View Full Version : ::Oakridge Theme Park:: will be rebuilt.

07-21-2005, 12:58 PM
Yer, another new park, the only reason I started this, is because my WB park is a huge project, and I will get bored on it soon, so a new park was made!

Some history:

The park is now in phase 1, before the "change".

The year is 2002, and the park is at its peek of popularity, there is a high demand for new rides, yet the budget doesnt allow this, the owners have to find a way to build more rides. This is were phase 1 ends, and phase 2 is another story for another day!

Oakridge Theme Park (sorry if this name has already been used), is a family owend park, laying near the city of Cambridge, brings fun to people of all ages, with thirlling rides, to calm boat trips, it is a day out to remeber!

So far, ive made the main entrance (the other one is at the top), I havent finished the road, or path yet, but I've made the gates, bridge and boat trips. I've also started the first area, Fisherman's Wharff. Enjoy the pics!

Really great Start, Looking Forward To More .

07-21-2005, 02:58 PM
^what he said

maybe u could add some more arches to the bridge. the way it is now, imho it looks a bit strange. also you could playe some stones under the paths, so their support disappers.

07-21-2005, 04:16 PM
A small update, ive added a few more buildings to Fisherman's Wharf, added a new ride, added toilets and season tickets. Ive been messing around with water rides in the back (hence the terrain). Thanks for the tip about removing the supports, I will also think about adding more arches!

Here is a little background history to the park, this will also be in the first post:

The park is now in phase 1, before the "change".

The year is 2002, and the park is at its peek of popularity, there is a high demand for new rides, yet the budget doesnt allow this, the owners have to find a way to build more rides. This is were phase 1 ends, and phase 2 is another story for another day!

07-21-2005, 09:37 PM
Hey if you plan on buying wild you could put a season tickets shop in your building!!!

EDIT:Great job 2!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!

07-21-2005, 11:19 PM
Looks good but... Maybe you could add some more windows to those buildings.

07-21-2005, 11:42 PM
Looks great!!! But is it Fisherman's Whalf or Wharf? Just a question.

07-22-2005, 06:45 PM
Ive changed Fisherman's Wharf, instead of red and white, it is now blue and white. I removed the swinging chairs and put tea cups in its place, I've redone the boat house too and added a light house type thing to it. Tell me what you think of the change!

The new Wharf:
http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/3006/shot00006kn.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)

The new color scheme:

I also removed the path supports on the bridge, and it is Wharf.

Another shot of the boat house:

Ive been busy woring on Fisherman's Wharf, Ive added the first main ride, Tidal Wave, which lays in the bay. Ive also added a new restaurant "Catch of The Day", with indoor and outdoor seating (where people can get a great view of Tidal Wave's final drop.

Dont forget to rate it!

07-23-2005, 12:58 PM
I've noticed you used the combinations of seats. (you know, the one where the table's missing) Maybe you can use custom scenery for the tables. (just a suggestion as usual)

Good start. Looks like this will be an interesting park.

I really love the house/dock!

07-23-2005, 07:19 PM
This is starting to look REALLY good. But, as rickywsf already mentioned this, are you sure about the name Fisherman's Whalf? There's no such word as "whalf". I think most people will think you're spelling it wrong, and I think you are too. If you're not, than where did you come up with it, and what does it mean?

07-23-2005, 07:43 PM
Thanks Shyguy, and checking it again, it is Wharf! I dont know where I got Whalf from then. I got the name from canary wharf (in London) and FishermAn's from the act that it is based on a city by the sea where the dominant job is fishing. I think that is it done though, Just have to add another midway games stall, then onto the next area.

Edit: Everything has been re-named to Fisherman's Wharf now!

