View Full Version : TIME the Ride (Update 11/8)

I'm taking a break from my park (check my sig for it) to pursue an idea i first had in RCT 1, about 6 years ago. back in Adrenaline Heights I built a themed ride that I absolutely loved, but due to certain limits in those days (haha) it was far short of the mental image I had of it. Well thanks to RCT 3 and certain key custom scenery packs and expansion themes I can finally realize it in its entirety :)

First screens:

Parking lot and entrance to the ride

Entrance way and logo

Entrance building

Inside the entrance building. Nothing but utter blackness and a message for the riders. (There are paths, they're just hidden underneath the flooring)

After guests walk past the ominous message, they walk into the station building

Another view of the entrance and exit (I purposely deleted the ride to build some suspense :) )

So what type of ride is it? A roller coaster? a water ride? a flat ride :p ?

And what's with the title? How is this ride going to be themed? What ride idea could possibly stick with someone for 6 years?

Stay tuned to find out, first update will be tomorrow night.

Feedback please :) I really do use it!

I like what I see so far apart from : http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/5525/shot01082vn.jpg I think it just looks wrong. I think a spooky theme would be better suited than utter blackness :) Just My Opinion however.

Alright, so I had to put things on hold until I had Wild, but now things are back up and running. In this post you'll get at least one question answered, the type of ride is.......well it was twister, but to utilize the new dive loops and zero g-rolls, ive switched it to extended, but still using twister trains. This ride is going to be so large it will take up an entire 128x128 map, and every inch will be perfectly detailed, so each update could take a while. There will be about 7-8 "sections" of this ride. (I can't go in to anymore detail about the sections cause i dont wanna give anything away :) ). Screens from the first section are being released today...

Riders leave the station to utter blackness and a single message...(omg, are we gonna run right into that wall!?!)

After ducking beneath the first message...

And finally...

And then the riders are launched through a barrel roll and around a quick turn and suddenly...

Another random pic in space

And thats it for that section. The ride through space is about 2 minutes total.

So with that are there less questions now...or more? :)

What did that message in the beggining mean? What are the "sections"? What kind of journey is it going to take?

While I love keeping you guys in suspense, i will give you one teaser pic of the next section...

Hopefully I'll have this section finished this week.

I use it, I promise. haha

I think it's a multi-themed coaster that tells the story of the world...sure you put some dinosaurs etc. etc. etc. till you get the future?

I don't know, I'm just trying to guess:sour:

the track is black/black/black, its just that the screens were taken during the day, so the sun is reflecting off the track. (The elements dont acknowledge the pitch black walls existence).

And for you mr. Pate....I have no idea what you're talking about, haha ;)

Oh.... i would swear but the forums don't allow that
You got me in suspense!!!
I can't wait!!!:sour: :sour:

Have you successfully achieved total blackness with the track? For me, the track even shows even during the night. and yes, i was using long tunnels too to make sure light wasn't poking in.

This ride is looking AWESOME, Dave!!! I'm also currently working on a sort of time travel ride! There seem to be a lot of those coming out now that we have dinosaurs. :D Can't wait to see more of your work!

To make a track piece dissapear, just put the terrain tiles included in Soaked I guess over the track... or if you want to delete the entire track, go to your graphics options, select custom, LOD options, and set Track view distance to nothing. for the supports you could do the same. to finish off you can delete the shadows...

I'm making a space coaster and i want to have that stars too

I think the stars are some kind of custom scenery, but I could be wrong..

Anyway, the coaster's looking good:)
