I've finally got round to making my 1st full size park.
I've only spent a few hours on it so far and have started with a mountain/gold mining town area.

I'd appreciate any comments and suggestions.
Here's what I've done so far...

Wow, looks great! The buildings are beautiful, and the waterfall and the foliage make it all even better. Very cosy, great start!

An excellent start. The natural surrounds are a major plus. Nice attention to detail with the rocks, shore foliage, and trees. Also like the natural rock appearance for the waterfall. You're off to a great start!

Wonderful, beautiful. I agree with everyone.
Britannia? Is this park going to be set in Great Britain?

Here's my parks 1st ride, Motocross Extreme, a Turbo Bike coaster.

It's launched at 75mph and speeds over hills and thru valleys to simulate motocross racing...
http://xs42.xs.to/pics/05335/turbo1.jpg

The station...
http://xs42.xs.to/pics/05335/turbo2.jpg

This section speeds thru traffic... (scenery not real!)
http://xs42.xs.to/pics/05335/turbo3.jpg

Here riders will plunge off the end of a pier!
http://xs42.xs.to/pics/05335/turbo4.jpg
http://xs42.xs.to/pics/05335/turbo5.jpg

Finally an onride view dodging the traffic...

Wow! Great job on the coaster going thru traffic. First shots I have seen using the cars and buses for something other then a parking lot.
Very Original

Too bad the bike coaster does not have the banked S bend.

JCat

Impressive start! And one of the nicer waterfalls. The cycle track ripping through traffic - great idea!

Here's a video of my Motocross Extreme coaster.
I've some tweaking to do on the ride as you can see some of the squares used to remove the default supports.

Ok... That was WAY too fast. It was a great coaster, but how about putting the launch speed down? Also, the brakes at the end would kill, maybe make it longer. Besides that, beautiful park!

Beautiful park so far.
The coaster is really great. Love the usage of supports and that run through the town. Not so sure I like the motorcycles. I find them a bit ...cheesy.
Thanks for letting us see.
Later.

Wow. Looking great.
I like the out and back coaster.
Don't know if you mind, but you can reduce the intensity if you use wider curves instead of tight ones at such high speeds.
Keep it up!
Can't wait for more.

joffy
08-20-2005, 11:09 AM
Yeah I noticed the intenisty was high.
I'll keep tweaking.

Thanks for the comments, helps make it as good as possible

joffy
08-22-2005, 12:31 PM
Well I tweaked it so much I've ended up with a completely different layout!

Not sure which area to start on next, I'm holding back on some until Wild! is out as I seen some nice scenery I wanna use in it.

Started the next themed area of my park: Creepsville...

Here's the entry to the area
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05343/creeps1.jpg

This gothic castle houses a gift shop, drink & food stalls and toilets
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05343/creeps2.jpg
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05343/creeps3.jpg

It's taking me ages to build this park, alot of trial n error, landscape tweaking and annoying building pieces, but hopefully the end results are good?

More soon!

joffy

Here's Creepsville's main ride, the flying coaster: Scream Demon.
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05343/sd1.jpg
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05343/sd2.jpg

The station is housed with part of the castle
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05343/sd3.jpg

The train is power launched thru a cloud of mist
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05343/sd4.jpg

The train flies thru a ruined castle. Smile ya pic is taken here!
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05343/sd5.jpg

I'm surprised the excitement ratings only medium?
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05343/sd6.jpg

The next job is to put in Pumpers superb custom supports

Scream Demon looks awesome. Great theming, and I especially like that foggy cave.

OK the custom supports are done, which was tricky getting some to line up grrrrrr!

Looks quite cool riding it. Will do an onride vid soon.
Not sure about the colour scheme so any suggestions?

Really nice park thus far. I'm impressed and inspired by some of the western scenery. I'm working on the western portion of my own park just now, and have only finished the coaster "BarnStormer" - but I'm going to have to go back and work on my barn now!

Good Stuff! :D

Work is complete on my haunted mansion ride Fright House.

Here's a view of Creepsville
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05346/crv1.jpg

For realism, a large metal building houses the ride, fronted by a castle and mountain.
http://xs43.xs.to/pics/05346/crv2.jpg

The actual ride inside isn't anything spectcular. I used the custom dark rides packs and some of the basic items. It was a pain to build, a real nightmare!

There's gonna be a rapids and a roller soaker going over it so riders can drop water on the rapids riders makin em even wetter!

Though roller soakers are tricky to design as it's hard to keep the speed going on a decent length track without making a unrealisticly high lift hill

Work continues on the Lost Temple...

Rapids and rollersoaker added

The rollersoaker, passes over the rapids several times, allowing riders to drop water to make sure rapid riders are nice n wet... although water cannons are nearby to get revenge!

It lags just a little at times, mostly in night mode, but i've quite a fast spec pc.

Do you mean just 1 part is realistic or as a whole?

I'm waiting to see what new coaster elements are in Wild! before I add any more coasters, but the next area is to be futuristic themed.
It's starting to lag a little at times and theres so much more i plan to do. I've deleted a few things i wasn't 100% happy with, mainly the giant flume and booster bikes.

I also need to redo the haunted house ride but my attempts always turn out poo, so any talented ghost train builders wanna help me out let me know

That's really cool!!!! Love the lights.
I like how you used the land too!
One suggestion...I think it might look better to have a raised tree well instead of the sunken one.
Can't wait to see more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Sci-Fi scenery in the game isn't inspiring me much and i've hit a creative brickwall :bulb:

You should try looking at circlevisions threads.

Yep I have, and his work did inspire me but don't want to just copy what he's done.

Hey Joffy, Park is looking great.

Not trying to promote my own park but thought you could check this thread of my Sci-Fi park ( http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=449918 ) and maybe it will help inspire some ideas for your Sci-Fi area. I made it as if it was on another planet and is completely enclosed.
Also, I think Klinn made a custom scenery set that has some good stuff for a Sci-Fi area.

Cant wait for the next update.......

Nice work Screemer. I'm trying to keep make things realistic so it's tricky.
I have got Klinns excellent custom scenery but some parts have alot of polygons so can cause lag, and as my park grows, so does the lag and i've a fairly beefy pc.

Wow.... I can't believe I've never seen this park before! It's amazing! It's so weird how some of the ideas are so similar to some I had... This park is unbleiveable- keep up the good work. You've encouraged me to start work on my parks when Wild! is out. Keep up the spectacular work!

I'm not gonna be finishing this park, so I'm gonna put up what there is for download.
If you add to it please post some pics, be cool to see what you do with it.
You'll need the custom supports, steelworx, hangar51 and Iceatcs' Brand Name Logos custom scenery.
Includes Soaked! exp.