Also I made this park likes yours ShyGuy, not to many rides or rollercoasters, but concentrate on more scenery, but saying that doesnt mean it wont have any coasters! (keep a look out)

07-23-2005, 08:39 PM
I Would suggest making that ride a giant flume, It look 10x better:up::D

07-23-2005, 10:13 PM
wow it looks good, but maybe u could make the buildings a little less "high tech" lookin. Fishermans Wharf (or Whalf) sounds like an old ishing village so maybe u could theme the buildings a little western maybe? i dunno but keep it up!

What do you mean high tech? Also this is an English park, and well a western theme buildings is a little more American. I like the white and blue. I can understand about the Catch of the day, I plan on moving it too, as that and Tidal Waves entrance are too close together. So expect an update later on tonight.

07-24-2005, 06:17 PM
Well Spanzini and Chickenselects3, your wish is my command! Ive re-done the whole of Fisherman's Whalf, it is now all wooden houses, and wooden paths, with a new layout. The boat house has a brand new wooden look. Also Tidal Wave has become a giant flume (with a very simple layout due to how slow it goes in water), the station is very basic, but does the job as the other one was too large. Im not finished with it yet, but alot of it has been done, so enjoy!

I love Tidal Wave! It looks awesome!

07-24-2005, 06:53 PM
Sorry to double post, but ive also kept the old version of Fisherman's Whalf too in a different saved game. So I need you guys to chose which version you like best, the old white and blue or the new wooden look, just reply with your opion please!

07-24-2005, 06:54 PM
I like the White and Blue one better, but, I like the Tidal Wave in this one much better than the other one.

07-24-2005, 06:58 PM
nice park. i like how u used the water transportation whith the house. lots of theming, this must have taken u a while to build.

07-24-2005, 10:11 PM
I like the wooden look, but I don't like the color scheme. Add some color to the buildings. Don't make them all brown. But don't add too much color, either. Just brighten up the walls a bit with some rusty reds or pale blues and greens, maybe. The way the buildings look now makes them look like something out of the old, American west.

07-24-2005, 11:16 PM
Funny you should mention that ShyGuy, I was planning on dong that, adding some more colors, like your catfish cove. Ive still got to add midway games, a few flat rides, maybe some more buildings, etc. I may change the layout a bit more, so it has a more pier look to it aswell. I want to include a few boats, but they only have that only gallion one, but I'll find a way round it.

After Fisherman's Whalf it is the Midway area.

07-24-2005, 11:26 PM
Very good basic theme park! I like the ideas, of the midway soaker game! Very cool Mill Chute kind of flume ;) Very good park and keep up the good work! BTW you should make a darkride ;) ! :D :p

07-25-2005, 08:21 PM
Thanks Plokoon, and in your sig, it is ARCs not ARKs!

Sorry, the only dark ride will be a haunted house im building.

Well for an update, I've changed Fishermans Wharf alot, so everyone is happy, Ive go to add a bit more and then I'll post pictures tomorrow. Also suspect a pleasing change! :p

07-25-2005, 08:29 PM
Ok Cool.

By the way, Fisherman's Wharf is a real place in San Francisco, California.

EDIT: 2nd page;)

07-26-2005, 09:21 AM
I didnt know that, I guess I just heard it somewhere!

Not on the 2nd page for me, im on 40 posts per page.

07-26-2005, 02:53 PM
Ive finished Fishermans Whalf! So I'll post more pictures later, but in the mean time, enjoy this teaser photo of the new Tidal Wave at night:

Looking exceptional. Some really nice looking buildings there and, the coaster looks like it would be one to ride.

07-27-2005, 12:43 PM
Thanks, im off to work on it some more, and as you can tell from the logo, it will have a wooden coaster (based upon Ghostrider, which is one of my favorite coasters of all time).

I plan on expanding more to the east, or in the middle now, only time will tell!

07-27-2005, 01:18 PM
Looks Awesome! Tidal Wave reminds me so much of Perilous Pluge!

By the way it's Wharf not Whalf.

07-27-2005, 05:45 PM
Changed to Wharf, just a common mistake!

Funny you should mention Perilous Pluge, because that is the giant flume I used in my logo!

