this is amazing, what a great idea, im downloading the video now. but from the pics it is amazing. how about a stand up coaster, like a magic carpet for Jaffar from Aladdian!

EDIT:    that was AMAZING
this has gotta be one of my favorite parks, the whole idea and with everything you have done, this will be STUNNING.

Great pics & an excellent teaser video ytivarg   The themeing looks really great so far & the rides, especially Saboor look like they're a blast to ride. I especially like that twist going straight down. Great view in Ursula with the waterfall behind it too. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you come up with in this park & hopefully my PC can keep up with it when it's all done lol

Thanks so far, everyone!

@marnetmar: hopefully my PC will keep up with it enough to finish it! ;) I have a feeling I might go scenery happy.

@Thrill Rider: Jafar will be included, although not a standup. I've got a B&M Inverted in the works for him.

I guess I should have stated from the get-go what all I plan on putting in this park. Here's a rough list of ideas on what I want to include. This is of course subject to many revisions:

Scar (The Lion King) - Wooden Twister travelling behind & around Pride Rock
Jafar (Aladdin) - B&M Inverted traveling in and around Agrabah
Ursula (The Little Mermaid) - B&M Floorless -- Track completed, near completed on scenery
Saboor (Tarzan) - Intamin Stratacoaster - Track completed - near completed on scenery

That's my "must-haves" right now.... I'm still picking and choosing the other rides/movies/areas of the park I want to cover. There's a lot of villains to choose from... but it's going to be the ones that I'm both interested in, and have the scenery options available to them that I will include.

Well I really like the look of the park. But I have to be honest and say it doesn't have a Disney feel to it. Disney doesn't do unthemed rollercoasters like those. But it is still a great park imo.

ytivarg

Well, I still am in the process of doing all the theming. If you watched the video, near the end.. (at the top of the roto drop.. last shot in the vid).. I have just begun on this park. Theming is a long way from being complete.

This is a huge step away from the fairy tale-esque Disney parks around the globe. I want it to look a little more 'dark' and sinister, and a lot less "It's A Small World". Last time I checked, Disney wasn't in the habit of building 400-foot stratacoasters and floorless coasters with 7 inversions in them, either. :haha: ;)

There's still a whole lot of work to be done... but I've got a ton of plans for this thing.

Excellent preview - spot on editing, and two great coasters already! I always like your work, as you have a knack of building coasters that are realistic (REAL people would ride it, not test dummies ready to be crushed to death). I'll definitely be downloading this park for my collection when finished.

I am still wishing someday Disney really does build a villain park. It is such a cool conspet.

You have to make a ride based on Captain Hook! I love Peter Pan!

Ahh, that was the other one I couldn't remember. When I made that list I knew I was forgetting one.

I just haven't decided on the type of coaster for Hook yet.

I'm also toying with the notion of doing Hades from Hercules... Vertical drop, perhaps?

Ooooh...ahhhhh. That was one kick-arse teaser video! I especially loved the begining credits and the title sequence and the beautiful Cobra Roll silhouetting the Waterfall. Gorgeous! This whole concept is spectacular and there is no one better for the job than you, Gravity!

A Captain Hook coaster is definately possible with RCT3 with all the pirates and ships available. You can definately pull this one off. Maybe it can be a water coaster?

ytivarg
07-09-2005, 12:28 PM
@Milkdud: Why, thank you! ;) Hook might work well as a water coaster... if I can get out of my "I can't build a decent (ie: realistic) looking water coaster" phase... grr. I think the fact that I've never been on one IRL is hindering me there... I can look at pictures all I want, but actually riding it gives you a better sense of what the body endures during it.. and where you can take it.

@live_the_thrill: Thanks for the compliments. For video editing, I use Sonic Foundry's Vegas 4.0. The music (which I completely forgot to credit in the video  ) is actually a piece from the new Legend of Zelda game being released this fall for Gamecube. I've always been a Zelda freak, and when I heard this, I was just like "Ahh! It's PERFECT!"

