View Full Version : Prefab. Swiss Lodge w/ Timberframe Custom Scenery- Gondola Stations Now Available!

10-25-2005, 02:49 PM

Anyway, here's my new Swiss Lodge prefabricated building, made with Iceatcs' TimberFrame building set (version 1) (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=494001)

The download is a zip file with two sections: the base walls and the roof section. This makes it easy to place your paths, shops and other items inside.

Please note that this set may not work with the new version of Ieatc's timberframe set (with transparent windws) as when I tried to load it the game crashed- but the park this this is in loads just fine, so I will re-save it and update the download file

That looks great Vodhin. I am going to download it to try and figure out how to use his custom scenery set. So far I have hit brick walls with it...

Hey Vodhin,

Looks to me like The Skipper has put custom structures in custom scenery. That is where my thread of prefab buildings was moved.

Nice job on the swiss lodge by the way I just tried that set out for the first time on my set of new scenarios it is a great set.

This is the best building i've seen with this pack for a while.

Well done!

Thanks for the kind words. I do believe that between this set and the shyguy's Disneyworld set, we have some of the best building pieces of any sim game. I'm really looking forward to Iceatcs update, and I do hope that that is soon :D

I'm continuing this set with a couple of station houses. Here's my latest, a double wide gondola house for a skyride:

Very Nice work you got here Vodhin,

p.s. thanks for the video tutorial you made about the ACE/ASE it really helped, i actually managed to get one to work.

Before that tutorial i had no clue what to do.

Anyway i agree with you on the shyguy and iceact remarks, im making my park and before i even start making the mainstreet i'm waiting for shyguys pack and wild.

Just a big holler to all the custom scenery makers and thanking them what they have done.

Cant wait to see what you will be doing when the update for iceacts timber frame buildings. You really know how to use this pack, well done!

I have also to thank you for the same thing vodhin, your video tutorial was awesome, with it I can made good videos now. Im working now with teen_R_A_V_E_N doing a very special movie of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, adn without your tutorial this wouldn't be possible.

Were is the thread of that custom scenery, I would like to look at it and i dont find it with search.

Ok... I'll give you a chance ;) Actually, the name of his thread is "Main Street Scenery Pack" in the Custom Scenery exchange forum> http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=496680

Thanks for the compliments on the ASE tutorial- I see that has great staying power. As I've mentioned in a few other threads, I'm writing a companion to that tutorial that will reveal some of the tricks I've used to make the videos. It's going to be a while before it comes out, maybe in time for Christmas? It won't cover all of my tricks, but but definately the more obvious ones... and then a few neat ideas that I've come up with while making my videos.

Took me a while and many times watching it over and over to figure it out thought im just slow like that.

is there a way that you can use the ase to sort of follow paths along the ground whenever i seem to click the f thing they go miles up in the air.

Edit: oh wait the red line sorts that.

Sorry about that.

Update: I've been building a set of gondola houses with this set and should have a download for them in the near future. Each building uses elements from Iceatcs TimberFrame set and Pumper's SteelWorx set.

The Steelworx pieces are used for grid iron style supports for the lift trains and for truss work inside some of the buildings. If you don't have Steelworx set installed, the building should still load just fine, but with the supports.

Here's a look ate the different building styles.

Large Double Gondola House, with room below for a few shops, Small Double Gondola House, and A Small Single Station and a Large Single Mid-Station (exits at right angles) with a food court above..

Moveed to Structures forum as that is how The Skipper appears to be doing it. I'm sure he'll let me know if I'm wrong :-)

I have been debating this since this structure uses Fan created parts. I have pust several of these in Custom Scenery.

This is kind of like if someone posts a coaster, but has a video, it can go in two places. Same for a Park promo. One I had in Media and the member asked it be in Parks. Go figure.:D

11-01-2005, 09:52 AM
The only thing I would suggest is that any structures that contain custom scenery should be clearly marked as so by the original poster, as Vodhin has done so here.

11-01-2005, 09:57 AM
I think that's the way it should be, but like me, you see what kind of header's is the "norm" for all too many members.

11-01-2005, 09:25 PM
OooOo... I'm getting the attention of Mr. Brookes! hiya!

Actually I'll have to edit the title, since I only said Swiss Lodge- not really a clear indication of a custom set. Skipper has a poll going and I'll post an idea over there...

11-01-2005, 09:45 PM
wow, didnt see the update, and i love it, those are really look like a ski resort. i have only thought to use them for tutor or 1800's sytle building.
Brilliant works
There will be new update by next week and you might have gain more ideas for prefabs.

11-01-2005, 10:10 PM
Cool! I'm looking forward to it!. Hey, Iceatcs, could you skin a new version of your door with the same texture as the Adventure stone walls and the Western walls? Both of those textures really work well with your fabulous set! A Window framed to match might be good, too....

Shameless Plug :D > Vodhin's new Tutorial Video - Building Structures (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=500865) Come and see how I make these buildings...

11-02-2005, 01:38 AM
nice ideas, i will do the doors when the next small version v3, and the next pack but not the next release, will be new texture over most of the previous 3D models. Dunno which built style i am going to pick next.

11-06-2005, 12:58 PM
I love these Vodhin. You amaze me. You seem to do everything so well, from these buildings to your website, as well as your movies.

The thing you seem to do the best though, is sharing. Thank You.

Here's the new Gondola Houses! Larger structures have been split into two parts, their base walls and a roof to cover it with. This should make it easy to place paths and shops /stalles inside.

(please note that some pics were taken before Iceatcs updated his Timberframe Building set- but rest assured, I have updated the structures with the new pieces and they now all take advantacge of his wonderful transparent windows)

Hope you all enjoy!