07-27-2005, 08:01 PM
This looks really good so far. I like the Tidal Wave station the best. Hopefully the next expansion will have real game booths that you could add. Keep up the great work!

07-27-2005, 08:23 PM
I like the Western area the most! Nice one.

07-28-2005, 09:25 AM
Thanks you two, but DisneyFREAK1178, it isnt a Western Area, it is a Fisherman's area, but I used Western style buildings.

Ive added a staff car park, with barriers and it looks pretty cool, ive also raised terrain to the north, so the park is at a tilt, but when I build a path up, I get struck for building ideas. I want to include a small steel coaster somewhere, but I cant really find a good enough place.

07-31-2005, 09:48 PM
    WOW!

That is beautiful! Such magnificence!

08-01-2005, 11:23 AM
Thanks you two, im posting 4-5 pictures per post, so it doesnt turn out like my Sunken City, which had one long front page! Maybe it wouldnt lag your computer if more people posted (hint, hint) :p

08-02-2005, 03:40 PM
Well I finally made a little update onto my park, mainly re-building the second entrance, not much, but it does look good. There are also pictures of the staff car park, so enjoy these pics:

Dude you are so amazing that I Think my park s stink like trash! You should add a darkride ;) ;) hint hint)

Your parks the best, I mean up there parks to day! (couldnt leave out shy guy and yourname)

I just stink man :(

08-02-2005, 04:07 PM
Wow, this park is getting so great! It's got the skill level of Shyguy's and Milkdud's parks! Excellent, the new entrance is awesome!

08-02-2005, 04:23 PM
YNH, I think that is the post comment I've ever had, I mean I am amazed at ShyGuys, MilkDud, CircleVision and your work, but since I have been here you can see how much I have improved.

Plokoon11, you were like me, if you like at my very first park on here (which has gone now:( ) it was a mess now that I look back on it. Ive been doing this since RCT 1, then I improved on RCT 2, now on RCT 3 I think I am at my highest. Just remeber "Build it and they will come";) Believe me you will improve, then you will stop thinking your parks suck.

I kind of know where I have gone wrong now, I should of built the Wharf further in, because now I got a kind of main street thing going on, which I dont want. Ive been messing around with wooden coasters, but nothing seems to fit it yet. What we really need is the old wooden supports, which I am going to PM iceatcs about now.

08-02-2005, 04:28 PM
Damn i luve ur work!
It's to realistic!
I like the mega flume! :D

Gonna follow this one!

08-03-2005, 06:27 PM
Well under the threat of a stupid arugment, I wont stop building my parks. Ive done a kind of Forbidden Valley thing, so far it has 3 thrill rides, Impact, Turbine and a double inverter (which I cant remeber the name). It looks really good (well that is me), with impact being based on Ripsaw, in a kind of crater. I'll post pictures when I get a bit more done. Keep in mind this area will be have the biggest change when it is in Phase 2 (hint, hint)

Also thanks W1ckeD, my fellow Splash Mountain :p

08-03-2005, 07:05 PM
Well I took some pictures of this un-named area, not much but it is a start. I also removed that red tree and placed it with a Oak, afterall it is "Oak" ridge.

The new Oak:

08-03-2005, 07:13 PM
Looking Good! I love this parks setting keep it up, I'll look after this one for sure:D

08-03-2005, 10:54 PM
Inspired by Alton Towers?

Looks Great!

08-04-2005, 02:44 AM
Well it looks like a very good start. Do you have any plans brewing in your head for the rest of the park? since it's unnamed and all. Oh well.....I especially like what you've done with the boathouse. I just might have to steal something like that for my next park;)

08-04-2005, 09:05 AM
Thanks you three, Alton Towers, no I dont think it looks like it at all:rolleyes: I was going to include a inverted coaster but that was pushing it. I tried a spiral coaster and a Haunted hotel ride, but none of them suited. As this area is kind of pushed into the park edges, I can only build south, which pushes the area under it! Also DMBARsenal, if you want you can, you can try to build it, or wait to my park comes out then save it;)

08-04-2005, 01:28 PM
Well the Top Spin reminded me of Rip Saw.