I think it's a pretty cool concept!

But, just like DBFan. Make 'em a teensy bit more themed

One more thing

HOLY SHIZNICK WHAT VIDEO EDITING PROGRAM DO YOU USE THAT TRAILER IS AWESOME

Yes, yes... the theming isn't complete on any of it, yet... I was just itching to do a video. I love making them... that's where I get my fun in. I'd be happy if someone just handed me parks and wanted videos made for them.

Video editing is done with Vegas 4.0

Wat about Captain Hook in Peter Pan? or the Wicked Witch in Snow White?

As stated earlier... Hook will be included.

Snow White, however... that will be something to look into a little bit more.

Lol! Yeah videos are lots of fun if you know what your doing. But you know how to work Vegas way better than I do :p. Plus your much more creative in the video-making field. ;)

Looking great! You video skills are shining bright as always. I love the intro, and the logo is just plain awesome!

I'll be following this one. I'd love to see what you do with "Hades"

I got a real kick out of Ursula. The bend going past the two falls is a gorgeous shot. I also really liked the barrel roll and first turn fresh out of the loading station. Reminds me of "Hydra - the Revenge" at Dorney Park (http://www.dorneypark.com) . ;)

The tiger roar and the mist are both nice touches for Saboor, and I love the falls with the Neptune statue! Beautiful! The themeing with the broken Atlantis walls right after the barrel roll really looks great as well!

@Phantom: Thank you! I'm actually thinking of making a tutorial of sorts of some of my video tricks... that is, if I ever get around to it ;)

Oh my god, oh my god.
This is one of the best ideas I had ever seen for a disney park. A totally new disney park with the much loved anti-heroes. And Disney has some of the vest villians in the animation/videogame world (Hades is my favourite villian: Go Hades, go!:D ), so this park is going to be awesome.
Not only the idea of the park but the teaser was awesome. I was just hearing in my mp3 the song of the legend of Zelda twillight princess (im also a great Fan of Zelda) and Fantasmic (were I love how evil gets in the dreams of Mickey) when I saw this thread and downloaded the video, and what a coincidence that were the type of park and the song you put in the video :D .
Editing was incredible in the video was incredibe, with all those logos. It was amazing including the end when the camera starts to fall in the castle and you can see through the windows. And the coasters look very realistic doing this park one of my top parks (just adding it to favorites).
Well done Gravity, I hope to see more great things of this park (waiting for the Hades coaster :D)

-Another villian you could do (although not the best one) is Cruela Devil. Another idea is to do the always funny companions of this enemies (dont know how to call them) like Fobos and Deimos for Hades, Iago for Yafar, Smith for Hook, the three hienas for Scar, the snake of the Jungle Book, etc...
What do you think?

DBFan117

I am not sure if someone already mentioned this but it is Sabor not Saboor.

Make Cruella Devil: The ride. I don't know what to put in it as scenery but use your imaginiation.
I like the vid, but it sounded to heroic to me, and this is the vilan valley, I would of used more sinister music. But it was still a great movie.

What do you think?

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone...

The last shot of the video is actually an as-of-yet-unnamed Roto-Drop inside the Villains Castle near the front of the park. I really couldn't showcase it in the video as much as I would have liked to, because.. well.. the castle isn't even constructed yet! ;) Just the tower around the roto-drop is built. You can also see the top of the roto drop tower in the shot of Ursula's Cobra Roll, on the other side of the mountain.

The villain's sidekicks may be included (Possibly flats in the area and such....) But that list helps tremendously, thank you!

And, I honestly didn't check the proper spelling of Sabor before I posted any of this... so.. yeah.. my bad! It'll be corrected in the next installment of videos.

I'm thinking I'm going to try to tackle Hades and Scar next. I'm going to try and progress through the park in two's... it helps when I get tired of working on one thing after a while to be able to switch over to something else, but not get bogged down with two many things at once (which is where I went wrong with SF:GC... was trying to do a little bit of everything all at the same time)

I considered Cruella De Vil for a hot second, but quickly dismissed her as not worthy of an entire rollercoaster.

