View Full Version : Iceatcs' Timber Frame Building Pieces - RELEASED!

09-17-2005, 10:09 PM
Hiya, Iceatcs have returned for more custom objects,
This time, it called Timber frame building which you will find many around in the Europe.
In England, the timber-frame house dates back to at least the 13th century when the country had an abundant supply of oak.
There are some in American but not too sure how many there are (could be very rare).

So it will be lotta of pieces because I have made two types of the position wall which it is one is normal on the grid just like other RCT3's walls, and other is Upper wall for top floor as you can see the picture what I mean about some building have wider top floor than on the basic floor.

Those look wonderful!

09-17-2005, 10:15 PM
Now this will be a very nice set to work with. I foresee a great German village popping up in the future. Great start and thanks for always expanding the game Iceatcs. Beautiful work!

09-17-2005, 10:22 PM

Now I have warning to some of you will find it very hard to built,
Even for me, one whole building took me about 45mins to end.
You might need to switch the grid on to able to make more easily.

09-17-2005, 10:23 PM
MY GOD ICEATCS! I LOVE THOSE BUILDINGS~! I WANT IT SO BAD NOW!!!! :D :D

09-17-2005, 10:33 PM

09-18-2005, 01:57 AM
Any way you could a "barn" set to it? Maybe even the windows for the roof?

09-18-2005, 02:01 AM
Maybe, there are about over 40 pieces already so far. there will be long list to scroll.

windows for the roof is a possible, maybe i will just import the windows only not the roof.

Any way you could a "barn" set to it?
Not too sure what you mean?
Well it is timber frame building set only
By the way, you can make the barn from orginally RCT3 (in the western theme)

09-18-2005, 06:02 AM

Remember most walls are one same ASE model, so you only need to just change the texture without using 3d Editor. :)

09-19-2005, 01:10 PM
Hiya, thanks for comments.
Right I have finished the roof window. The next bit is the chimneys, there will be 2 different types of chimneys - one is wider with 4 or 3 together and other is just small one.

So there is some pictures of roof window.

it is already separated, so you can join it on the normal roof.

One more picture for overview.

09-19-2005, 01:11 PM
Woah nice roof window :D

This is great so far.

09-19-2005, 02:43 PM
Beautiful, iceatcs! I can't wait until we can actually use 'em ;)

-[A.S] Fanie-
09-19-2005, 02:55 PM
Very cool, 1 thing I did notice is the gap between the roof and the wall...

See

09-19-2005, 02:56 PM
just put a wall under the right roof peice perpendicular to the other wall

-[A.S] Fanie-
09-19-2005, 02:57 PM
oh yea:rolleyes:

09-19-2005, 03:00 PM
can't cos it is upper wall cos it is not on the gird line.
You will find out what i mean.

[edit] but i could, the side roof board can cover it up then,

09-19-2005, 03:08 PM
Wow! Great work!
Can't wait to use in Pinocchio Village Haus, in my Disneyland park!
Thanks for giving us these very useful scenery pieces!

09-19-2005, 03:13 PM
Iceatcs: A suggestion, if I may... how about a wall with an open door, so we can plunk it over a path and have the peeps be able to walk inside?

09-19-2005, 03:18 PM
Yeah it is one of my lists, no worries.
I am doing it last because all the walls are same one ASE, When all done, I will make door hole ASE very soon. Also the chimneys

Thanks [A.S] Fanie, i have fixed it then you dont need to add the wall for that.

09-19-2005, 05:31 PM
REALLY looking forward to this release iceatcs...if these are even half the quality of your signs and other releases this is going to be real treat!

I don't want to pile work on your plate, but after you finish this set, if you ever re-visit it in the future I hope you'll think about adding some 'thatch' style rooves.

Again, thanks for you efforts on this, they are really appreciated!

09-19-2005, 05:33 PM
Man could I use these in my new park! I WANT THEM!

09-19-2005, 07:12 PM
Wow! Hey, these are looking great! Any chance of a thatch roof texture? Just an idea... :D

09-19-2005, 07:54 PM
yeah that's what i am thinking at the moment - thatch roof.

09-19-2005, 08:11 PM
i just wanna say you do great work.what else do you have planned?its quit impressive!!!!!!!

09-20-2005, 12:36 AM
VERY NICE. This will be a wonderful set when finished. It should have been one that came with the original game. Can't wait to use this. I can revamp Alpine Village in my Wonder World park!

09-20-2005, 12:32 PM
Great!!! Thank you so much for you creative work! I love it and can`t wait for the release!

09-20-2005, 03:45 PM
I see a wonderfull BGW recreation when this is released.

09-20-2005, 08:31 PM
looking good. i can't wait

i bet you could make a better fantasyland with these. i would like to see that clock you promised me in your logo set LOL. could you make some wood beams that stick you from the walls kind of like these (http://www.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/301938/2/beams.jpg) and maybe some moulding for accents for walls.

you do great work!!!!

