View Full Version : La Playa Estupenda - Update(7/21) Massacre of Two Pines / Stadium improvements

07-08-2005, 11:22 AM
momentarily nearly everbody build parks named "atlatis" or something in that kind. i must admit, i have not even looked at the atlantean scenerie. i wanted to someting bringing some alternation to the forums. whether it is an alternation, must you decide. :)

my new projekt is not a park in the actual reflects. there will be none, maybe only a few rides, but massive poolareas. those won't be big, only that large, as hotels and mansions have them. got, what i'm planning?;)

yes, you are right! the "park" will have a beach with lots of hotels (2 finished already), a motorway, on which traffic accumulates and in the background are the mansions. the landscaping will be similar to the hollywood-hills with a river (and of course waterfalls) that leads to the ocean.

now it is time to show you, what i have done so far:

the hotels recruit their guests with laser shows

shot from the beach at night:

the tennis-court:)

relax at the beach: beach-chairs and a lifeguard: :D

enjoy the screens and feel free to rate and feedback:)

07-08-2005, 11:29 AM
WOW! Looks awesome! Especially the first pic! I like how you set up the hotel and the pool! Great job! :D

07-08-2005, 12:23 PM
Now that is GOOD S*** keep it up

07-08-2005, 03:39 PM
Very nice and original.
Maybe you should do stuff kind of like the Atlantis Hotel, as opposed to Atlantis the fantasy world.

07-08-2005, 04:51 PM
thank you koasterkid, hag and convtang.
larry, maybe i will use some parts of the atlantean set, but not for a whole hotel or mansion. the park shall be as realistic as possible. atlantean set is way to "unrealistic" imho. nevertheless thank you for the suggestion:up:

07-08-2005, 05:30 PM
Since your doing hotels, and you have a Mexican/Spanish park name, I thought I'd lend a hand for another idea. I know a bunch of architecture, I thought this guy would be helpful for inspiration. Ricardo Legoretta, in particularly his Hotel Camino Real in Cancun, Mexico. Here's a couple of websites for you to peruse and get some ideas.

07-08-2005, 06:12 PM
muchas gracias larry :)

i have choosen a spanisch name, cause it sounds good, but the idea to get inspiration by real hotels is a good one. actually embarrassing that i did not have it:noob:

the cancun-hotel might be something to do ... limit the height and increase the width;) at the moment i am constructing another hotel ... the "cancun" will be next ...

07-08-2005, 06:20 PM
You're quite welcome. Hope it works. Looks like something circlevision and his use of land for walls would like too.
Of course, I reserve all rights to use myself. ;)
Good Luck!

07-08-2005, 06:26 PM
you are free to do anything u want;) i am the last one who would say "you stole my idea" ... i would find it good, if you start a similar project. i always like to get inspiration trough the other forum-members.

07-08-2005, 10:21 PM
time for an update ...

nightshot from the hotel-lane:

the new hotel - arabian style with a complex poolstructure inside:

same hotel - nightshot

imho the combination of arabian and office set is quite good:

07-08-2005, 10:36 PM
Omg I love the new Arabian hotel! It's gorgeous! The tennis court was also a very creative idea and came out looking awesome! 5 thumbs up!

07-08-2005, 10:39 PM
This place reminds me of Ocean City Maryland, With those huge condos, and hotels, with pools, and a amusement park!

Good job, keep up the good work ;) :) :D:up:

07-09-2005, 08:33 AM
Oooooh, Ocean City. Is Lombardi's still there?

CK the Fat
07-09-2005, 10:08 AM
Astonishing buildings! I liked the screenshot looking down the road; it reminded me very much of a city.

07-09-2005, 11:33 AM
thank you milkdud (always a plaesure to get positive feedback from you). also thanks to plokonn and larry.

@ck ... the city is comin later:) ... i finished another two hotels (screens are not taken yet) and now i want to began with the mansions but first: landscaping!

07-09-2005, 01:13 PM
Very cool idea soleil & excellent work on all the hotels   I especially like the "beach" idea. Keep up the good work

07-09-2005, 02:25 PM
thank you marnetmar.

update is comin soon ....

07-09-2005, 05:35 PM
here they are ... the first mansions:

finally: top view from the beach with all done hotels so far:

07-09-2005, 05:59 PM
Muy bien! El parque luces bellesa!

07-09-2005, 10:39 PM
here is another little update:

i addes a lasershow to the arabian hotel ... it did not have one yet.

the stadium (not really implemented yet, but i want to show it to you):

stadium at night:

i am not really satisfied with the lighting of the stadium. does anyone have an idea, how to improve the spotlights? the width is already set to maximum:sour:

07-09-2005, 10:43 PM
The stadium looks most excellent!!! The spotlights are a sweet addition! However, I dunno how you can fix 'em :(. I haven't played around much with lasers... Although, for normal lighting, I have a little trick. Just dig 1 peice of a coaster station about 1 or 2 tiles away from what you want lit. Dig it pretty deep and viola. Lightning without using lamps. I used this a lot in my Sweet Serenity park to get the lighting on the buildings juuuust right ;). I'm also using it a bit in Golden Horizon as well.

07-09-2005, 10:51 PM
:( but thanks anyway milkdud.

i am using that "lighting-trick" too, but with the lamps ... not with coaster-stations ... but ill give that a try. i used "digged" coasters to get more peeps to some of my further parks, but the shivering lighting was more annoying than welcome.

07-09-2005, 11:16 PM
Wow dude, I love that stadium!!! It looks amazing, You've ispired me to make my teams stadium!

07-09-2005, 11:28 PM
thanks k_peek! i am looking forward to see your stadium;)

07-10-2005, 05:10 AM
I love your stadium!!!!!!!!!!