08-11-2005, 04:48 PM
??? What happened? Are you still building this park?

It's an awesomely sweet park, I'd hate to see it abandoned. :(

Yep! I have just been away, so I couldnt get anything done. Its still got a lot of work to do, wooden coaster, etc.

The only park I have given up on was my IOA Hollywood, I was going to re-do it all anyways as I was going to use those new scenery bits in Soaked! for the entrance buildings. BTW I will be starting a new IOA park soon, when I am finished with this and my WB Park;)

Wouw this park is awesome!
So Realistic
Any updates? :D :D

08-12-2005, 11:45 AM
Well first off, I finally updated the park! Ive re-named "Shockwave" into "Submission" and I have added a looper now called "Shockwave". It is a very simple coaster, like the one that use to be in the "Forbidden Valley", and still people say this park is like Alton Towers:rolleyes: The supports are those bits from the Hollywood Pack, well enjoy the pics: (thanks to Stuk for those hangar pieces)

awesome park thrill. I love how well you used scenery, buildings, and land features together. It looks great. I can't wait to see how good it will look when it is full of rides and more scenery.

EDIT: sorry bout the caps, i edited it http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/scorchio/saevilw.gif

08-13-2005, 11:14 AM
Thanks you three, and there is no need to be sorry;)

Ive done a bit more to the park, I have been using a new tree color scheme (all green with shurbs, thanks Milkdud), so I have put them in, then I have edited the land color, I gave it more a dirty look, as before it was all mowed which didnt look that good. Finally, ive edited "Shockwave", which is now "Looper" and has a new entrance, the past one was way to modern as this coaster was built in the 1980s. Once I get a bit more done, I will be posting pictures.

08-13-2005, 09:16 PM
i have to say man this is a very though pervolking parks ive ever seen. I love your design stratagies. Reminds me of Alton Towers. I get that from the stations only and not the rides!
Keep up the good work

long time no update again, but it is worth it! As I was struck for ideas, I went back, and deleted everything (apart from FW), now the construction begins again. A brand new entrance, car/coach park and a monorail have been built in. It is like the one at "Alton Towers" but only better! The path leading back to the car park is the track the monorail takes. When it passes over paths I have been a kind of protective support thingy to add more realism. The whole car park is at a tilt (which is a first ever), but it still has white lines (using fences instead) and cars. The entrance now is made of 2 parts, the ticket booths and the actual gates, the bridge still hasnt been made. IMO I prefer the new entrance, as it has given me alot more of ideas, so tell me what you think, and enjoy these pictures. I am going to Canada tomorrow, so dont suspect an update soon, sorry.

I love the carpark and the monorail! :)

Nice how u used the SteelWorx for the monorail.
Can't wait for more updates of this great park

08-22-2005, 10:23 AM
Beautiful park! Has a very realistic feel to it.
I like how the monorail passes the parking lot. Looks like something you could see in a real park. I also like how you design the areas around your rides. For example, Fisherman`s Wharf is a nice surrounding for that flume ride!

08-22-2005, 04:51 PM
Whoa-hoa! That is amazing! I love that monorail, looks like one of disney's! Y'know, with the double track and everything.

Simply marvelous, LTT! :D

08-22-2005, 06:55 PM
Thanks you three. The monorail is a bit different at each side, at the gates, there is only 1 station (on/off loading at the same point), while at the car park there is 2 stations (one for on loading and the other for off loading). I have to add a season pass kiosk to. Glad you liked it, it also adds more then the old entrance, but lets hope the peeps dont go down the path to the car park:confused:

08-24-2005, 06:47 PM
I reallylike the way this park has changed for the better. Not that is wasn't good before, but I love the new look even more. I love the monorail also. Keep up the great work!

