Hey guys. I got a little bored with Golden Horizon so I decided to start another park. Now I can work on both parks simultaneously so I don't get bored with the same park.

Here are some contruction shots of the entrance. It's definately Circle Vision inspire. Sometimes I can't help but visit his old threads and spend hours staring at his screenshots looking at all the details and picking up new ideas and tricks.

The park entrances are hidden inside the yellow buildings.

The structure magician is at it again.
Nice beginning - and I can see another winner in the horizon. :D

(good idea about alternating between parks).

Awesome! I see how it's CircleVision inspired. ;)

But it's awesome, I love the train station, you're the master when it comes to buildings. :D

Wow, I can't take my eyes off of it! It's so cool! Wonderful job, Milkdud! :D

Right now I'm putting some touch ups on the entrance and train station and I've started making a marketplace/main street-esque section. Need to come up with a name for it.

LOL... Happy Birthday, Grav!!! :D

Milkdud - We already chatted, but I wanted to make it public...

SWEET!!!! I love it! As the guys said above, you are really great when it comes to buildings and theming.

Question/favor: Any chance you'd be willing to lend a slight hand or some know how with my "pier/food court" when the Bayou ride makes a little more progress? ( 'made a LOT of headway tonight!) :D

Here's a shot of how Flamingo Boulevard contruction is going.
http://img328.imageshack.us/img328/3317/shot00011jb.jpg
Like I said, it's under contruction so nothing you see is final. There probably will be some changes here and there.

Sorry it's taken so long to get a new shot up. Main streets are much harder to make than I thought. I'm never happy with the buildings I make. I have to redo them several times before I'm somewhat happy with it. Plus I had to redo the entire thing at one point becuase I made a mistake....Ahh well, I'll probably get a shot up of the other side tomorrow.

Thanks Phantom :D

I've finally finished Flamingo Boulevard. Thank you all for your patience. It's taken quite a while for me to finish. Mostly because I found making Main STreet type areas very challenging. Picking the right colors, making sure none of your buildings look too similar compared to already exsisting buildings, making sure the difference in color schemes don't look ugly next to one another, etc. I don't think I'll be making any more mainstreets for future parks :p. Thier a pain in the buttocks.

Ok I've stumbled into a problem....I don't know what to build next! What should come after mainstreet? I wnated to build a huge castle but then I'll feel like a big Circle Vision copycat. Any suggestions?

live_the_thrill
08-03-2005, 08:31 PM
Ah! You've become stuck, just like me, not matter what you do, nothing looks right, well I suggest building clockwise, start off maybe with a western kind of area, something simple, but still looks good. Or maybe a jungle type of theme, where you could make a ruined temple, with some type of dark ride in it. I wouldnt start building the very large coasters till you've added a bit more, so you will know what they look like from different angles.

I think a nice lake or something would fit in perfectly, right infront of main street with those tranport boats, then build from there.

MDEKing
08-03-2005, 08:34 PM
Wow! The terraforming around the entrance is just excellent! Main Street looks great as well! And, about the next thing, maybe a large mansion instead of a castle, so you still have that Disney-ish center piece.:)

larry241
08-03-2005, 09:17 PM
Here's an idea:
Build a town hall at the center, with a pathway around. Behind the town hall put a carousel that leads to a boardwalk around a lake. Put coasters and other stuff at the edge of a lake, but not all the way around the lake - kind of like lakeside town.
You'd even have space for a hotel for town guests. You could build a small midway, too.
Maybe that sparks an idea.
Good luck!

haha, its that one section that defines the rest of the park.

dont make a disney knockoff...please! there are already a ton of them on this forum, and they start to bleed together after a while.

what you have started is excellent. its got a tropical/southbeach/victorian look - continue in this style.

where the end is, create a large port and theme items in a victorian port-town time - make a submerine ride that searches for the bay monster...you know, semi nautical - but not overthetop, waterfalls everywhere, SOAKED TO THE MAX...
reserved and detailed - not cheesy.

something new to bring to the mix. everyone has done the typical 5 theme, theme park. make themed areas, but keep the themes still coherent to the overall aura.

you could also rename this park to Port Windsoar....oh, not a bad sounding name!

Coaster_Phantom

Truly magnificent, Milkdud!

Well, I ran into the same problem with my main street, I didn't want to build a castle. If I were you I would build a lake at the end of the main street or I would make a transport ride with a huge station.

Hey everyone.

Sorry to say this, but custruction on this park has been cancelled. Reason being, I made the park inspired by Circle Visions Adventure Kingdom, so I feel like this park really isn't my own. The idea for it wasn;t from my own head. When I look at the park, I can't help but feel like a copycat. Soooooo....yeah.

-MoNtU
08-05-2005, 09:33 PM
It doesn't look that much like CV's parks. Well the setup does, but then again a lot of people use that style of setup.

Why Stop? Keep Going, your not being a copycat.

n747
08-05-2005, 09:42 PM
then change it!

its very much NOT circlevisions park in the fact that there are so many dissimilar items. his mainstreet was pretty compact, and straight to the point. it didnt create an area you would walk around, linger and enjoy. CV's was a straight line to the magnificent castle centerpiece. much different from your version.

sure, theres a station at the front...but who doesnt do that? it makes sense at an efficiency standpoint to put the park transport at the most congested area - the front.

the mainstreet itself could be so vastly different if you tried out some new ways of thinking - adding in small "vendor" stands all across the center of the path - and adding a second story exterior path around the "balconies" of mainstreet. a two story plaza - not circlevisionlike at all.

still, if you think that its too much like it - could i possibly give it a whirl? i would love to see in depth just what your parks are.

sorry to hear you give up - especially now that you finished the hardest parts!
