 That`s just awesome! And I really mean awesome! I love the atmosphere of the first pic and the overall structures of this project are looking great too. The best custom built Japanes style buildings I`ve seen so far! They `ve got an nice asian flair but are still very unique at the same time...

Edit: BTW, don`t blame your peeps if they start admiring the view - you called for it! ;)

My 1001th post!

Good it was on this park, as this looks like one awesome park in the making. Looks extremly creative, being built into a mountain, and great use of the dark ride scenery!! Keep up the good work

Before I get the next 10 screens a short clarification this scenario is finished. I typically will not post works in progress I wait until the park is complete and in final testing. This one was a total secret but I have a full blown park in the works that a few have seen for critique purposes it will be as detailed as this scenario. I am definately putting a lot more into these things than I used to.

I can't completely finish the Rock Ridge Scenario until the "admiring the view" bug is fixed. The park is done, the objectives set, finances set but you can't play it because the peeps get stuck admiring the view. Maybe it will work for someone but I can't test the objectives until this bug is fixed.

On to more screens...

Reminds me of the House on the Rock in Wisconsin. You should build the infinite room like what the House on the Rock has.

Buildings have interiors as well. Typically this is not something I had focused on in RCT designs but that started to change with Surf City and the new park I am creating and this scenario as much attention as possible has been paid to how things look inside as well as outside.

I think this scenario is a great sampling of what can be done some of the work in the new park is even more extensive however each exterior here takes on a form that allows the functions of the interior of the building.

This is nicely illustrated in the new food courts and cafeterias in my parks. No longer is creating a slab with stalls slapped down and some chairs going to pass for a food court. Food courts and cafeterias should whenever as much as possible be decorated to fit your park theme.

Custom scenery makes this possible and as you have seen in some other parks there are things you can do with some of the Soaked! scenery as well.

Another WOW!

One of the first RCT3 videos and parks I ever saw on this forum was from you, and I have been a fan ever since.

Each park gets better and better. Your attention to detail really shows in this.

Absolutely stunning. Quite impressive! I can imagine how peeps would be admiring the view. The view from down below must be incredible.
Thanks for sharing with us!
Talk to you later.

Those are actually the porch railings from the western original RCT3 scenery just stack em up. Behind the rails are the glass walls also from original RCT3 scenery. Certain areas have a white wall behind the wood that is Klinn's pure white laser screen from his Frameworks set however you could also use the colorable walls from original RCT3 scenery it just wouldn’t be as white and it would have a texture. I wanted smooth and a brighter white so I went with Klinn's screen.

Most of the exterior structure could be done using only original scenery if you used the adventure or spooky castle walls instead of Pumper’s custom castle walls I just like the texture Pumper used better for this application than the ones in the original scenery it looks more like a rustic stone wall.

VERY impressive. This has a whole oriental/Frank Lloyd Wright/Lodge feeling that you've done an unbelievable job with. I'm really, really sorry the bug has affected this, that just a terrible shame. But this is so gorgeous...thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed this!

09-06-2005, 06:14 PM
download soon i hope

09-06-2005, 06:16 PM
this park is alsome, it has a very oreintol feeling. I liked how you used the western fences to do the walls! Great job man! Five stars for youuu!!!!!!

09-06-2005, 06:40 PM
Thanks everyone I really enjoyed building this park I am glad others enjoy the screen shots.

wabigbear: Nice spot on the Frank Lloyd Wright influences, I sort of melded FLW influences with a Japanese but not as modern as he did with his Imperial Hotel that once stood in Tokyo.

AsTroWorLD: I will put a download up when I am done with the screen shots and video, might get that done tonight if I get my work project done in time. Maybe other's won't have the admiring the view problem and can try the scenario. I can't vouch for the objectives since I can't really play it to find out if they are too easy or too hard. If they get a fix for the bugs I will test it at that time and can always put a new DL up once I have tweaked it.