She might show up in the form of a car ride - or a go-kart track.

Cruella De Vil's Speedway... or something to that effect. I dunno. I just don't see her having an entire coaster to herself. :D

Hmm, what about a mine cart wooden crazy mouse type coaster? Remember in the movie when Jack Daniels is promoting that video game with the dalmations in the mine cart tyring to escape Cruella DeVille?

Yeah I know what you mean. It won't feel very Disney-ish if you add Pixar into the mix. It just doesn't fit.

Well, the good news is.... I have convinced (suckered? ;) ) CP_Diva into this project with me. So, this will be another gravity films/maXair production along the lines of both Diablo and Rocky Mountain Rumble... only this time on a full-park scale.

We finished the track layout for Jafar last night, and he's currently working on the landscaping and theming for it. It's a pretty intense layout, combining some favorite elements reminiscent of Montu and Nemesis: Inferno.

Jafar came out of one of the famous "what-if" sessions we have been famous for. The track layout.. is... well, I wish it was real, because I think I would have a new favorite coaster.

I can't wait to show you some pictures... but it's just not ready to be shown yet. it needs a little bit of work (namely terraforming and at least SOME scenery first)... but soon, oh soon...

Well, due to hideous work schedules, progress on Jafar isn't going as quickly as we had hoped, but.. to tide you over, here are a couple teaser pics of the coaster:

The Villain's Castle will call this mountainside home. The huge turret you see houses the roto-drop that you get a quick glimpse of during the last shot of the teaser video.

Yes indeed, Jafar's progress has reached a much slower pace than expected. The good news is that I have a day coming off with nothing in my schedule except RCT, so there will be a much larger update coming soon. Possibly even a "Jafar Teaser Video" if we can get things going together. The whole Agrabah section will turn out quite nicely. The two shots you are seeing really don't show just how intense Jafar will be, and we want to show it to you as soon as possible. Great things come to those who are patient!

ytivarg
07-14-2005, 07:40 PM
Well, I'm having a tough time coming up with a coaster design that I like for Hades. I originally planned to do Hades as a giga or a hyper... but then the possibility of a vertical drop was brought to my attention -- and I've strayed off in that direction.

However -- designing a vertical drop that *I* like is, as I'm finding out, next to impossible. So, I might be going back to the original thought of doing Hades as either a giga or hyper.

In the mean time, however... I have been playing with Scar a lot lately while work progresses on Jafar. I've come up with a few concepts for Scar and I'm still in the process of doing my little tweaks here and there.

I'd rather take a little more time and have a good coaster to build off of than just plunk down some track and start a theming extravaganza. Sure, the theming can be gorgeous... but you gotta give the riders a good experience while they're watching it whiz past. :D

I'll be tinkering with Scar some more tonight and tomorrow morning. Possibly some screens tonight, but no promises... if screenshots do come this way tonight, they'll more than likely be just of the track design without any theming done yet.

And, a forewarning... this thread might go a bit dormant over the weekend. Saturday is my birthday, and I shall be celebrating nearly all weekend. :D

live_the_thrill
07-14-2005, 07:44 PM
Sounds cool, heres a tip of Hades:

The first drop should go straight to hell! Theme around the first drop to be like hell, with fire, fog, burnt things, etc. I think a vertical coaster would be good here.

For Scar I think I flying coaster would suit well!

ytivarg
07-14-2005, 07:49 PM
Scar, as I already mentioned in the thread, is a wooden twister... it just fits nicely around the Pridelands area.... Since when do lions fly?