09-20-2005, 08:35 PM
GREAT work.

Can I just get down on my knees and say:

This stuff is great!

09-21-2005, 07:30 AM
I am really sorry I don’t think I will release soon.
but maybe i will release it when wild is out.
Bye Bye for 2 months OLD NEWS ;)

[edit] Update of the possible continue project,
if I have time for this week only, I could get it done quickly,
Can you request any objects you wish to add with it. (not promise)
Then I can make it quickly rather that thinkin and making in the same time.

09-21-2005, 07:55 AM
Well I need a gun...............................................................J/k lol. . I understand(kinda) and I hope you have fun with waterever takes two months.....maybe going on a quest to eat Baskin Robbins everyday for two months while living in a box outside with a hedgehog name petty who has bowle(sp I never have had to spell that) movements that spell like Kresmy Kream Douoghnuts which attracts birds who teach you bird languge which cause you to move to the mountians in Asia and grow wings which just so happends makes you a God like figure in the village and cause you to breed with all there village women which in turn cause a small village to developed wings and bird like features which causes my dream of owning a Birdlike Asian form the mountians to come true!!!!!!!!!!!!:bulb:  :haha: :sour: Thanks iceatcs you are one heck of a swell guy.

P.S. The message in the post are don't the thoughts or meanings of hillibilly it is the combinded effect of 6 red bulls and two bags of Starbust at a party last night. Please excuse these and anyother comments about this today. Thank you. (TM)

I don't think I get what you are saying, but if you mean that the pieces we really want I like the walls.

09-21-2005, 09:48 AM
eh? never mind

09-21-2005, 10:32 AM
I got what you meant iceatcs. LOL!

Something I thought would go well with this set would be a chimney...perhaps one that is on the outside of the building on an outer wall? Then a chinmey piece to match for the roof?

Also a 'bay' window would be a nice addition. Tudor home often had bay windows cropping out, often with decorative glass.

This entire set will be welcome whenever you have time to finish it...Thanks!

09-21-2005, 12:16 PM
Good Idea, i will see if i can add this idea, there are lotta thing on the list already but it is worth, so you can make many different styles.

09-21-2005, 01:55 PM
You are a true pioneer, my friend. You and those like you have improved this game so much. Thank you.

09-21-2005, 03:27 PM
Two new pieces, - Chimneys and Windows Extended

09-21-2005, 04:23 PM
This custom set looks great. I dread losing you from the community for 2 months. You will be missed. Here is hoping everything goes well for you.

I hope you will be able to release this set prior to your departure.
If you can not then would you consider releasing what you have completed?

09-21-2005, 04:28 PM
no worries, i got it sorted, as i got the new alienware laptop, i can able to do that when i am away.

As for the promised to splah. :)

what would really put the icing on the iceatcs cake, would be if that clock worked. Great Work, looking forward to its release.

09-21-2005, 04:41 PM
yeah i wish, but the animation is not yet support under the importer at the moment. maybe one day ;)

09-21-2005, 04:41 PM
Ok then I guess there is no hope for me owning a Birdlike Asian, anyway though I get this awsome. Love the chimneys and sign.

09-21-2005, 04:47 PM
sorry for losing the hope, :p
anyway i think i have a enough the models. now the most boring job is icons. god i hate maths.

09-21-2005, 04:57 PM
The chimneys and the bay windows look perfect! Wow! That was fast too! At the clock...I'm another one who will use that probably in every single park I make.

THANK YOU!

I'm amazed that nobody has created a visual icon "selector" for the editor. Where you just click where the icon's at on the image..

One question (since I'm at work and can't see for myself), but are the roofs colorable? It's not an issue, just a curiosity.:)

indeed....i end up using the same kind of wall over and over again, so i just doesn't always look good when i use the set......guess i have to keep trying

great custom scenery though keep up good work:D

10-02-2005, 11:43 AM

I am not sure why i cant put the timberframe download in the game. I have put it in the proper directory......style/themed folder, but when i go into game play and click on the walls ( which is where its under) as soon as i put the cursor over the set i get a no svd error and game freezes up. Any suggestions?

10-02-2005, 04:49 PM
well, i dunno what is it wrong cos it is fully working and no crash on mineso far.

but make sure if it is there are 2 OVL file and the folder 'Iceatcs' Timber Frame Building Pieces' in the folder that you are suppose import in Themed folder.

If not, you need delete it and download it, try again.

By the way, there will be update for that pack. check on it

I love this building set! It is awesome. Thanks Iceatcs!

If you ever get around to adding some more pieces, a pointed roof cap would be nice. I couldn't find one that looked real good, so I'm using the bamboo one for now.

11-10-2005, 10:09 PM
i already have it and i love it, but do you have an update so it works in wild ???

11-10-2005, 11:51 PM
