I am very very new to this game. My wife and I just started playing the game and we have a couple of questions. First how do you add fog in the game I saw some haunted them parks and I dont know how to add the fog effect. Two when it comes to rates in the park itself do you charge a flat rate then make the rides free, or do you not charge or make it low and charge per ride? The reason I ask is becuase people are not shopping at my shops.

Fog scenery was added in the Soaked expansion. It's up to you how you charge for rides, I prefer charging individually for each ride. But it can also work quite well just charging an entrance fee to the park. That shouldn't affect peeps using shops though, make sure they haven't spent all their money, you can add ATMs to your park. Also, if you've increased the proces in your shops then make sure you haven't raised them too high.

1) You can find Fog, I believe, in the 'General' Scenery, but only if you have soaked! You can also find fire and mist.
2) I believe you would up the entrance fee, and then just make the rest of the rides free.

The fog generators can be found under the scenery items, under generic.

And me, I usually charge for entrance to the park a little, and charge some for the rides. In the strategy guide they have a "sweet price" for all the rides that's the best price to charge for them.

Oh, and welcome to the forums!

Moving to Strategies and Planning...........

First, several questions come to mind. Do you have the game patched?
Do you have Soaked?
Have peeps complained about prices, etc.?

Setting fees is a part of individual design, I tend to average entrance and ride prices, and in shops I give them more options at different price leveles. This often gets them to go for the higher price items rather than complain.
You can try high entry fee/free rides, or the reverse, over time patterns will appear to give you more insight to better management.

I prefer charging at the entrance, that way I only have to deal with one price, and plus most parks use that method anyways. But it doesn't really matter since I use sandbox most of the time.

Unfortunately, I believe the default prices for each ride are set to $1 and I always have to remove that fee.

Thank you everyone for the help. I have Soaked just haven't installed it wanted to get the original game down a bit. My last question if someone can help is adding staff is there a formual for adding maintance, security, and janitors per "X" amount of space?

For maintenance, I find one mech for each 5 rides/stalls is a good formula. Janitors I like to put one for each 15 sections of pathing added. Security I haven't used at all to date.

Another way to produce a fog effect (especially without Soaked installed) is to bury the volcano ride-event scenery piece underground. Hold shift as you lower beneath the surface of the terrain, and the smoke that billows out the top of the volcano will appear above ground in a few seconds.

Note that if you bury this or any other scenery underneath a coaster, it will remove that coaster's supports. ;)