Hades - Yes... with the vertical I was toying with exactly what you had mentioned with fire effects and such... that's the easy, fun stuff.... that's just making the drop look good... it's the rest of the ride I'm concerned about. I haven't found the right layout after the drop that I am pleased with.

live_the_thrill
07-14-2005, 07:54 PM
If you want, I can do a design for you, to give you a rough idea. Normally I make really good, thrilling designs.

ytivarg
07-14-2005, 08:45 PM
If you've got a design in mind, I would take a look at it. Now, I'm not saying I'd necessarily use it as a direct copy, but if there's bits and pieces in it that inspire something else, I'd be all for it.

live_the_thrill
07-14-2005, 09:21 PM
I made a very quick coaster! It isnt the best coaster I know, but normally I have a base idea and scenery planned, so it fits in more. I cant see what you start looks like, so it may not go with the theme. I allowed parts of the ride to be themed, as it flys through hell. I normally use the the over bank turns alot, like I said, I dont know how it starts so I couldnt fit it in perfectly.

It is also 2:30am here, and I am tried, another reason why it lacks in some parts.

GiveTM_a_chance

Gravity, just a quick tip, i was watching yesterday the movie Hercules (again:D ), and saw how Hades acted, remember how he moves?, that could give an idea of how twisting could be the coaster. I did the same with the coaster Yoshi's Universal Gravitation (Yoshi Topsy Turvy in America) the movements of the game gived me an idea of how the coaster had to be, with lots of air time and ups and downs. So with Hades you could do a similar thing.
I hope this has helped, waiting to see the layout of Scar!

ytivarg
07-15-2005, 09:37 AM
That's the thing.. I've only seen Hercules once... and I unfortunately don't own a copy of it. Tryin' to get my hands on one to see it again.

The only thing I really remember about Hades was the blue-flame hair. ;)

Well, that entrance lettering is dark purple at the moment... but, any color isn't going to do it much justice. Let's face it.. it's just plain ugly. It's going to change. ;) I think a huge part of it is the fact that "Agrabah" is just one letter short of centering itself over the path.

That, and I'm just not a fan of the Arial font. Yes, it's fabulous that we have letters... but I still want custom signs!

Anyways... the palace is far from complete... but that's Diva's project.... I think he's taking a moment away from it after constructing the inner shell of the palace with the Pitch Black Dark Ride walls. Looking at all of that non-reflective black can drive you insane after a while.

As we speak, we're working on Jafar's station and blending it down into the streets of Agrabah. It's turning out much better than I had planned. Both Diva and myself never used these Sultan walls much before, and we're both having fun (and getting a little aggrivated with them at times, too) using them for the first time on such a grand scale.

The coaster, I might add... is getting more and more exciting to ride as the scenery goes in. What started as a pretty intense ride experience with the track alone is getting pretty mindblowing with all of the swooping through the streets of Agrabah and near-miss 'footchoppers' as you skim over the tops of buildings. I love how it is turning out, and I cannot WAIT to do the video for all of Agrabah and showcase Jafar.

The theming with this whole section of the park is really cool. I'd totally forgotten about the Magic Carpet and the circus.

heh heh.... Those black walls can drive you nutz after a while, cant they? :bulb:

Agrabah looks amazing, and I'd love to take Jafar for a spin! That entire section before the lift hill looks great.

I'm curious... will that be a working circus, or is it just for looks? That, plus you could probably hide a drink or Kabob stall in the town of Agrabah. The sandy path is almost invisible on that texture. I think it'd look really cool if Agrabah were populated, so long as the coaster doesn't swing to low. ;)

Gaah! Yes... especially when you find a hole... then, you lose the hole... then you spend 10 minutes searching around pitch black for the hole again, then you finally find it... and use extreme caution not to move the screen while you attempt to get a wall in there.

Well, that's not the Circus tent... that's the "Bazaar" scenery piece. I thought it would fit in and give a 'marketplace' look... if only we had a few more of these in varying sizes... we could really recreate the marketplace in the movie... "FRESH FISH!!!"

