Added new pics, also, I will be needing 5 people to test this park in the near future. So if your a Disney Fanatic, send me a PM!

BIG update for you. I've taken all the other movies down, and posted this one. You'll have to let me know if you like it, because it took me forever. :D

The video contains views from Day, and Night as well as on-ride sections of Big Thunder, Splash Moutnain, and a WIP clip of The Haunted Mansion. So please, download, and enjoy. The Video is 25 megs, and runs about 9 mins, so get some popcorn.

The veiw you get as walk from Pecos Bill's. Great Burgers!

We're walking to the line.

Fast Pass anyone?

We've all spent hours here one time or another...

Only 20 min from here.

A vew from the air...

Big Thunder starting to take shape..

A veiw of the track layout...and yes... it is accurate...

The flood.... no bathtub...yet. ;)

The train...the train....

06-29-2005, 10:35 PM
So...there you have it. As you can see, big thunder needs A LOT of work. Apparently I'm not good at doing Mountains, so I will just have to learn.

Anyway, thanks for looking, and remember that comments, and suggestions are always welcome. If somethings wrong, let me know. Thanks again.

06-29-2005, 10:37 PM
Awesome! :D Splash Mountain looks perfect and Big Thunder is coming along very nicely :)

06-29-2005, 10:43 PM
Wow, awesome recreations!!! I`ve been on Splash Mountain in Disneyland once. I love what you did with the scenery and the queue-lines there ( 20 min from here - LOL)
The trees, the water and the rocks - all that looks really natural from the birds-eye-view...

Keep it up! (I`d like to ride it...)

06-30-2005, 01:01 AM
please finish this quickly. I really wanna ride splash mountain

06-30-2005, 01:34 AM
it looks really good! i love it! i just have one question though, isnt Splash Mountain taller? ive only seen pictures and stuff, but for some reason it looks taller than in your recreation. just curious. it look great though!

06-30-2005, 01:39 AM
This is one cool park you have here. Great workmanship.

06-30-2005, 05:56 AM
Very nice work! But Splash Mountain is better than Big Thunder Mountain, because BTM is too "square" (I don't know if it's the good word), I think.

06-30-2005, 06:50 AM
Thanks for the comments.

The drop on Splash Mt is actually only 53 feet. Surprisingly, thats the same drop height as the one I've made. I've tried to keep details as acurate as possible.

Your right. BTM is too square at the moment. It will take me a day or two to get it right, but I'll get there...I hope..

If i get some time this weekend I will try to fishish most of it, and release it. I'll post more as soon as I can.

06-30-2005, 07:24 AM
How can you spend 2-3 days on 1 RIDE! I couldnt do tht, no patients:rolleyes: . But I'm happy you did becuase than ride and the whole park all together looks awsome!

06-30-2005, 07:26 AM
Those recreations are very nice. Excellent job!

Be sure to check out my thread :D VVV

06-30-2005, 11:03 AM
wow your are certainly makeing this as close to the realthing as you can great job cant wait to see more
im have waited ther for 35 minutes once
good luck

06-30-2005, 11:14 AM
Awesome work! Splash Mountain looks particularly impressive, and you did a FANTASTIC job with the LOOOOOONG queue line section (yes, I've spent probably near 2 hours there before when the ride was first opened, although I don't recall how it exactly looked). Keep it up, and I'm looking forward to you releasing the park soon (or maybe at least a video of Splash Mountain?).

06-30-2005, 11:31 AM
Holy crap.

Your Splash shot looking head on at the "big drop" runout is amazing. Accurate. Beautifully lit. Amazing work.

I think the only thing I've noticed so far... the fast pass return line for Splash is on the left, standby on the right ;)

Excellent job!

[edit] My max wait time for Splash is 15 minutes... I used to go to the park at 11pm every night during my vacations... get to Splash before the ELP/Spectro rolls through, and you can get 3-5 laps in before a midnight park close :D

06-30-2005, 11:36 AM
That's an incredible start! Great job. The queue lines look great.
I'm guessing this is the one from DisneyWorld. Been on those at least a dozen times or more.
Wish there were bones from RCT2 you could stick above the tracks for BTM.
Good luck. Keep it up. We're dying to see more!

06-30-2005, 11:49 AM

06-30-2005, 11:54 AM

is all i can say

06-30-2005, 11:58 AM
sweetness! It's like I'm back in the line, sweating like a pig because of all the body heat + Florida weather!

Great job, Thunder Mountain looks a bit odd with the land terraformed like that, but I know you're still working on it.

06-30-2005, 12:34 PM
I have been waiting for an amazing Splash Mountain and this is it. Any chance for a video? I would love to ride this ride. I would love to see you do the Jungle Cruise or even Matterhorn OR Space Mountain! What is next on your list when this are done?

06-30-2005, 01:01 PM
WOW! Do u have the inside to Splash Mountain done yet?

06-30-2005, 01:29 PM
That is an amazing recreation. We better get a video or I am going to hunt you down and neut... Never mind just good job. Also where do you get you layouts from?

06-30-2005, 01:45 PM
I always thought that the drop on Splash Mountain was a lot bigger... Then again I haven't been to disneyland in a long time.

But all in all, GREAT WORK!

07-01-2005, 08:21 AM
Thanks to all those that have posted replies. Here's a short update:

Splash Mountian:
I'm almost done with the outside, of SM. Everything is looking pretty close to the real one, and I'm very happy with the results.

I spent a few hours yesterday creating seamless loops for the attraction music, so that you only hear the correct music, at the right time in the attraction. This turned out to be a little more difficult that I had planned because of a few "bleed" problems, but the end result was worth the trouble.

The Fast Pass / Stand-by error has been corrected. (thanks YourPalJay)

I'll start work on the show building as soon as I get time this weekend.

As far as a ride video, does anyone know of any free software that can record for over 6 min?

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad:
I still working on the mountain. :( I have finally nailed the track layout, so that the coaster runs at a nice 2:53. The real attraction is just a hair over 3 min. I also managed to get 4 trains to run at the correct times.

I may just release the map as soon as I get Splash Mountain finished, and let you guys have fun. To be honest I enjoy just sitting there going between BTM and Splash Mountain. :) I'm actually quite happy with how close I have manged to get both ride layouts. Anyway, here are a few pics. Thanks again, and correction / comments are always welcome.

Is the inside of SM correct? You haven't given up on ur Studios either righhht?

WOO thats awesome :cool::up:

07-01-2005, 12:23 PM
OMG! This Splash Mountain recreation is the best recreation I've ever seen! Phenominal job, man!

07-01-2005, 01:43 PM
CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!! I WANT TO SEE MORE! How does the mine look on Big Thunder that you leave in the beginning???

07-01-2005, 04:45 PM
So what have you got going now?

07-01-2005, 06:06 PM
Currently BTM is just going through a tunnel at the beggingin, but I've been debating on tearing the ground up, and trying to make a dark tunnel, and then the cavern. RCT3 is not very forgivining on the tunnel part.

I do have a question for those of you out there with Soaked. Is there way to shape the Land tiles that you can add in? (hope that made since) or are they only for maing elevated water falls, etc.?

