I was just wondering;

Say you want to create a wall, but it isn't exactly square, more like a rectangle. When you go to create the scenery ovl. it says the texture must be to the power of 2, but you dont want it to be...

What do you do then?

The actual texture file needs to be square & 128x128 256x256 etc. But the texture on it can be, for example 256x128 & the rest of the texture file can be white or whatever. You can then map the 256x128 part onto the rectangular model & not use the rest of the texture on it.

ahh, so, create a wall in Milkshape (or whatever other 3d prog.) then map the texture so the white bits are like, on the back of the wall, and the main part you want showing at the front?

You can do that if you want, or have the same texture on both sides of the wall if that's what you want. Or you could even have 2 different 256x128 textures on the same texture file & use one on each side of the wall.

Thanks for the congrats ;)

The texture file does have to be square. What I meant was you could use 2 different 256x128 textures put together as a 256x256 texture file & then use the different ones on each side of the wall.

In a lot of games you can use rectangular texture files, but for RCT3 it has to be square.

Nice pic of the sign

Ok, I think you mean...

Make a duplicate of the [a.s] logo I made in paint(256x128) and save both of them as 1. Then resize the Image to 256x256, add it to the wall so that the true wall is on the front and the duplicate on the back.

Is that what you mean?

Yes, you can do that, as long as the final image is 256x256 square it'll work fine. You can have the same thing for both sides or 2 different textures if you want.

It's ok, I decided to use my brain and figure out that it doesn't matter if its square, cause it gets stretched out on the wall anyway :D

You could cut it in half and make two walls...

If you have a texture that's about the right size, it should come out right. If you can't get it going, shoot me the model/texture files & I'll see what I can do with it.

AGHHH this is so Frustrating!

It's doing the same as it did with my snow shovel pieces. I filled out everything it says on Klinns tutorial, added the textures and all that. Save the theme folder then click install theme, but it doesn't do jack s**t!!!

WHY!?!?!?!?!?!?!

use my updated tutorial for latest version.
Importer tutorial. (http://www.iceatcs.co.uk/rct3/TutorialForUsingJonwilsRCT3ImporterProgramV111.htm)
because klinn's tutorial is too old for the new importer.

Make sure check that it might be in your C:/style, if so move to the atari's themed folder