There won't be any paths through the streets where Jafar spins through town prior to the lift hill. The coaster just goes way too low to allow any peep movement in there. No peeps in lowzones! ;)

So, I've been trying to figure out how to work in a moderately-sized waterpark into Villain Valley. I think I might have got it...

Right now I'm toying with the notion of making Hook a roller-soaker. I know, I know... it just doesn't 'feel' right.. but hear me out. Hook travels over a lake with the appropriate 'pirate-y' theming complete with waterfalls and such, and makes a few swoops over the midway for appropriate 'dumping' on the peeps below. A large swoop over the lake makes way for a midway-level deck where peeps can fight back via water cannons.

Now, how does the waterpark fit in? Behind and surrounding Hook's coaster -- er -- rollersoaker, is a hillside where the "Lost Boys Lagoon" waterpark will reside. I'm thinking waterslides and such among the treetops and treehouses/huts of the Lost Boys.

Well, that'd be the thought of the moment. What do you all think? I'd like some input before I take this idea any further...:D

JCat
07-18-2005, 02:11 AM
No question, that's a wonderful idea (I'm an old Hook, ah.. Peter Pan fan myself). I love the Lost Boys idea - I guess keeping the watering hole small would be good too (not an overly elaborate water park since the focus is mainly going to be on the E ticket Coasters in this park).

BTW, the latest shots showing a lot more of the inverted are phenomenal.

Heres another idea for Hook, you could make small boats, where people can walk onto it, and on this boat are the water guns! As you fly through the boats you get soaked! Hopefully you will end the ride, by diving into that crocodiles mouth, then hearing that tick, tick, tick.....

@tmul: I apologize for the Rapidshare.... if I had another hosting solution, I'd jump on it. UploadHut, as we all know -- has their spyware issues... and I simply do not like PutFile because you have to view the video in their window.

@marnetmar: Thank you!! Wait till you see your dark ride walls at work on Jafar ;)

@larry241: Thanks... I was itching to do another video again... Scar is way off from being complete... but... Vegas was calling me to come play for a while... so, now you have a promo for part of the track design. ;)

@live_the_thrill: Thanks! I just use the in-game recorder and Vegas 4.0... that's it... well, and flipping thru the 2,000 some fonts on my computer till I find "the right one"... heh.. I'm a font-junkie :haha:

@milkdud: Thanks for your continued support with this project. The end of the video is the coaster's first drop, and it does drop into a tunnel there... so that's what I was going for... guess I got it, eh? ;)

Pride Rock in it's "first draft":

http://img346.imageshack.us/img346/9374/priderockaerial6mc.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)

Far from a complete version, but just plunking down general ideas for the moment. First, I was waiting for Soaked to do this park... and now, well, now I need all of those damned giraffes and gorillas in Wild... grr... WHEN WILL IT END?!? :haha:

Milkdud
07-21-2005, 01:34 AM
Lookin' GOOD, mate ;) Looks very accurate to the movie for a first draft!

But..since this IS Villain Valley and it's supposed to be all sinister and stuff, you should make the pride rock towards the end of the movie when it's all black with fire and stuff (if I remember the movie correctly). I'm not sure if you were already headed towards this direction, but right now the coaster looks more like it should be called Simba: Journey into the Pride Lands, all happy like in the beignning of the movie, not SCAR! Rawwwwwr! Ph33r me!

ytivarg
07-21-2005, 01:37 AM
I started with that idea, actually.. but I didn't like the direction it was going in.

I kept a few 'dead' things right around Pride Rock, but faded the grass and 'life' around it so that it blends with the rest of the park better. Otherwise, we had this mass of 'dead' near the vicinity of Sabor and his jungle... just didn't look right...