No. I haven't given up on MGM, for some reason, I just felt the urge to "visit" Frontierland. I didn't want to get burned out on MGM, so I needed the break.

07-01-2005, 08:03 PM
Unforantley there is no way to shape the terrian tiles, recolor yes reshape no. But I like BTM the wayit is by the way. Keep it up. I want a video.

07-03-2005, 01:02 AM
Ok... Update for you. I think I"m about finished with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I'm happy with the way its looking, even with some of the blocks. After all, BTM has a lot of square flat rocks. :)

I fixed the end of BTM, and now have geysers that will loop, so you don't have to worry about them going off. The Loading building is about finished. Since I didn't have a goat, and added the Bison to the Mt instead.

I'm stilling playing with the idea of getting it at a workable stage and releasing it. We'll have to see what happenes. I'm stilling looking for a way on the ride movies. Anyway, here's a few updated Pics of the progress. Remember, comments corrections, are always welcome here.

07-03-2005, 01:34 AM
that is AWESOME!

07-03-2005, 02:01 AM
Your recreations are incredible! and just when I thought you couldnt top MGM!

07-03-2005, 02:03 AM
I'm probably wrong because I don't know since I don't have the game, but can't you record videos using the game itself? If so, don't worry about recording software. On the other hand, if I'm wrong, my bad.

Anyways, great looking recreations so far. Bravo. From one Disney fan to I'm presuming another:-p

07-03-2005, 10:08 AM
You right. Ther is way to do movies in RCT3, and they are very good movies. The only problem with it, is how long it takes. But currently I'm recording a ride through of Bigthunder Mountain Railroad, to see how long it takes. I've been doing it for about 5 min, and I'm just to the first lift hill . :(

Oh well, I'll just do some much needed house work until its done. So, hopefully sometime today I will have a video for you guys. Here's to hoping.

07-03-2005, 10:19 AM
i like what i see and i want to see mooorrrrrreee!

usually i do not like this "blocky" landscaping, but in your case its just fine! keep up this great work!

07-03-2005, 12:01 PM
Wow! Beautiful recreation! May I ask this? Why don't you do a Magic Kingdom recreation? You have the talent.

07-03-2005, 12:08 PM
I had thought about it, but to be honest, becaues of RCT3's rendering engine, its not possible to do it and be playable. For example: With the just the amount of detail that I have put into just this one section, frame rates at night are starting to lag. I could always go back, and take out lights, scenery, etc, to get the rates back up, but then you start to lose the releastic feel. But who knows...sometimes I just start building, and keep going for no reason.

My BTM video is almost fisnished recording, so hopefully in the next hour or so I can put a ride video up. Thanks again.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Video (http://rapidshare.de/files/2777185/MK_frontierland_btm.wmv.html)

Ok, here's a video of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Please post comments about what you think, if something wrong, etc.

Note: I know that I have a few Mountians that need reworked, and I'll get that ASAP, for now this is just a rough run through of the final track layout. Thanks again.

07-03-2005, 02:55 PM
Amazing recreation. I am specch less. I like how you included the ride guy talking and the line walk. The best recreation of BTN ever!!!!! Awsome. But now on the video promblems. Did you use fraps? If you did you better of using the in game recorder. Also some camera route shots would have been amazing. But besides that I loved it. P.s. If you don't know how to use the route editor I would be VERY happy to make a movie for you of this ride. But if not you can look at many of the tutorials on websites.

07-03-2005, 03:08 PM
After waiting 3+hours on the ride video to get done, I just wanted something quick and dirty on the begining shots. Thats the reason I used fraps. But, yeah, your right... fraps is horrible.

07-03-2005, 03:08 PM

YOU GOT IT PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

07-03-2005, 03:10 PM

You didn't use fraps on the onride vid? How did you get in game sound?

07-03-2005, 03:16 PM
Trade secrets my friend...Trade Secrets....

Actually, after the video was done I used a multitrack recorder and recorded the ride sounds, and then later synced them in Power Director Express.

07-03-2005, 03:20 PM
Dude! Great job! All I have is one word......AWESOME!!!!!!!

07-03-2005, 03:47 PM
Never would have thought of that. Good Idea and again amazing work on the ride when will we get Splash Mountian

07-03-2005, 03:56 PM
Let me see..... it took 3 hours for the 3 min ride. Splash Mountain in RCT3 is around 7 min. (real ride is 10, but its moves slower)

So I'm looking at 7+hours of Video rendering..... :weird:

It won't be today. :haha:

Besides the Splash Mountain Ride Building is empty. I'm still trying to figure out what to put in there to represent the ride. So, any idea's or suggestion on that part would be great.

Simply AMAZING that was soo cool, i really liked it. i hope all of the park is gonna be that good.

07-03-2005, 05:41 PM
Sorry to be a pain, but could you upload it somewhere else (eg yousendit,.com) as it is saying ive downloaded too much, when I havent downloaded anything yet!

07-03-2005, 06:08 PM
VERY nice work - I loved it! I haven't been to WDW in 6 years, but wasn't there only two lifts on Big Thunder? In any case, now I can't wait to see your Splash Mt. - hope you release the park as a download as well.

07-05-2005, 07:49 PM
Thanks for the comments! I have fixed several erros in BTM since the video, such as missing mountians, Windmill, building, tree's, etc. I also had the back side of the building wrong, and the tower in the front. I'll post a few pics later tonight.

About the number of lifts. Big Thunder has Three lifts. On the real ride, you actually make it up almost half way up the lift before it catchs. Maybe this will spark your memory:

1st lift: This is the one at the begining cave, where you see bats, and then a cavern with a few pools of water, and rock columns, as well as a waterfall at the top that goes over the sides above you. Till trying to figure out how to add this one.

2nd lift: The only lift that's outside. You get a good view of the track layout from here, as well as the goat on the mountain.

3rd lift: Right before the end. This one has the falling rock walls on the sides.

Thanks again to all those commenting, and please feel free to give me suggestions / corrections. Also, anybody have a map of Tom Sawyer Island? I'm working on that, but haven't been to that section in years. :(

07-10-2005, 05:34 PM
Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been busy, etc. I did manage to spend a few hours today on it. Mostly correcting things.

Here are a few pics of corrections, as well as the start of Tom Sawyer's Island.

And here is an overview of the status so far

07-10-2005, 05:40 PM
nice work mate , How much percentage do you think the park is at?

07-10-2005, 06:02 PM
That's amazing. Your good. The park really has a disney atmosphere which is very hard to do. I'm very impressed!

07-10-2005, 06:17 PM

DITTO!! This thing is amazing, it looks so real, cant wait for the download!! Imagine if you built the whole park, that would be superb!!

07-10-2005, 09:45 PM
I've been thinking about doing the Magic Kingdom, but two things are stopping me at this point.

