View Full Version : Islands of Adventure (not a recreation)

Lately I've been working on a big project. I wanted to capture the feeling of a highly themed park with lots of atmosphere. My other parks had been lacking that as they were more like small regional parks. I wanted to finish my park, Placid Lake, I had posted screenshots here previously. However, I've been having really bad problems with it crashing ever since I've installed Soaked! So I pretty much decided to give up on it. Anyhow, I've got some great screenshots of my work in progress. To many people's delight, the park is almost finished! However, the last few projects I've left myself to complete last in the park are probably the hardest and most time consuming. Though I have been attempting to tackle those areas lately (Toon Lagoon and the Amazing Adventures of Spiderman ride). Anyway, on to the screenshots!

This is a view of the entry plaza. I really like this long entrance that comprised of several shops and eateries. Though peeps don't like it at all as they proclaim, "Where's all the rides?" Look further my little peeps! Making hidden entrances all around the park helps this problem a lot, though it's unrealistic.

Now we move on in a counter clockwise direction from the Port of Entry. This is Seuss Landing, home of the Cat in the Hat and various other attractions for the little ones and adults alike.

Moving further we enter the Lost Continent and see the Sinbad Adventure roller coaster.

The Olde Oak Tavern is a great place to rest and eat in the medieval section of the Lost Continent

Merlin's Enchanted Forest roller coaster winds around near the queue path greeting potential riders.

In the lush jungle of Jurassic Park you'll see the Jurassic Park River Adventure (I REALLY wish we could change the colors of those boats!). In the foreground there's a sea turtle, which is supposed to be an aquatic dinosaur, but sadly RCT3 doesn't have any (use your imagination). In the background you see raptors tearing apart another tour boat.

Oh no! The dinosaur knocked you off course into the raptor containment area, which at this point is not very contained as they have broken loose!

After having a clash with a T-rex Riders escape the building in a grand splash.

For a little less thrilling fun, here's the Dinosoaker. It's an interactive water coaster that the peeps love so much (but don't love so much when they're the targets!).

Here's the Popeyes and Bluto's Bilge Rat-Barges boarding area. I'd like to show more, but the area is just too incomplete. I like this boarding area because it has a nice dock-like feel to it.

Of course this park features the Islands of Adventure soundtrack. This gives the park a very immersive feel. More screenshots coming soon of Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, and some things I forgot to take screenshots of in Lost Continent!

I like how you made an homage to the park without attempting to do a perfect re-creation like others. I also like how you have the tram ride where the eternally-dead McMonkey McBean's should be. I'm still upset that that ride has been there since the park opened, yet I'll never go on it :sulk:

If you have soaked, then where's the Atlantian stuff for Poseidon's Fury? Frontier pretty much stole the trident hand and foot from outside of that ride...well, attraction...

I can't wait to see an overview shot of this park and I hope you put it up for download when you're done.

this park is flawless in everyway, and for the limitations that atari has put in the game you were very creative with your use of scenery and ideas.

Wow i really l like this park especially the jurassic park river adventure but the one thing that puzzles me is why do you have daja vu in your park
any way the park looks clean nothing overlapping other rides
keep up the good work

LOL! I knew someone would ask that. While I like how Giant Inverted Boomerangs look, I know it's a bit out of place in this park as with another ride that hasn't been shown. I'm really having a tough time coming up with a layout of the ride I'd like to have in that area though. So hopefully that will just be a filler ride for now.

Great park I like it.

When do you expect to release this park?

10-30-2005, 01:09 PM
It shouldn't be too much longer after I get Wild! I kind of halted updates on this park since I was in the beta and couldn't exactly do much in terms of updates. Oh, also I was running away from hurricanes for about a month. This park will use Wild! since it has the dinosaur theme that I need for the Jurassic Park River Adventure. Other than that, the park is pretty much finished with the exception of the Marvel Superhero Island. The rides are pretty much in place there, it just needs more shops and buildings to make it complete.

Yeah... im making an exact recreation of Hollywood's JP and awaiting wild for the dinos so u ain't alone :p .....great JP building...it's astounding! I cannot wait until further updates!

I hope you did a good job on the Incredible Hulk coaster; it's my all time favorite rollercoaster.