So, we'll go with the part of the movie when Scar first takes over. :haha:

Milkdud
07-21-2005, 01:40 AM
Hehe, ok :). But you know, having all this jungle life, then having a big "Dead" spot isn't neccessarily bad, or unrealistic. In the movie, you have the beautiful pride lands, and then all of a sudden you enter the bad place with all the skeletons. I think it looks cool having such a dramatic change.

ytivarg
07-21-2005, 01:52 AM
Well, just to play Devil's Advocate... if we did it that way, then Agrabah should be all torn up and the palace should be atop a mountain... which it clearly is not. ;)

But, again... it's just a first draft... I might add some more 'dead' to the area... (actually, I'm trying to figure in the Elephant Graveyard... it's just in my head, haven't tried anything in-game yet) ... but, we'll see.

I've got the next two days off of work, so hopefully updates should be a little more often the next few days.

Milkdud

Well, just to play Devil's Advocate... if we did it that way, then Agrabah should be all torn up and the palace should be atop a mountain... which it clearly is not.
That's a very very good point...:p

It IS a disney park after all. You don't want to make it TOO sinister ;).

Hey Grav, what music did you use for the SCAR video, not the "prepared" song, but the erie humm at the very beggining and end of it?

ytivarg
07-21-2005, 03:01 AM
Well, building off both Milkdud's suggestion and my own idea... I present, The Elephant Graveyard: (Just a first version, mind you.. it'll probably see some changes)

http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/6812/elephantgraveyard16cc.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)

http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/1278/elephantgraveyard35mq.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)

Hey, Klinn... betcha never thought you'd see your arches used as an elephant carcass, now didjya? :haha:

@Ryboxl2: That entire video uses the "Be Prepared" track... the 'humms' at the beginning and end are from the beginning and end of that track.

Awsome, this park is looking amazing. Keep up the excellent work! The only thing that is worrying me is the dreaded lag from this game, is your park laggy?

JCat
07-21-2005, 03:08 AM
Niiiiccceee.

E-Graveyard already looking good, and boy you've just shown how those Klinn Arches can really go beyond the word versatile!

ytivarg
07-21-2005, 03:09 AM
No lag as of yet (knock on wood)... the only time I really experience lag is when I'm setting up to take screenshots or videos... but that's only because I bump up the anti-aliasing to Level 3, turn dynamic shadows on, uncompress textures... the whole nine yards.

I play the game with no anti-aliasing, shadows turned off (REALLY helps performance) and textures compressed... and so far, theres been little to no lag.

07-21-2005, 03:26 AM
Also, I forgot to ask this of all of you earlier. I'm having one hell of a time trying to figure out what flat rides to include in the Pride Rock / Elephant Graveyard area, including some imaginative names for them.

I thought about the spooky swings (y'know, with the skull centerpiece) amidst the Elephant Graveyard, but I think it's a tad too hokey and cartoony for that area. A good basic thrill ride with the right name would do the trick, but I can't put my finger on it. I thought about the Disko ride (as the track sort of mimics the elephant 'bones'... but, got lost with the name. Possibly a Chaos ride... but, again... no name.

Any suggestions welcome!

Chickenselects
07-21-2005, 03:32 AM
Hey maybe you can make a ride in the pride rock area... Like a lake or somthing and name it the watering hole.

GiveTM_a_chance
07-21-2005, 06:32 AM
Oh my god, first of all gravity, I have to say that this promotional video looks absolutly real, the edition is fantastic and the music worked perfectlly with the edition. Not only that but the coaster is absolutly wonderfull and I think you are one of the first people to get the giant helix to work (i neede to do a real coaster and can not do it properly), you have to teach us how you have done that.

And now for the suggestion, you can have in the elephant graveyard three different rides, named as the sidekicks hienas of Scar: Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, the first two have name for good rides and the other one (that is the most stupid hyena could go with the spooky swings as the two are stupid:D . I dont know the rides you could do for the other two, maybe the disko ride could be named Banzai and for Shenzi, I dont know, maybe a... I cant think f anything at the moment. LOL
I hope this helps you.

07-21-2005, 06:34 AM
You're absolutely right - I would have never thought of the arches being used for giant skeletons! Great idea, and it just shows what a creative park you're building here. I wish I had time to visit threads like this on a more regular basis so I could admire your handiwork.