1. The frame rate would be horrible
2. I can't the map large enough. 253 is as far as I can get it. Is their another way to make it larger than the scenerio editor? On the current map, I can get everything, but Tomorrowland, and Toon Town, (or whatever they call it now)

Thanks for the highest complement I can get. I too feel, that it has a nice Disney feel to it. (which was a task to get) Maybe one day I will be able to create orginial parks such as yourself, but unfortunely, I'm stuck in Disney. :)

Here is a quick run down of what I have still to do:
1 Big Thunder - 94% complete
2. Splash Mt - Outside is near complete. Inside Ride Building is only around 30%
3. Tom Sawyer's Island - 50% complete
4. Frontierland street - 30% complete

So here is my plan for Frontierland. Get to the point where Frontierland is complete, (or as far as I can take it) and then release it. I will tell you that it will not be released this week, as for I have far to much on my plate this week. Perhaps early next week, but IT WILL BE RELEASED SOON!

After this, I will pick my MGM back up, and finaly figure out what to do with it, and then release it as soon as its complete. Thanks again, to all those watching these threads, and remember that correction, and comments are welcome here, with no hard feelings. Thanks again.

i love it

07-11-2005, 12:51 AM
Oh yeah, the hot dogs and grilled onions at Pecos Bills are the best!
This is an incredible recreation!!! You have quite the patience!

07-11-2005, 10:18 PM
Splash Mountain, and Night time updates:

Just wanted to let those of you watching this, that Splash Mountain is almost complete. I have a lot of fine tunning to do inside the show building, but I have the bases down, and its not too bad. The WDW Railroad is now up and running as well. Anywhere here are a few pics.

Spash Mountain at night

Place with the bridge and Geese singing "How do you do"

"Time to be turn'n around, its time to be turn'n around."

"everybody has a laughing place"

07-11-2005, 10:22 PM

Oh and I know where you can get audio of the ride if you're making a video.

07-11-2005, 10:22 PM
Tom Sawyer's Island from the Boardwalk in Frontierland

Big Thunger from Tom Sawyers Island

Frontierland Sation at night

Stomp'n through the foot hills of BTM from WDW Railroad

And last, Frontierland from the air at night..... ain't she pretty. :)

07-11-2005, 10:34 PM
hehe, thanks DisneyFREAK1178. As far as the ride music, I've alreay created loops for the ride using the show music. This way everything lines up as in the real attraction.

For example, you will only here "How do you do" in the correct locations of the ride, same goes for all the music. I've made the loops to be seemless, so it acutally works very well at recreating the experence. I'm doing this with all the attraction I'm recreating from disney. I love the music. :) This is also why it takes so long for me to do these. :haha:

Right now, BTM has Rock Candy Mountain looping throught the Q-line building, and then the station, has the Anouncment (which I just fished added effects to, to mimic the way it sounds in the actually station) every 30 seconds. Its almost seems eerie sometimes that way it works. :D

I'm currently looking for more of the Q-line music from Big Thunder Mountian, but its very hard to find any recorded. :(

07-11-2005, 10:51 PM
OMG!!!! Words cannot describe the beauty of your Spalsh Mountain recreation at night. My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw it. Amazing....simply amazing....Outside, inside it all looks SUPERB.

07-11-2005, 11:27 PM
You just can't believe how excited I (we) all are. I mean, I'm giddy. I get goosebumps about how cool this is. You have done an incredible job!!!
We're all on the edge of our seat to see more.
Thanks so much for sharing with us!

07-11-2005, 11:33 PM
I love this! About how done r u? Wen do u think u will release this park?

07-12-2005, 11:57 PM
Seriously! I think I'll dwnld this one for sure!!! Great Job man.

07-13-2005, 09:02 AM
Thanks for all the comments guys. Here's a quick update of the status

I've finsished the Inside of Splash Mountain, or at least as good as I can with what I'm working with. :) (at least its not totatly void of scenery)

Big Thunder is 94% complete. I'm currenlty adding sound effects to a few of the locations on the ride for a more realistic feel. (ex: the rock slide sound. And train whisle ever now and then, gunshots at the flooded town part, etc)

Tom Sawyer's Island is at about 60% now. I still have to work on the fort and tree's.

Frontierland street is pretty much all I have to do before releaseing the park. The only thing I've finshed here is Peco's Bill's. So hopefully if everything goes well, and I get enough free time I will release the park early next week. But don't quote me yet. Thanks again.

07-13-2005, 09:22 AM
Woah, it sounds so detailed!! Dont forget to upload the music you used aswell, or it wouldnt be the same. I am gagging for this download, why must you tease us!!:D

07-13-2005, 09:33 AM
Don't worry... I'm not releasing this park without the music, because your right, it would not be the same. The good thing about the music, is that since its loops, it won't be that big of a download. (unlike the amount of music I'm using in my MGM, which is well over 100 meg of mp3's)

07-13-2005, 09:38 AM

LOL! Same here, infact I just cut down my park music, I had a music editor, and I put all songs into one, but I didnt like it. Did you record all the sound yourself?

07-13-2005, 12:40 PM
check your PM

07-13-2005, 01:16 PM
WOW!! this is a good recreation!

07-13-2005, 01:57 PM
First of all, your park is simply amazing!

Secondy, 2 questions-

1- How do you put lights without having a path?
2- When do you expect to release this?

07-13-2005, 02:29 PM
I just want to add that apart from being a fantastic recreation, this park is just a great idea in and of itself. Recreating Magic Kingdom one land at a time enables you to put more detail into the rides and buildings. Not to mention that the lag problem won't be too much of an issue with fewer rides and less scenery within a single map.

Everything you shown us looks excellent and I hope you (or others) continue the trend with the other lands in the park.

Frontierland Magic Kingdom - Hi Quality 25mb (http://rapidshare.de/files/3048670/Frontierland_hi.wmv.html)

Frontierland Magic Kingdom - Low Quality 12mb (http://rapidshare.de/files/3048940/Frontierland_low.wmv.html)

I tried to make the video as good as possible without it being huge. Its a 5 min Night time view of Frontierland to give you an idea of what I've been working on.

Any and all comments are needed and welcome. Thanks again, and be sure to let me know what you think....good or bad. :D

I am trying to download it now! God dame that stupid limit! I cant wait to see it!

07-14-2005, 08:53 AM
Isn't that the music of Reflections of Earth at Epcot?

07-14-2005, 09:00 AM
the park looks amazing!! great job!!!

any idea on when you will release it ?

07-14-2005, 09:38 AM
Why yes it is Coaster_Phantom. I love that music. I felt that it was more magestic, and complemented the video better than say.... Big Rock Candy Mountain would. :D

Thanks alvarez16. I'm still hopeing for a release sometimes soon, but don't know yet.

07-14-2005, 10:01 AM
WOAH! That was beautiful! So well filmed, must of taken ages! The amount of detail in this park is intense, I see you even added that smoking path (that was funny!). The music was perfect for it, this park looks superb!!

07-14-2005, 10:08 AM
Thats great work well done !

07-14-2005, 12:18 PM
 this looks AMAZING!! I WANT!!

07-14-2005, 12:31 PM
Once again you have outdone yourself on this. Very nice recreations, especially Big Thunder Mountain. Very spot on!

Keep up the good work. I'd love to see what you would do with fantasy land. Of course, a lot of that would need dark ride stuff to work properly. Perhaps recreate some of the rides that were great but no longer here (20,000 leagues, Mr. Toad)

Very nicely done though. Keep it up!

07-14-2005, 02:51 PM
JAX check PM

07-14-2005, 09:09 PM
I admire your logflume ride;) Its very themey and cool!