08-24-2005, 07:15 PM
I like how u did the monorail, great job!

08-24-2005, 07:31 PM
Looks Amazingly Realistic!

08-25-2005, 09:21 PM
Thanks you three!

Well I am have been busy on making the Main Street, but I didnt like it, so I deleted it, so all there is now is ground plans. I have made a staff car park (with buffers), made a generator road along the monorail, with 3 stations (just like at "Alton Towers"). It still has alot of work to be done, but it is coming along nicely! Enjoy

I lOVE the Staff entrance/car park! Extremly realistic!! Well done my friend!

09-02-2005, 04:08 PM
Yes, a new update, it has been a while, but it is worth it!!

I have been very busy with this park, and if you look at the picture you can see why:

http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/355/shot0000copy7jk.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

Yes, finally a castle! This thing is massive, so big it could fit a dark ride (hint, hint).

Stay tuned for the whole thing, until next time! Enjoy the teaser.

09-02-2005, 04:11 PM
Cool castle! But if you ask me, it has too few windows.

I look forward to the dark ride.

I am not going to show the full castle yet, that is why it is a "teaser", but dont worry, it has enough windows, but you will have to wait till I show the whole thing.

Who did you about the dark ride eh?

09-02-2005, 05:07 PM
Looks very realistic!

Sadly this was already on the second page:( I would like to say there will be an update later on today, with the dark ride, etc, but it may be delayed, as you know what comes first;)

10-14-2005, 04:52 PM
Finally an update!

Well as the “Wild!” BETA has ended; I could finally try out the new custom scenery, but most importantly continue my parks.

Well a lot has changed since the last update, the castle + ride has been deleted, but will be rebuilt, and finally Main Street is finished. All the buildings on Main Street were made using the brilliant Timber Frame set, thanks Iceatcs!! So with Main Street done, and a new castle being planned, suspect a massive update soon, but for the mean time, enjoy this teaser picture of the finished Main Street:

What gave it away?

Well anyways, construction on the castle has already started, so things are running smoothly.

10-15-2005, 09:52 AM
Well the castle is finished, and boy does it blow the old one out of the water! The Max DC set is awesome, which makes up the walls and roofs. It also has a haunted house inside, “Hex”, as there wasn’t enough room for a full dark ride.

The gardens, which are located behind the castle, allow visitors to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the castle, or look out over the lake. Here is a quick teaser picture of the gardens showing the back of the castle, enjoy!

http://img398.imageshack.us/img398/6546/shot0000copy0ax.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

Also the bridge from the entrance has returned, and better than ever.

10-15-2005, 01:22 PM
Looks awesome LTT! The new castle is much better than the old one. Will it or does it have any attractions in it?

-MoNtU..., yes it does, just a flat haunted house ride. But its queue has a lot of theming, like the main hall in the brilliant "Avondale Manor", which I based mine off, but anyways onto the update:

I added a bit more to the Castles' park, then a bit more to Main Street, and finally I took this nice picture. It is taken from the entrance bridge and looks down Main Street towards the castle, enjoy it!

10-21-2005, 08:14 PM
Great park so far, LTT!

I have a question, though:Are the MaxDC roofs recolourable?

The park looks really great with the new custom scenery!

10-21-2005, 11:55 PM
I have enjoyed this park since your giant flume ride. I have seen this park go through all of its transformations and it is still a wonderful park!!! I enjoy seeing what comes out of your mind!

09-05-2006, 10:56 AM
Sorry for not saying this earlier, but you could have guessed it, I stopped working on this park. Good news though I will rebuild this park, from scratch. Keep a look out

09-07-2006, 12:15 AM
I LOVE the castle, your terraforming could use a little touch up's, trust me i had plenty of comments on my parks about teraforming. Try to add different textures and ground types. small hills, even mounds are good. the good thing about terraforming, it can never be overdone.. keep up the work. i like it.