Using the arches was excellent!
I know the characters, and been to DisneyW, but not having seen the movie (yet - I have a 2 year old) is there really fire in the elephant graveyard?
Well, how about a tower? You know, like Simba looking over the animals?
Anyway, good luck!

Ooooooooooooh my god, the Elephant Graveyard looks better than I ever thought it could look in RCT3. Amazing work!

As for rides....hmmm....how 'bout a slide or launched freefall in the elephant graveyard called simba's fall or soemthing....from the scene in the movie where simba and nala slip and slide down into the EG... Ok that idea sucks lol.

ytivarg
07-21-2005, 02:36 PM
Well, I've still got that Roto Drop in the Villain's castle... so I really don't wanna add any more drop rides to the park. The slide, perhaps.. gotta try it in game and see how it looks. Problem is, I've made a habit of building quite a few things on the diagonal, including landscaping... it'd be sweet if I could get the slide to go right down the center of the ribcage.. but that will require some serious overhauling. And, I'm not quite sure if I'm ready for that. (ie: lazy :haha: )

ytivarg

I'm actually not sure if they'll make it in... I don't wanna get too bogged down in one area, and have it overpower the rest of the park. As it sits right now, Pride Rock is on par with the other areas of the park in concerns of size.

The Hyenas might just have to be implied between the Graveyard Glider and the Stampede... after all, they were responsible for both.

51/2 hours!!! Geez, I thought 2 1/2 hours for MF was bad.. :-/
I only had to wait 45 mins for TTD. I rode it three times and on;y had to wait 45 mins each time...Since we stayed in the resort, we got in an hour early before the public so we rushed to TTD first and waited 45 mins the first time. The next morning, it was broken, so we got our hand stamped that said we can skipped most of the line at 8:30 p.m. But before that, when TTD was back up and running we ran back over to it and rode it before 45 mins. Then came back for a third time at 8:30 but had to wait about an hour or an hour and a half 'cuz we wanted the front seat.

Oops, sorry for going so off topic Grav :-/

You know what might look even cooler Grav? Is if you alternated the color of lights on each support. One blue, and one orange (adventure lamps, etc.). You should experiment and see how it looks.

ytivarg
07-23-2005, 02:03 AM
I thought about alternating light colors... but I'm drawn back to Hades, and his glowing blue-flame hair.

It looks much better in motion than in still... those blue lamps glow brighter and dimmer, and the effect is a rolling blue glow across the lift structure. I think it's pretty darn cool, myself. And pretty fitting for Hades. ;)

07-24-2005, 12:38 AM
Thanks, baylorbear.... as far as tips on scenery... try and try again. I keep playing with things until I find something that strikes me... then I'll try to improve on it. If you look at any one of my projects, you'll see tons of revisions. Just because it doesn't turn out the way you envisioned it the first time, doesn't mean you should just give up. A lot of patience is required... and a whole lot of building and demolishing.... that, and try to look at pieces in a new way.. ask yourself "What else can I use this for?"

I mean.. who woulda thought Klinn's archways would have ended up the bleached bones of a dead elephant? :haha:

nice idea to use the heads as scenerie.:D

i had the same idea: i attempted to build a "masters of the universe"-park, but the heads were way to small to build "snake-mountain" like i wanted to, so i terminated the project:(

Hey guys, I'm new to the atari sharing n stuff, and just recently got RCT3/soaked. I'm a veteran of the two previous games and I'm still having trouble with the slowness of the game and am still stuck in the middle of my first park. I was planning on dazzling all of you with my amazing parks, but I'm afraid nothing will ever compare to this finished product in Villain Valley. It looks simply amazing.

What I'd like to know is how you achieved that ligthing effect on the Hades lift hill?? Awesome! Everything looks amazing. Have you also thought that you're excess blank area around pride rock could be filled in with real savannah animals once WILD! is realeased? just a thought.