07-14-2005, 09:20 PM
AMAZING!! You had every little detail nailed just like Disney! It's almost exact! Excellent job!

07-18-2005, 10:46 AM
I"ve had a few PM"s about the video being to dark, and asked if I would do a video in the day light. So later today I will due a new one, but in the day time. Is there anything anyone wants to see upclose, or have a question about that I can put in the video for you? Thanks.

07-18-2005, 12:04 PM
I would love to see a fly around BTM to get an overall view of everything moving. Thanks so much.
MMmmm...can almost taste the grilled onions on a huge grilled dog from Pecos Bills.
You're awesome - thanks again!

07-18-2005, 01:52 PM
WOAH! I loved it. That piece of music, "Reflections of Earth", is my most favorite piece of music EVER! I get goosebumps everytime I hear it. I absolutely loved the video. I can not wait to add it to my collection!

Something I would love to see is a log from Splash Mountain drop into the briar patch. The camera angle would be facing the tunnel it goes through from the Rivers of America. I love that shot. Your park is Amazing! Can't wait to see the new video!

Your park is very beautiful and spot on to what I remember the park to be when I was there a while back. Excellent work. Looking forward to seeing more from you. There are several of you park builders who play on a totally different level then some of us and as one of the us's I bow to your artistic abilities and applaud your efforts. Wonderful Job!!!

UPDATE Frontierland Daytime Video - 7/18/2005

Frontierland Daytime 17mb (http://rapidshare.de/files/3166099/Frontierland_Day.wmv.html)

If anyone else knows of other hosting, I will post there as well.

I've tried to get all the requests into this video. This is not as long as the other one, so I don't think I need to make a smaller one, but if someones needs one let me know, and I'll post it.

Any and all comments are needed and welcome. Thanks again, and be sure to let me know what you think....good or bad. :D

07-18-2005, 08:15 PM
Yer, I am the first person downloading it! Cant wait to see it!

Wild Thing96
07-18-2005, 08:17 PM
Oh ya! well I'm the second:bulb:

07-18-2005, 08:37 PM
I just saw it and woah! Looks even better during the day! Perfect timing with all the rides, normally if I do something like that, I always miss the trains, but you got it dead on.

1 thing, the wooden fences near Big Thunger Mountain, on those patchs of raised ground, they are floating in the air! It looks stupid, just thought I'd tell you, it is at 1:57, just as you exit BTM, on the left! :p

07-18-2005, 09:44 PM
Woah!... glad you caught that. That must have been when I was laying fences at warp speed one night. Turns out that I had a few other ones too. It has been fixed. Thanks.

07-19-2005, 12:53 AM
Just f'in brilliant! Thanks for the fly overs of BTM. It looks awesome. Also, I didn't notice the french fry stand next to Pecos Bills. Is it there? Tom Sawyer Island turned out wonderful. I've been going there since, well, forever, and I've only been once. Have you? I always wanted to ride things instead.
Well, thanks again - brings back memories. Of course that was only 3 months ago...and back in November...and last May. You get the idea.

07-19-2005, 12:55 AM
Amazing! Spectacular recreation! (and video editing skills:p )

07-19-2005, 02:11 AM
Absolutely beautiful recreation of Frontierland! Are you going to recreate all the lands? I had thought about doing this myself, but now there's no reason to. Yours is so good, I don't think anyone could do better.

Keep up the great work. I'll be watching your progress.

07-19-2005, 09:07 AM

Your are correct. I haven't put the stall in yet. It was on my list of things to do. I'm still trying to figure out how far to go with the main street, and the one down to Adventureland.

Does anyone actually know where the start and end points for Frontierland, and Liberty Square are? If not no biggie, I guess I"ll just have to do both, and throw the Haunted Mansion in for good messure. :)

07-19-2005, 09:53 AM

It ends right before Diamond Horeshoe Revue.
Adventure land ends just on the other side of the covered walk next to Pirates and the Mexican restaurant.

07-19-2005, 10:11 AM
You know... I feel stupid now. I've been using Home Video's and Satalite Photo's to help build, and never once thought to break out my Magic Kingdom maps. ....big DUH moment... Thanks.

07-19-2005, 10:46 AM
Sorry. Just remember, their maps aren't the greatest either.

07-19-2005, 11:07 AM
hehe... true. The Maps are a little "off" ... At least the maps tell me where the lands start and stop. I'm just glad you said something, because I was going crazy trying to figure it out. I can tell already that this is going to be long day. :haha:

07-19-2005, 11:54 AM
I loved the video! I got my shot of the log going into the Briar Patch. Thank you! I did get a little dizzy on the fast turns of the camera but I absolutely LOVE IT!!!! AWESOME JOB!

07-21-2005, 11:54 PM
Good work so far. Keep em coming. :)

07-22-2005, 01:17 PM
great video, any update on when it will be released?

07-22-2005, 04:42 PM
I LOVE IT! Wen will u release this park? Anytime soon?

07-23-2005, 10:19 PM
This is looking awesome!!!!!!! maybe you should push on and make the whole park. It would take some time but if u got some help it would be awesome! this is the most accurate recreation (along with brotherbones) but he seems 2 have given up so now u r the best deisneypark maker here! keep going Finish it!

07-23-2005, 10:27 PM
Hey, I have "zipidy do da" if ya need it.:D

07-27-2005, 12:09 AM

07-30-2005, 12:41 PM
any update for us?

07-30-2005, 01:38 PM
When is this Thread going to get updated... I've been waiting also.... Wait a min... this is my thread. Oopsie! I'll get right on this.

I will have an update for you guys Tomorrow.

07-31-2005, 11:31 AM
AWESOME!!! I can't wait. It is today soooo COME ON! LOL!:D

07-31-2005, 04:18 PM
when are u gonna release it?

07-31-2005, 08:23 PM
Quick update.

I was hoping to have some more for you guys today, but I do not at the moment. :( I have failed you.

But the good news, is that its almost done. I'm past the Diamond Horshoe Review, and I think that I"m going to go ahead and do Liberty Square, since they kinda are the together. But if the frame rates start to drop, I will stop and just end it at Frontierland, and thats it.

The past couple of weeks, have been to busy for me, but this should change this week, and I will have an update, and maybe a release date for you soon. Thanks again, and sorry for the lack of updates.

07-31-2005, 09:27 PM
its cool, as long as its released soon!

08-05-2005, 02:27 PM
any update yet?

08-06-2005, 10:45 PM
I will try my best to actually put an update here tomorrow. Sorry for the delays.

08-07-2005, 02:28 AM
cant you just release it?

08-07-2005, 12:18 PM
That is the best looking recreation I have every seen. I am inline to download it too. Can I cut in line in front of you, please? lol Great!!!!

08-07-2005, 05:51 PM
Hehe... Thanks guys for for the replies. Don't worry, a release is in the near future. I only lack about 2 buildings or so in Frontierland, and then 5 buildings in Liberty Square.

But since I've went so long without a real update, I thought I would post some pics, or the work that I did manage to get done for the first time today. If you see something wrong let me know. Also, note that because RCT3 doesn't do diagonals, I had to compromise on some parts of the street, and corners.

