the billboard cabinet piece... without a really billboard, so it draws away from the effect.
Why not simply use a completely brown image in place of it?
Or was it simply a "I have not yet gotten to that" sort of deal?

It's from the extended coaster from Wild! expansion pack. When the train is traveling up a hill, bank it, and you'll see the option "inclined loop".

Yeah, tulie's pics always seem shiny. Do you think she uses and editing program?

~LoveTulie
10-11-2008, 06:35 PM
What do you mean shiny? All I do is use the bloom option.

Other than that, I don't really edit the picture. I'll slighty sharpen then, when you can't even tell the difference. And I'll make the contrast a bit darker, but all that really does is make the black darker. And then I add a black border. So in reality, there isn't really a lot of editing. It looks like that in-game.

Awsome Pictures LoveTulie!

Thanks! Haha, I don't think my graphics card is that great. It's a nVidea Geforce 7100 128mb. You just have to work your card to it's highest potential, I suppose.

LoveTulie, that coaster is artwork. It's really beautiful.

Thanks! It is a really photogenic coaster.

The track is highlighted? :bulb:.

What graphics card do you have? And you know, that's funny you bring up about the quality of my photos. Really, I don't know. Because, and I'm really not trying to brag, but I have noticed my pictures do have better quality than many others, and some even have better graphics card than I.

Really, I think to make the most of your pictures, there are a couple main things:
1. Put your graphics up to the highest potenial. Have bloom on.

2. When taking the pictures, the main thing that affects your pictures is the resoultion you have it on. When you're working, put it on a lower resolution. When taking pictures, put it to the highest resoultion possible. It makes the game looks a lot of better, and way sharper. It's just going to lag more, that's why you only use it when taking pictures.

3. The time of day. This definably has a big effect on your pictures. You'll want to have your option for skies on "Blend". I think the best time to take pictures is in the morning, night, and evening. In the evening, it's best to do it around 6-7:30. Throughout that time, you're going to get a dark magenta color, and it really just makes everything look vibrant, and at its best.

After 7:30, the magenta is going to gradually get darker, and eventually evolve into a dark blue/magenta sky. That's when it's going to be night-time. Really, I think anytime at night is good. But when it varies between magenta and dark blue (right after 7:30 about), IMO, that's the best time.

If you take a couple shots during the Evening and Night, then you're going to want to speed up your game to around when it turns morning. (I think around 7 or 8?) During that time, everything really looks amazing. You get a bright side/dark side effect. Everything is going to be very dim, but full of detail. I like the sky most at this time. It goes into a orange/yellow tone, which is very pretty.

4. And last but not least, the angles. I always use the freelook. You're going to want to get an angle that is facing towards the sky. And usually, having the sun in the picture makes it better. Just play around with the freelook camera, and you can get some really cool angles.

Hope that helps. :) Really though, give this post credit to Nuke. Without his tutorial, I wouldn't have been able to tell you any of this.

Georgous shots, folks!

Very nice theming, Crisko! Although I'm not sure about the sudden change between green plants and brown from the foreground to the background, the coaster looks interesting and the buildings are nicely detailed.

Good heavens, Tulie! Nice job leaving me speechless -- how very abstract, while not being nearly as hard on the eyes as one comes to expect from such a theme. Simply breathtaking!

Surprisingly quaint for a Halloween themed attraction, Mad_Hatter -- and I like it! The bridge fits into the landscape well, I think.

Wow dnsmills; stunning, really! The landscaping is just excellent! I'm not sure about tree placement, however I'm rather nit-picky about such things.

Hah, you just keep improving, don't you, Luda? Awesome, simply put.

Chess! That's not something you see all that often nowadays, Amplifyed -- very nice indeed, and unique to boot.

Oh, very impressive, Sjakie -- the lighting is suburb, and the architecture is perfect!