My favorite Disney Villain technically is Captain Barbosa, though I know that probably wouldn't 'fit' and you already have the Captain Hook rollersoaker, but technically he's a Disney Villain. lol I guess he was already sort of a part of a ride seeing as his movie was a ride before it was a movie. Oh well. Keep up the awesome work!!!!!!!

I really liked Ratigan from Great Mouse Detectives. Maybe a European themed land could add well to the park? With Robin Hood stuff and Great Mouse Detectives stuff? I'm sure more villains lived in Europe but that's all that comes to my mind now. ^^^ This isn't a criticism, just something I would love to see since I can't make it myself because you do a good job!:)

Ok, that video was bloody brilliant! The coaster design itself was great, but the theming! Even better! Now, I won't ruin it for the others, but that ssssurprise (;)) inside the castle was mind blowing. It was so unexpected, and mixed with the sound bits...WOW.

Wow... thanks guys.. actually.. this is probably my least favorite video I've done. I'm extremely unhappy with the soundtrack. But, finding appropriate music from Aladdin for this kind of a ride was difficult, to say the least. Jafar doesn't really have a song, save for a short reprise of 'Prince Ali'.

I'm going to run into similar problems with Hades... no song. That's why he hasn't seen a promo video yet. The footage for him is pretty much all shot, but.. no soundtrack to go with it.

I have to agree with the above! I especially liked the video fx you used inside the palace. The varying terrain textures at the bottom of the main drop and surrounding area was a very nice touch! Same goes for the sand dunes.

Going through the town almost felt like a magic carpet ride.

The lift hill sequence was a genious way to get us to the top of the ride!

You've both done a great job yet again! <high five> Definately worth the wait!

Now for the rest of the park...... :p

Superb my friends! Jafar should be in real parks - it's that good. The scenery work is so amazing, and it's such a relief to see a coaster with just as much thought behind it, as its surroundings. I love the effects exiting the palace - and even simple details like switching to an external view during the long lift shows you guys are thinking of the viewer!

Bravo!

This was a super, hyper, excellent coaster, and I have to say that the music was perfectly added to the coaster even the Fantasmic part when Jafar says: "And now you will see how snake like I can be!" and a snake appears in the palace, absolutly fantastic and a total surprise for the peeps. I dont know how you created those blurry effects when you went out of darkness but they really feel great (looks when like a Formula 1 car goes out of the tunnel of Monaco at high speed lol!)

I was thinking the same thing after seeing again the movies hercules and Aladdin again, I thought: "which song will put gravity to his hades and Jafar coaster if there is no music about them" I saw then the promo video of Jafar and I thought that the music that you choosed was simply fantastic as you were showing agrabah and its what the song describes. But for the Hades is difficult to get one that fits a coaster, however, and if this can help, you could use Gospel Truth II for the rpomo video of Hades, as it describes him:

Muse 1: If there's one God you don't want to get steamed up it's Hades,
Muse 4:Cause he had an evil plan
Muse 5:He ran the Underworld
But thought the dead were dull and uncouth
He was as mean as he was ruthless
And that's the gospel truth
He had a plan to shake things up
And that's the gospel truth

However is a very small song (only 59 sec) so its very difficult to put it in a video. I hope this has helped you.

Back on to the topic, that video was amazing! Awesome editing, weird blur when you went into that temple. Good timing, "See how snake-like I can be" then you did that bat-wing, it rocked! I like the start, flying through the town!! Cant wait for the download.

Maleficent might work her way into the park in one fashion or another. I'm going to try to get as many in as possible, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll all be coasters. Possibly some flats and such, or other ideas.. such as "Gaston's Pub and Grille" :) Because.. I don't know about you, but I just can't see naming a coaster "Gaston"... :haha:

Kinda the same reason I went with Sabor from Tarzan, versus "Clayton".

"HEY GUYS! I wanna go ride CLAYTON next!" Yeah.. that just doesn't work. ;)