View down the street.

Shooting Arcade, Horseshoe review, restrooms. (never can have enough)

My start on Liberty Square

Is this attraction still open?

Just a shot of the start of another attraction. :D

And an overview

08-07-2005, 06:00 PM
I cant wait to see that new attraction.:) Are you actually going to include it in Frontierland or are you going to start Liberty Square next? Oh and the other pics were really cool too.

08-07-2005, 06:00 PM

08-07-2005, 06:46 PM
looking amazing!!!

08-08-2005, 10:20 PM
Quick update:

I've almost completed Liberty Square. I have a bout 3 or 4 shops to find, as well as some land scaping. I fixed alot of wrong parts today, as well as correct paintjobs. You'll notice a couple of bare spots that I haven't got to yet, so you can ignore them. Here are a few pics of whats completed.

View of Liberty Square

Enterance to Fantasyland from Liberty Square

Hall of Presedents

Splash Mountain from Liberty Square

View from the top of Splash Mountain

The area at night

And last a look at the whole thing so far

I'm working as fast as I can, so hopefully I will have a release soon. Remember, any and all comments are welcome, good and bad. If somethings totally wrong, let me know so I can fix it. Thanks again.

08-08-2005, 10:25 PM
Looks 100% Awesome! :( :downcast: :bored: :) :D

08-08-2005, 10:30 PM
You never cease to amaze dude! Beautiful, just beautiful.
I'd have to go back and check, but I don't remember Liberty Square being 90 degrees to Frontierland. Oh well.
Keep it coming.
Thanks, oh thanks for sharing this stuff with us.
I'm not going this year and this is about as close as it gets.
See ya!

08-08-2005, 10:42 PM
Thanks guys

Your right it doesn't.
It a gradual curve that starts before Diamond Horseshoe Review, but since we all now how wonderful RCT3 handles curves I had to choose a section to make the turn to go around the other side of the lake, and that was the most logical place. I'm not too happy with how I had to cram the things in that section, but after trying several different ways, I choose the lesser of the evils. :(

08-08-2005, 10:55 PM

my bamboo park is just

CRAP compared to this

08-08-2005, 11:27 PM
The building that you put in in between the Liberty Square River Boat and the Haunted Mansion is no longer an attraction, and I definitely don't remember it being that big. It might look better (just my opinion) parallel to the Haunted Mansion next to the que. At least that is how I remember it, that and it was much smaller. I worked in the Magic Kingdom, and my area was Liberty Square and Fantasy Land. Anyway, just my two cents. Otherwise, you are definitely doing an awesome job with your recreations! I very much enjoy looking at your updates when they come out... Good job!

08-08-2005, 11:48 PM

When can we download it?

08-08-2005, 11:49 PM
Looks awesome!

By the way are you going to do the Haunted Mansion?

08-09-2005, 10:49 AM

The length is about right, but the roof is FAR to large. Its suppose to be a very shallow roof, but RCT3 only has the Coral set with the top peeks in the middle, so thats what I had to deal with. I also have a huge spacing problem between the Steam Wheel dock, and this one due to the lack of doing angles, and curves, but somethings better than nothing I guess. :)

About the Haunted Mansion:

The verdict is still out on this one. I would like to do it, but while boared one day I tried creating a quick version of the outside, and boy did it suck. So I don't know if I will be able to. I guess It will depend on how long it takes to finish liberty square, which is actually kicking my @$$. I never pay much attention to that section, so I going off of video's, internet pics, and memory. So some things may be WAY off in liberty square until I can get back there. :(

I will try to work on a video soon that shows off most of what I done. Thanks again.

08-09-2005, 11:40 AM
i just watched the flyby and again

i was blown away

its awesomeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dont ever scrap this! IF U SCRAP IT ill  lol

great job and keep up the good work :)

Yes, the canoes, raft to the island, steamship, and pirate ship are all there and all rideable as of last Saturday.
Good work, keep it going.

08-09-2005, 02:34 PM
What are you talking about?
There aren't canoes any more at DisneyWorld's Magic Kingdom. There's no pirate ship either. Unless you count the boat in Toon Town.

08-09-2005, 03:14 PM
Actually, On days that are very crowed Magic Kingdom will open up the Keelboats, and the canoe's for extra ride capacity. In the summer of 2002 they were open durring 4th of July, but thats the last time I remember seeing them.

And I think the pirate boats he is referring to are the Keelboats.

08-09-2005, 03:51 PM
Well, I know that the Mike Fink Keelboats are no longer there. I was there in April. They also stopped using Fastpass for the Haunted Mansion - they discovered it actually went faster without it. Other than that, the only boats are the ones to TS Island and the Riverboat.

08-09-2005, 04:52 PM
Thank god! I am so happy that they stopped using the Fastpass for Haunted Mansion. It was painful the way it worked....or didn't work. :haha:

08-09-2005, 07:17 PM
what kind of comp do u have there has got to be a huge lag:confused:

08-09-2005, 08:39 PM

My PC Specs
AthlonXP 2800+
1024mb PC2700 RAM
Geforce 6800GT

On RCT3:
All details are maxed at 1024x768x32

This park WILL run on a
Athlon 1200
384 PC133 RAM
Geforce4 Ti4200
with RCT3 set at LOD as 3/4, textures at full, reflections off, and the screen at 800x600x16 with similar fps.

As for lag. The game gets around 25fps durring daytime, but nightime falls to around 15fps. This is not bad considering other parks in RCT3.

For those that are just interested in only Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder, I will delete everything around the River of America, and just leave the two attractions, so that it will be smooth running for those rides. But I feel most people will enjoy the felling of looking around Frontierland, and seeing familiar land marks, and atmosphere.... I know I do.

08-10-2005, 04:01 PM
After finding some good pics of Liberty square I decided to fix a few things today. Such as my very bad version of the Harbor House. It is now fixed, and much, MUCH more accurate.

I also managed somehow to put the exit to Hall of Presedents on the wrong side, so thats been fixed as well.

And one one person emailed me about the little cove at the enterance to Fantasyland by Harbor House, and sure enough, she was right. So I now have it.

All of this suddenly reminds me again, of how much I don't pay attention to Liverty Square. its always....Run to Haunted Mansion. :haha: I guess I've learned a lesson. Here three pics of the corrections.

08-10-2005, 04:10 PM

Wow...........wow.....did I mention wow?
Okay, wow.
You've really been getting good at using all of the scenery wall items to your advantage. Liberty Square is looking good!
I love the detail on Liberty Tree Tavern. They've got decent food too by the way. Good flank steak.
And you're totally right about not really noticing Liberty Square. I don't really remember it; I just admire the detail work.
I've got some great pictures of my daughter and me and son on the small ledge of that alcove where the bush is. A perfect bench for a two year old!
Thanks again!

08-10-2005, 04:39 PM
Very very Nice creation of Liberty Square! So have you decided yet about Haunted Mansion?

08-10-2005, 06:11 PM

I'm trying to upload it to Megauploads.org, but for some reason there upload is down. Is there another site you would like it?

