HI. ok i have searched and read many posts.
I go to scenario editor....i buy the land the entrance is sitting on, but when i delete the existing entrance no more peeps come to the park, even if i put a new structure up...what am i missing?

Also is there a way to set the time of day to be constant? like 12 noon ect? and have it always sunny?....I have changed the dashboard setting to sun but when i save and load the scenario the weather changes.

thanks for you help

OK. A couple of possibilities. Don't take offense at my asking them please.

1. Did you remember to open the park?
2. Is the entrance connected to your park by way of pathing.
3. Did you place a peep generator (green arrow) in front of your park entrance? This is the most likely reason. The peep generator is in the entrance category, and unless you put a generator somewhere, peeps will begin to appear out of nowhere all over your park.

If these are not the reason, provide us a bit more information.

As for your second question, there is a setting in somewhere in the scenrarion editor that lets you set when you park is open and when it is closed (Basicly earliest to latest time of day). I guess you could set it to open at 11 am and close at 1pm. Of course, that will make your days fly by, but you can reset those later as well.

Hope this helps.

Look down the list in the Entrance scenery. You'll see a green arrow. That's your peep generator.

You don't have to close any land area off from being built on if you don't want to, but to keep your entrance from being accidentaly deleted later, it is usually a good idea.

ok here is what is happening.
In scenario editor...
I setup so you can purchase the land where entrance is. at this point i can delete and add new entrance or leave existing one.

I quit editor.

start custom scenario game.

Everything is good....but if i delete existing entrance no peeps come into the park, and there is not an option for peep entrance, that is only in editor.

So.....if i want CUSTOM entrance, what do i have to do. Its driving me crazy.

thankyou

You can only add entrances and peep generators in the scenario editor. Once you have created the scenario, you cannot add an entrance or peep generator.

If you want to make a scenario as you are describing, you'll need to make any and all changes to you entrance in the scenario editor and then make the entrance area unowned. This way you won't remove the entrance by accident and get stuck as you are now.

Also, the entrance gate is where peeps 'pay' to get in. If you set your park to be free, then you should be able to have a scenario without a park entrance gate (as long as you have the peep generation arrow).

Another tip: you do not need to have the arrow on the edge of the map, it can be at any point on any path in your park. If you have a gate, the peeps will go there first wether it's free or not.

i guess whats happening is this.
In scenario editor, i select and delete the existing entrance structure...the arrow i still there, but now no peeps will enter the park, even if i build a custom structure there......i must still be doing something wrong....will have to fool with it some more.

Well, I've never tried to start a park without an entrance, but if Vodhin says you can do it, I'll trust his wisdom. He's been at this longer than I have.

However, you might want to try this.

Choose a small entrance, like the wrought iron gate entrance under the general tab. Place it far enough into your park that you will have some room. Build your custom entrance around it, attempting to cover as much of the gate as you can. You can place multiple gates in the structure, allowing groups to enter faster. You can have a wide entrance that spreads out a little inside then converges on the other side of your entrance.

I hope that made sense. :D