07-10-2005, 08:09 AM
thank you tidus ... but dont hang around in my thread ... go on with you isla de la muerte:p:D

07-10-2005, 07:26 PM
here is another little update ... the stadium opened for a charity soccer game ... feat. the janitor-allstars

the parking lot is full of cars and busses ...

the fans freak out, as the players enter the arena ...

the arbitrator starts the game ...

07-10-2005, 07:30 PM
How did you create the stadium, & hotel? That park is amazing.

Yeah, it kinda looks like a prison with those spotlights...:bulb:

07-10-2005, 11:03 PM
Is this using the Soaked Expansion Pack?

Sir Jxter
07-11-2005, 08:33 AM
omg, the stadium looks awsome!
I'm also planning on my new project, a huge theatre... Can I use some of your idea's from the stadium? :D

07-20-2005, 03:22 AM
hey that looks awesome. Are u ever gonna put it up 4 download. lol it would be awesome if u made a mod or sumthin so they actually played soccer. just a thought........anyway keep it up

07-20-2005, 04:36 AM
thank you Spanzini.

sure a download will be available. but therefore i need to finish. unfortunately i have hardly time, so it might take some time.

landscaping is nearly finished and some more hotels are done. those mesas take quite a lot of time and patience.

i will post some screens soon.

07-20-2005, 07:48 AM
here it is: another little update!

landscaping has begun:

the new topgun-set brought me to implement an airbase:

view from another angle:

new hotel with golf course:

another new hotel, recruiting with a watershow:

07-20-2005, 08:42 AM
Wow. Those are some great pics! I like the "golf course".
Can't wait to see more.

07-20-2005, 01:36 PM
This has got the be one of the BEST non-theme park projects on these forums!!! You've turned RCT3 into Sim City!:D Beautiful Job!!!

07-20-2005, 01:52 PM
What he said^ This is awesome! I love the neighborhood with the houses and cars under the carports :D Looking great!!!!

07-20-2005, 02:37 PM
thank you larry, shyguy and milkdud. always a pleasure to get such positive feedback from "high skilled" park-builders like you guys are;)

i opened the park to see how peeps are interacting with such an large amount of small pools.

here we have two "pool-partys":

there are more then 100 peeps in each of this pools

ANNOUNCMENT: soleils-surf-school opened:noob:

07-20-2005, 02:43 PM
This is absolutely brilliant stuff! I love how you've taken almost every aspect of the game into a new direction! The tennis court.. ha... that's just awesome.

Re: Stadium Lighting.... I think you might get more of an effect that those spotlights are "working" if you bury some lamps underneath the field to light it up... because from that one shot, the field looks pretty dark in comparison to the bright spotlights.

This is excellent.... keep it up!

07-20-2005, 02:50 PM
Psst.. Soleil.. check your PM's ;)

07-20-2005, 02:53 PM
thanks for the reply ytivarg.

i think ill give that a try. light the stadium up by "digged" lamps and reduce the intense of the lasers ... we'll see what we get then.;) milkdud already brought this idea to my mind.

07-20-2005, 03:22 PM
Lmao @ the pool parties :haha:

That is so awesome and looks so real! :D

07-20-2005, 03:25 PM
Woohoo!!! Party at Soleil's house!!!!!
What a rockin' party!
I like that blue house too!
So cool.

07-20-2005, 08:21 PM
another "gracias" to you guys:)

i hope to invite all of you soon to the "release-party", but building those mansions afforts a lot of time and patience.

also i have so much new ideas (inspired by a lot of those beautiful parks in this forum), i can not implement here. before i begin with that, i will finish this project, or it gets rusty like my pirates-thread (which is finally finished:D )

07-21-2005, 03:58 AM
lol the airbase looks good, but the lamps on the side of the runway look a little wierd , maybe you could use a diff type, just an idea. maybe in the corner u could actually make a small theme park lol maybe just 2 use the game in the correct manner! but anyway keep goin it looks awesome!

07-21-2005, 05:27 AM

How did you get spotlights to go 'downwards' from the emitter? Mine will only go around or point straight up, something Iam missing?

07-21-2005, 05:52 AM

hmmm .... no:D ;)

@mike check the lasershow-tutorial ingame ... then create a custom-made laser, set rotating off and the angle at maximum ... if my lasers would rotate, i would get some kind of plate. wierd? hard to explain, cus my english is not that good:bulb:

07-21-2005, 06:00 AM

I tried that but I cant get the beam 'downwards' ah well will have a play a bit later. Thanks

07-21-2005, 07:28 AM
sad i can help you:(

here is another little update .... a few days ago i watched kill bill with some of my friends and that little church of two pines brought me to the idea to implement that here ...

i proudly present "the masscre of two pines" ...

the original from the movie:

07-21-2005, 09:57 AM
That is so coool!
Good work!

07-21-2005, 05:01 PM
i improved the stadium lighting ... again thanks to milkdud and gravity ... i put some pathlamps under the stadium and lowered the intense of the lasers ... now i am quite satisfied with the rusult.

i just realized, how many lights are used in this park so far ... here is a nightshot of nearly the whole park atm:

another hotel(#11), with a pool between two towers:(damn, i ruined the screenie having this tile marked:( )

last, but not least: soleil's surf school:D

07-21-2005, 05:10 PM
Awsome! I love the Kill Bill movie :D

I really like the Surf School building too! I think you might want to put a little less lighting under the statium 'cuz now the grass looks like it's glowing :p. But other than that this park coming along super nicely!

07-21-2005, 08:03 PM
i love them too ... tarantino is the best:cool:

gras ... glowing ... hmmm ... you might be right. :(

07-22-2005, 10:27 AM
Great work so far!:D :D

07-23-2005, 11:09 AM