Haunted Mansion:

I will probably do Haunted Mansion since I'm in Liberty Square and that's what most poeple visit LS for. :haha:

But there's still several stores that I'm missing in Liberty Square, and its taking me forever to find them. So if you wondering what's taking so long, that would be it. I may just start on the Haunted Mansion as a break from Store building.

08-10-2005, 06:18 PM
If you can. You can register at www.modstothemax.net forum.
They'll host files under 5mb.
Plus, they're really great guys there. (i.e., Skipper, Marnetmar, Pumper, etc.)

08-10-2005, 09:26 PM
Yo JASaxman im loving your park even though i havent been there i still love it:D

08-10-2005, 10:08 PM
Thanks for all the comments, and info. I will frind another host for the movies ASAP.

With that said, this brings me to an interesting question. I've been working on the Haunted Mansion for about 4 hours now. I'm not sure if its ok looking, good, or plain bad. So I will leave it to you guys. Let me know what you think. Should it go....or stay.

08-10-2005, 10:10 PM
So far it looks very cool, but I remember it being a little darker.:bulb:

08-10-2005, 10:12 PM
The design of the building looks good but as stated above it is a little more run down looking.

08-10-2005, 11:24 PM
Looks good. I agree with Tmul. Try using another stone set, from maybe the scary castle or adventure castle.
It needs a little more detail; like more cornices or window treatment.
I'm going to post a sneak peak at what I'm doing for a new park. Maybe that will spark an idea.
Also, the scale seems juuuust a bit small. I could be wrong though. It also looks a bit too much to the right of the entry doors.
Excellent work though!!! Here, here!
OH, the room actually goes down at Disneyland, and the roof goes up at DisneyWorld.
See ya!

08-11-2005, 07:45 AM
Do plan on recreating the Haunted Mansion ride or just the exterior building?

08-11-2005, 12:59 PM
WOW! This is an AMAZING recreation of the Magic Kingdom. I absolutely love Disney World and visit often. I actually just came back last week from a three week visit to Disney World. I think the park looks great so far, I absolutely love all the small details you have put into the park. I know a lot about the Magic Kingdom (Disney nut) and will be willing to help you out with anything you need for the park. I am not sure how to post pictures but here is a link of a picture of the Haunted Mansion. It looks great but the roof should be a bit more dark. Hope the picture helps. And if you need anything else feel free to ask. I can't wait to see the finished product. http://www.ibiblio.org/dls/pics/disney_nov_2002/mk_haunted_mansion.jpg

08-12-2005, 07:46 PM
Another quicky update for you. I've been fixing spacing etc, and working on the Haunted Mansion some. Anyway, here are few pics, as well as a small video of the area at night.

Frontierland & Liberty Square Vid - 8mb (http://rapidshare.de/files/3924099/Front_lib_low.wmv.html)

Sorry if the video is a blurry, but the next space size up in the conversion was 24 meg. If some of you want it, I will post it as well.

Here are few pics to give you an idea of size, and detail in this recreation.

Thanks again to all those replying and looking at this thread. And again, comments and suggestions are welcome.

08-12-2005, 07:56 PM
Ok this is amazing. Do you plan to release the park for download once it's finished? If you need any music for the park I have tons of official Disneyland and Magic Kingdom area and attraction music.

Soda Jerk 205
08-12-2005, 07:57 PM
THAT IS AMAZING, it looks so real.

True story: I was on the phone with my friend and i was looking at the comments and i saw the new pics and said holy crap, out loud and my friend thinks im weird.

08-12-2005, 08:11 PM
Superb!! I havent been to the park in ages, so I cant really tell how spot on it is, but it looks great, and the Haunted Mansion looks fine to me, I didnt reliease how big this area is, it is huge!

08-12-2005, 08:14 PM
omg this is fantastic!!!!:D whats it like for lag tho?:sulk: what FPS you got atm?

08-12-2005, 09:39 PM
WHOA!!!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for it to be finished. Uh oh, do I detect a flaw?! Yes. Ok, in the queue for the Haunted Mansion or on the Liberty Belle River boat, there is a shack on fire. Did you make that?

08-12-2005, 09:53 PM
Actually yes! The building on fire is on the backside of Tom Sawyers Island when riding the River Boat...(at least I think its there...that's where i built it.) It may be in the wrong place, if so please let me know where it actually is. :)

Also I I'm still a little ways from finshed, so there's plenty of mistakes to be corrected. :haha:

08-12-2005, 10:32 PM
You've done such an excellent job. The "remodel" of HM looks WONDERFUL! Such an improvement. You're really into the swing of things.
By the way, where'd you get the fences with the drooping line?

08-12-2005, 11:32 PM
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/5518/scream2wy.gif your park is SOOOO awesome, i love it

08-13-2005, 10:05 AM
OMG I JUST SAW THE NEW VIDEO!!! I love the music but wrong selection. I go to the WDW website just to listen to that song!!!! I LOVE IT

08-13-2005, 12:00 PM
Awesome park!

08-13-2005, 01:28 PM
this is probably the best re-creation ive ever seen in RCT3. good work!

08-15-2005, 07:34 PM
Is anyone gonna reply???

08-15-2005, 08:49 PM
What are you needing a reply too? Sorry if I've missed it. :(

08-16-2005, 12:05 PM
Haunted Mansion LOOKS AWESOME! EXACT REPLICA!! You have done a wonderful job. Really bringing the spirit of Disney Home!!! Are youplanning on doing any other lands?

08-16-2005, 11:14 PM
how long till release?

08-17-2005, 12:18 PM

Sorry about the delay, I just had seen your question. I have just completed most of the Haunted Mansion Ride. I have the ride track split into the correct locations, and they are looping very well. I used the Haunted Hotel ride, and have a track layout very close the HM, but because of the lack of Angles even in the track on this one, there are a few sharp turns I had to add. :( I'm still added props, etc. So far its going very well.

As for a release date, I don't know just yet. I truly don't have a whole lot left to do, but time is my problem currently. I'm hoping in the very near future.

08-17-2005, 12:22 PM
Hi J,
Saw the vid (incredible) and pics and just have one small thing bothering me.
The placement of the building that used to house the fast pass should be at the entry to the HH gate. I know you're dealing with whole grid issue, but I think it really needs to be there since they're so inter-related.
What are your thoughts?

08-17-2005, 12:32 PM
it looks perfect

08-22-2005, 12:03 PM
Hey this park is amazing. I'm dying to see an update.

08-22-2005, 12:13 PM
I would love to see more of the haunted mansion!

Of all the parks created in ANY version of RCT since it's release this park blows away anything I've ever seen. You are very, very talented and I just want to thank you for sharing your park with us. Looking forward to a park download sometime soon. Thanks!

08-24-2005, 02:06 PM
Yes...I totally agree! Ecspecially Splash Mountain!!!!!!!! That's one of the best re-creations I have ever seen of that particular ride! Awesome job!http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/cwm/cwm/spiny.gif

08-27-2005, 12:11 AM
Wow! This is dead-on accurate and absolutely gorgeous!!! For a second, I thought one of the night shots of the Haunted Mansion was an actual photo of the real thing. Can't wait til you finish so I can download this and stroll through it.

08-27-2005, 12:45 AM
This park is absolutely amazing!