In the mean time at least people could look at the park even if it isn't practical to open it up. It has no lag at all for me it is a fairly small map only has three rides right now and not that many more structures than what I have shown so far so it runs very well for me. Slight lag at night but not bad for the amount of lights I put in. I won’t be adding any more rides since it is a scenario and most of the ride building was supposed to be a part of playing it.

I have a lot of catching up to do soon, and I will be sure to dl this masterpiece. As usual, KF - you're a master at this!

Cool. When I first saw them I thought they were just LA Wall2. Now I see that you were using stacked rails. You gave me an idea on how to finish a hotel balcony I have been working on. Could never get a doorway to fit right, now I see what i can do. Won't have to resort to options cheats like I thought I might.

Thanks again KiDFoX.

WOW! great video. Looks so real. Great job.

Amazing buildings. I hate doing buildings and wish I had the patience to do stuff like that.
What did you use for the slanted beams across the ceilings?

Believe it or not those are actually a part of the porch roof in the western scenery already.

All I included were ramps. I think if the peeps didn't get stuck admiring the view in the main house and I could play the scenario I could have added some to the lake. maybe a skylift or something.

Although I'm sure you've tried everything, have you tried opening the park in the scenerio editor, update the park objectives, etc. and save it back as a scenerio again.
I've tried that before and I've even had peeps disappear.

09-07-2005, 09:59 AM
Haven't tried that specifically. With some difficulty I did get them all out of the park, made some changes and saved. When I opened it up again the same admiring the view problem came up.

KidFox those slow creeping flying camera shots were gorgeous. I loved the slow shot down the hall way with the torches. Very creative and very well done. The music really fit well with what you were going after. All though one part when the drums started kicking in I felt like we were docked with Marlon Brando in Apopcolypse Now where he says "The horror...the horror". A great war movie if you haven't seen it and it stars the President of the United States...Martin Sheen-LOL

Great Video!!!

THose buildings are very very awesome! I like how you incorperated Marmetmar's tree with the bush, unless my eyes fail me..? But overall it's great...flawless!

09-08-2005, 07:22 PM

I love it. You did a fanaminal job on the oriental building. I wish we has some oriental custom content. It is amazing what you did using the avaliable building content we have. Super video work as well.

09-08-2005, 09:01 PM
You are truly out-doing yourself.
That's just awesome.
Wish I had more time to take a look and review. Sorry.
Keep it up!
EDIT: Othay, yust goth hom anth hath tho thee it.
Sorry, just picked my jaw up off the desk.
Damn, now I'm bowing down to you AND ShyGuy.
Your building skill has increased by a thousand percent since your first parks. You never cease to surprise and amaze. Beautiful stuff.
Thanks again for sharing, you're really becoming an inspiration to much of us here.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments.

I had a very clear vision of what I wanted to do with this park while working on structures in my current park project. I took some time out to complete this one while it was fresh in my mind.

The bridges turned out far better than I had imagined which is why I had such long slow camera routes through them in the video they just captured the atmosphere I wanted so perfectly.

I had the idea to just create it as a scenario since the original idea I had was just the buildings. A scenario lets me build the main house bridges and boat houses that I had in mind without trying to fit it in a finished park. I was disappointed that my peeps get stuck admiring the view so I couldn’t try the scenario objectives but I think the rest of it turned out well enough that I wanted to share it anyhow.

If anyone tries the scenario and finds they can play it let me know. I am going to keep trying to tweak it and maybe find a way around the problem but I will be getting back to the big park for awhile first.

Thanks again for your feedback and thanks to those who created the custom scenery it really adds so much to this. Everything could have been done without it but it wouldn’t have looked nearly as good.

Beelitz: That is Marmetmar's tree trying to look like a Bonsai tree. I had seen someone else do this with the bushes and that tree so I can’t take credit for that part I just set in deeper in the ground to try for the Bonsai look.
