(8/21/05) Speed Havoc vid (short and sweet) (http://rapidshare.de/files/4235901/Speed_Havoc.wmv.html)

Hi, I'm SOR_Joop. You may remember me from such parks as Shoreview Mountain, The Springfield Experience, and Metal Mayhem.

Anyway, for those who don't remember me, I posted here from November-March. Eventually I got bored with playing RCT3 on my parent's computer because it just couldn't handle the game (I couldn't get water to reflect, sky graphics, etc, so no way was I planning on loading Soaked into it as well...)

But now I have my own laptop, far superior to what I was using. Another issue was the lack of time I needed to devote to this game to get anything successful out of it. But now, with this laptop, I can build my parks for 3-6 hours at a time at work, since I do pretty much nothing there besides deal with the occasional customer.

So, all of my previous parks were deleted whem my mom reformatted, which is okay because I got bored with them anyway. But I've been working on this new park, and I plan on reviving Metal Mayhem when the time is right (looking forward to using the new Spooky backdrop on that one). Oh, and TM, I see you're still working on NintendoLand, and I'm still willing to chip in wherever you need me :D

So, how about some pics?

Here are some early construction shots (I have some more advanced shots, but these are just to show where the park built from, and they're all of the entrance area):

great park. I especially like the coral area. Very real looking.

Does the steel centipede seat 50 people? :p

Pics of The Steel Centipede. Ignore the ugly housing building. I was a little rusty getting back into this.

This next section was inspired by a Western-themed coaster called The Outlaw Express. I pretty much built the coaster and the rest came naturally.

Here is Quickdraw Corral:

The Outlaw Express, a simple wooden coaster. Nothing too fancy.

Here's the barn entrance:

And just where was that smoke coming from in the Dodgems picture? An appropriately themed display, that's what. Though the peeps seem to prefer more consistant theming. They just don't know good art when they see it.

Ah well, that's all for tonight, but don't worry, I have a ton more and I'll update throughout the week.

Some more screens... These are from the part of the park mostly comprised of thrill rides.

Double Skywheel (also glad this is in the game, they didn't look right with 2 placed back to back)

A few information booths

Here's the Half-Pipe coaster, aptly named, "Half Pipe"

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v164/SOR_Joop/half-pipe.jpg
Here's one of my faves, a Spin Doctor I named "Propeller." I added a backdrop that doubles as a backdrop to the Half Pipe on the other side
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v164/SOR_Joop/propeller.jpg
Here's a shot of the bathroom complex I put together, after the peeps were complaining the lines were too busy. I may have made it a bit too fancy, but I suppose nothing's too good for my peeps...

And last, here's a nice shot of the whole area:

I tried working on it today, but no progress. I still haven't fully figured out how to make natural looking waterfalls.

But here's a shot of the 3-D cinema I finished yesterday (Now Playing: Deuce Bigalow in 3-D):

And since I'm feeling saucy, here's a few assorted nightshots:

Thanks. I'm kinda stuck on where to go from here, though. I tried adding a Sky Swing over the lake, but it didn't work out too well. I'll probabyl give it a second try though.

HELP RENAME MY PARK!

You know, I've never been good at naming my parks, unless they were based around a specific theme. This one however, was just meant to be a realistic amusement park, with mostly generic rides and scenery, with a few possible themed areas here and there.

Actually, I like the name. I kind of fits too.
Sorry you don't like it.
Adventure Valley
Adventure Hills
Screamin' Hills Adventure Park
?

Okay, those are all good suggestions, but I won't use 'em. They actually inspired me to name it

HILLS OF THRILLS

But my favorite out of those was Screamin' Hills Adventure Park, so if I think the above seems too hokey, I'll go with that one ;)

So I've been working on a project that will require a lot of land manipulation, which, honestly, I'm not very good at. So hopefully it turns out good and doesn't take forever. Also, my game has been running slower than usual, so I think af I finish this next coaster, which will be called Speed Havoc, I'm gonna put it up as a scenario and let people go wild so I can focus on restarting Metal Mayhem.

In the meantime, here are some teasers:

"Oh no, look out for that building!!!"

Notice the empty cubicles...

That's it, really. I only have a few other minor details taken care of at this point.

Speed Havoc:

The newest addition to Hills of Thrills is a Turbo Bike coaster that simulates a high-speed motorcycle cruise through crowded freeway lanes, under construction city streets, and through one of the upper floors of a downtown office building.

In your journey, you will weave in and out of stalled traffic, narrowly escape numerous potentially catastrophic accidents, damage a city fire hyndrant (or at least pretend to until the mixmaster can be ride triggered...)...

All in the span of 30 seconds.

Are you ready?

Pics in a second

Oh, and by the way, with the completion of Speed Havoc, I've decided to stop construction on this park. If there's enough demand, I'll upload it as a scenario by the end of this week.

Well thanks! I've always considered myself mediocre, though. Though I had a lot more time with this one, so I guess that shows.