08-27-2005, 12:48 AM
Awesome Park!!!! But, Splash Mountain is in Critter Country At DL. And Haunted Mansion is in New Orleans Square at DL. Damn WDW is messed up lol

What web browser are you using? If it's IE, do you have any substantially high security settings?

08-27-2005, 09:46 PM
that was a sweet vid you got there

Sorry for the lack of updates. Just for those of you who are wondering about the park, it will be avalible for upload soon. I'm am going to Disney World Next week, and will do a few touch ups and then it will be released. I will release this in the following.

There will be a map of just The Splash Mt pavilion:
One of the Big Thunder PV,
and then one of the whole thing. This way those wanting to just ride can do so with no lag.

I will have an update tomorrow, along with some new photo's, and maybe a new vid. thanks again, and once again sorry for the lack of updates.

08-28-2005, 09:37 PM
Have a wonderful time at WDW!

I can't wait till I go at Christmas! I'm sure you'll get great inspiration and it will make your park even better!

08-28-2005, 11:10 PM
Have fun at Disney World, just enjoy yourself.

Thats a good idea about releasing the park in parts. I know for a fact a LOT of people will enjoy riding your recreations :) Thanks for doing that!

08-29-2005, 10:29 PM
BIG update for you. I've taken all the other movies down, and posted this one. You'll have to let me know if you like it, because it took me forever. :D

The video contains views from Day, and Night as well as on-ride sections of Big Thunder, Splash Moutnain, and a WIP clip of The Haunted Mansion. So please, download, and enjoy. The Video is 25 megs, and runs about 9 mins, so get some popcorn.

Magic Kingdom - Frontierland / Liberty Square (http://rapidshare.de/files/4518435/Magic_Kingdom.wmv.html)

Here's a few pics of the HM update.

08-29-2005, 10:49 PM
WOW! That was one absolutely astonishing recreation and an astounding video as well. Everything looks exactly as how I remembered it when I last went and it almost makes me feel like I'm there again. I am also looking forward to seeing more the Haunted Mansion which so far looks great. Keep up the great work!

PS- Is that music from epcot? It sounds so familar and I just loved it.

08-29-2005, 11:12 PM
Thanks for the comment! And yes. The music is from Epcot's Illuminations, Reflections of Earth night time show....and every channel you turn to in your Disney Resort Hotel Room. :haha:

08-29-2005, 11:21 PM
This recreation is absolutely incredible! Your video, on the other hand, is in serious need of some editing. It's way too long. It swirls around and around the park over and over again. It's just a bit too much.

And how about upping the resolution. It's very blurry and kind of hurts my eyes. Also, why is it almost all at night. You've put such great detail into this park. Now turn on the lights and let us all see it!

I hope you take this as constructive criticism. I love this park! You've done a remarkable job on it. And I can't wait to download it to see for myself. But the video just doesn't do it justice.

08-29-2005, 11:36 PM

I always take comments as constructive criticism. You do bring up very good points. Most of the shots are at night. I filmed them that way because I love Frontierland, and basically all Disney Theme parks at Night. Also to me Day shots in RCT3, are sometimes dull and bland, but its probably just a preference. Your's and mine, are probably just different in that aspect. But considering how long it takes to render video's in RCT3, I will not be doing another. :haha: The nex time you guys/gals see this park in motion will be on your own PC's.

The res, is a tricky issue. I have a 768kps version that weighs in at around 48 meg. I posted the 386kps so that more people could view it, without waiting forever, also those still using Dial up, can have a chance. But yes, I hate using Lower Res video's, but in the long run I guess its better for most people.

And as for Length.... it might be too long for some....but damn, I love that song. :D

08-29-2005, 11:41 PM
JASaxman_cm, I love that song too!! Got a few questions though:

Are you sure that the Haunted Manson is that large!

Also when I try to do a Haunted Hotel ride the cars never make it up the hills, is there something I am doing wrong?

BTW lovely park, best recreation to date, cant wait for the download.

There's a free program called Game Cam that you can download. It renders on the spot with no slowdown. I mostly use it instead of the one that came with RCT3. It's extremely easy to use, too. Just in case you get the urge to try your hand at another video. ;)

08-30-2005, 12:34 AM
I havent downloaded the video left, but I love how this parking is looking so far. The haunted mansion is awesome, and it's just what I needed to refresh my memory of what it was like

08-30-2005, 03:08 AM
Haunted Mansion is quite a large attraction and actually has part of the track extend into fantasy land if i'm not mistaken.

08-30-2005, 07:52 AM
Just downloaded and watched your video. your park is Awsome and the video was great also. I like that song alot too. i can't wait for you to finish it, so I can walk through Disney once more. But take your time, to get it just the way you want it. Also what little you showed of the Haunted Mansion, looked really good (one of my Must ride everytime I visit, Rides) Great work keep it up.

08-30-2005, 08:23 AM
Bravo! That was one of the best videos created on rct ever!
Your recreation had every little detail down to the wire cappable with rct! Beautiful!

08-30-2005, 11:58 AM

I had the same problem with the hills and the Haunted Ride. Turns out that you can only go up 1 incline at a time. So when I need to go up, I did it in steps. I was puzzled about that myself though. Why would they let you have the option, if you can't have the means.

And as for the size, here's a Satalite picture of the Haunted Mansion.

JSAX: check your PM

08-30-2005, 11:05 PM
I have been following this thread for quite a while and this is obviously the very best Disney recreation yet (maybe even the very best RCT3 park yet). I just now downloaded the video (we just got DSL after having dial-up for forever) and my wife fishermansgirl and I watched it...she had tears in her eyes...heck I did too...because you actually took us back to our wonderful trip to WDW last November...that music...we went back to Epcot each night just to watch Illuminations because we loved it so much (we even bought the cd while we were there). Anyway, JASaxman_cm, keep up the awesome work and thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories.

08-31-2005, 06:34 PM
Thanks for those very kind and generous words. I'm glad that you and your wife enjoyed the video.

I had a few emails asking question about the park. One being. "Why is it taking you so long?" Also, one person asked how accurate I was trying to be with this recreation.

I thought the best way to answer both questions at once was to post comparsion pics. I made four quick ones for those of you to compare. The actually photo's came from Disneypix, so hopefully they won't mind. Let me know what you think.

08-31-2005, 06:46 PM
Don't know if you've thought about it, but you could get some of the greenery to overhang the SM drop by sinking trees into the ground.
EDIT: Oh yeah, you are a recreation god! I bow down to you. I sacrifice my first born son. (Of course I don't or won't have one-a little girl is enough-, but hey, he's yours)

08-31-2005, 06:49 PM
I have been with this thread since it started like Fisherman has also. I was completely amazed at the work that had gone into Splash Mountain. At this point it wasn't even finished. As the park has progressed I am kept in amazement. Illuminations makes me tear up every time I see it. It is truly one of those "Disney Moments" that I will always hold and cherish. I just want to say thank you for building such a wonderful eye catching park. Your work is amazing and I want to be kept posted about any other parks you are doing. Do you plan on doing any more with Disney? I would hope so. :D Keep up the great work and your park will stay on my computer forever!!

08-31-2005, 06:52 PM
Those, of course (like everything else) are incredible pictures. The resemblence is amazing. Despite what other people are and may be saying, you should take your time, as your screenshots are showing that the time you are spending on this park is creating an unbelievably good recreation.

As I have always been saying (:P), keep up the good work and take your time.

Oh, and BTW. I just watched the video. Although some people's opinions may be different, I think it was really awesome. It was there for a good purpose, it showed us how well the park is coming.

(ALSO, unless anyone is thinking this, I am not trying to suck up or anything, I am just very easily excitable. Because I went to DisneyWorld a couple of years ago on vacation, this park is that much cooler to me!)

EDIT: In reply to the previous two posters. I'm not saying you need to do it or anything, but what Larry suggested would look real awesome, and now Im inspired to fit that into my parks somehow :D. And, I'm joining Disneyland255 with his question(s). They would be nice to know.

08-31-2005, 09:14 PM
I was curious to know if you used any custom scenery in the park.

08-31-2005, 10:07 PM
The only custom scenery in this park is the Dark Ride set. I'll double check to make sure though, but I'm pretty sure just the Dark Ride set, and you will have to have the Soaked expansion pack.

08-31-2005, 10:50 PM
You're doing a very good job so far. I'm sure the park will be stunning when it gets finished.

09-01-2005, 03:29 AM

Like others here, I have been following this park, as well as your Disney-MGM park, since the begining and have to say that you are a true artist with this creation. Alot of people think of this as just a game, but with the last pictures you posted, it goes to show how accurate you can do a recreation such as this. Again you are a true artist and as one take your time to release this and get it just right, as it will be one to be remembered for a long time. Great work keep it up.

09-01-2005, 09:56 AM
Thanks for all the kind comments. I don't think I would go as far as being called an artist, but I was a kick arse Lego maniac when I was younger. And this is basically the same thing, you have to search for that perfect piece. :haha:

09-01-2005, 01:20 PM
Ahh man, I was the bestest at Lego! (Maybe I still am? Except being in Grade 12, I don't play it that often:weird: ) Maybe if I think of this game as a type of lego, I will be able to do better stuff :)

09-01-2005, 02:37 PM
Hehe.. see... Once you put it all in perspective, it starts to get easy. :)

I use to build Disney Rides with Lego's many moons ago. Back then, you had to use your imagination. Now with RCT3, its like building with lego's, but without the mess! Hey, I like that.. maybe I could sell that slogan to Atari. :haha:

09-01-2005, 02:51 PM
Heh, thats quite the slogan. It'd sure encourage me to buy a game.

What kind of rides did you make? Were they pretty much just gentle ones?

09-01-2005, 05:08 PM
HEEY! U know me I LOVE ur MgM park! and this park is awesome as well. Just wondering how much more time till u will release this park!? I love your work.

Lol! I also built theme parks with legos when I was a kid. But it wasn`t Disney - just some random stuff!
But the reason why I`m posting right now is that I just watched your video and really felt the urge to applaud after it ended. And what better place for praise than here?
I think it`s an awesome recreation of the Magic Kingdom - so detailed and well planned! And you also showed great video editing skills. These long camera runs which finally ended with a zoom into the nightsky: brilliant! And I`D love to ride that Haunted Mansion!

I wonder what machine you`re running this park on? With all that detail and the many lights it has to be laggy...?

09-02-2005, 08:37 AM
Well, just a quick update on current things.

I've cancelled my WDW disney trip in spite of all the things going on, as well as the looming gas shortage in Florida. I didn't feel like getting stranded 800 miles from home, or have to carry an UZI in order to get gas.

... but the good news is that I have been adding tons of little details to all the rides sections etc. I may post pics later, but to be honest, there's so many small details, that I'm added, it would almost be pointless. Some you will probably never know, or look for them. But thats' what makes Disney parks special...the little things.

Anyway, once again, thanks to all of you commenting and sending me comments.

09-02-2005, 08:52 AM
I'm sorry to hear you're canceling the trip. I certainly understand. I live in Dallas and we're getting tons of the refugees here. Hotels and shelters are quickly filling up. Everyone seems to be pitching in, which is really great. Gas went up more than 40 cents in a matter of hours yesterday and it's still going up past the 3 dollar mark.
I'm glad that you find at least something "Disney" to do. I love the details in your park. They're extraordinary. It sometimes is the little things in this game that make it exciting.
Thanks for sharing this park with us.
PS - I was an incredible Lego fanatic too. Boxes of them. Builts entire city's with monorails and everything.

09-02-2005, 11:51 AM
Hehe... is great to see fellow lego manic's pushing RCT3 to the next level. :haha:

...I do have a question for the memebers here. When entering Splash Mountain from the Walt Disney Railroad.... does the tunnel begin with a building?....or a cave looking enterance? I have no pictures, or clear video of the enterance. Anyway help would be greatful.

09-02-2005, 12:10 PM
It begins with you entering the barn. Then you go up some stairs and then into the mountain. That is how Disneyland's is. I think Disneyworld's is very similar! Sorry your trip got cancelled. :(

09-02-2005, 12:22 PM
Actually, I think it depends on busy, and what pass there is.
I remember entering the barn last time, but don't really recall.

09-02-2005, 12:33 PM
Thanks for the replies... but I guess I should have been more specific.

What I'm talking about is the actual tunnel the WDW Railroad goes through. For example, when you board at Main Street and ride through Splash Mountain. When the Train enters Splash Mountain, is the enterance to the tunnel a rustic building, or is designed like a rock face. Sorry for the mix up. ;)

09-02-2005, 12:42 PM
OH, sorry.
Try these - I didn't look.
You should make an investment:

09-02-2005, 01:13 PM
It goes into the mountain, just like at Disneyland. Then it come out of the mountain.

09-02-2005, 04:09 PM
how did you make strobe lights on the splahs mountain ride?

09-02-2005, 04:15 PM
I asume your talking about the lights flashing at the top of the lift hill. Its a bug in the game. I have no idea why it does it. Its just in that one place. Whenever a log gets to the lift hill, its starts to flash like that. :weird:

09-02-2005, 08:33 PM
ok thanks

09-02-2005, 11:44 PM
I thought this might help on several revisions on BTM and splash Mountain. I hope you don't run out of room. And for later tommorowland reference:

09-03-2005, 10:38 AM
where were you 3 months ago? :)

At least now I feel better about my ability to look at areil views and do track layouts. I had Big Thunder nailed. (pats self on back) That and years of home video's helped.

But I think that the diagram on Splash Mountain is incorrect, or at least incomplete. (that or I'm way off.. :) ) Where did you get that anyway?

WDWMagic. I was working on a RCT2 recreation of SpaceMountain so several members were helping me with that and I found the Splash Mountain one on the way. The reason why Splash Mountain looks incomplete is because it doesn't show the second floor. It only shows the bottom stuff.

09-03-2005, 12:22 PM
I would like to thank you....and curse your for that pic. :) Now that I've seen it, and rewatched my home video's, with paper and pencil.... it now makes a lot more scince. So, currently I'm flattening my show building to the ground, and rebuilding the show portion.

But this will be for the better, and I truly do appricaite it. Thanks again.. (as I secretly cry on the inside) :haha:
