Once-upon-a-time Merrydown was a very popular theme park, people would travel the length of the country just to visit its attractions. When Multi-million pound theme parks with state of the art rides started to emerge, Merrydown was overshadowed and sadly forgotten...Time has been very cruel to Merrydown. It's been abandoned for a good few years now

Could Merrydown ever shine as it did before..?

Could 'you' be the one to bring Merrydown back to life..?

This prime location is going for a steal, You will have plenty of land to expand on, Property includes various out-buildings (in need of repair), an original, working 'Haunted Mansion' ride and a renowned fishing lake. Access to the park via a delightful steam train, Some time and money will need to be spent on restoration - though be aware, your Investors and the local community have some very strong views on what should be going down...in Merrydown!

::Viewing by appointment only::

    That is AMAZING!!! A park that has a plot to it! Sadly, I don't have the "offical" version of Wild! though.:(

:)

I wanted to create some scenarios that use all the features of RCT3 and the expansions - so you will be expected to look after animals, build firework displays to please a VIPs, build a pool with slides, create areas of certain theme and of course build some rollercoasters too - I miss the old style of gameplay that was in RCT1 & 2 but only from a gameplay point of view - limited funds, limited rides [you had to wait to research before you could place anything good - watching your park and peeps as you also had to wait for funds to rise so you could finish your coaster that would take almost a year to build...!!! Once your park was established, the money would roll in.... with RCT3 graphics, rides and features.. Does anyone else want this...?

With Merrydown you will have alot to clean up and you will have very limited funds, though I have built in challenges and awards that will give you quite a bit more, should you succeed them.

be sure and switch on 'Research' otherwise you won't have any rides..!

This scenario looks like it's going to be challenging and fun at the same time. I just downloaded it and can't wait to go play it.

I played the scenario last night. I really like the look and feel of the place, and I think it's a lot of fun, however, I am wondering if you actually play tested it?

The reason I ask is one of the first challenges is to sell a food item, yet NONE of the peeps are hungry. Not one food item sold in 30 days! Also, the VIP wants to see a specific themed ride, and I used 9 pieces of that scenery, and the VIP was not impressed. Also, that particular theme has none of it's rides available. There is also no loan money available from the bank, so I had to crawl along on nickels and dimes for quite some time. And finally, you require X amount of animals, which would require almost all the money available just to buy the animals, let alone extra enclosures and what not. I suppose I could have gotten more money by demolishing things, but I wanted to preserve as much as possible for eventual restoration.

I love a challenge, and really enjoyed your bench, and especially the story behind the park. Perhaps you could "tweek" this just a little? It is rather frustrating to have to wait five minutes to get enough money to buy one path tile!

Hi rjg,

So far what you speak of is what I intended for this scenario. I have play tested it and completed it too.

I have made some changes from the things you found/suggested, as you can see version 1.2 is up for download:

# There is now a 'small' loan available. the interest rates are quite high though.

# A couple more 'western' theme rides are available from the start.

# The 'cookie' challenge has been pushed back to well into year 2.

# There are even a couple of wild horses running about which you can capture to start you off.

# You have to breed the horses to get the right amount and still have funds available.

# Research is now switched on from the start, though at very low levels

TIP: the new building at the gates is perfect for a couple of 'custom' stalls.

I understand you wanted to keep the ruined rides, but that is one way of making money by selling them for scrap.
Western rides - you only need one or two western themed rides, western buildings and some scenery to satisfy the first peep. - remember generics themed rides can be used in the western theme, but trees and scenery must be of the the theme requested. TIP: The target happiness for the VIPeeps is 'HIGH' but at a minimum high[?];)... I found that letting the first VIPeep wander around by himself worked best to satisfy him.

I have tried this scenario a few times. More often than not I ran out of money, big style!...But go slow, and start very small!!! I got to a stage a few times where I had stacks of money pouring in, while running out of space, moving, replacing rides to keep up interest.

I'm glad you liked it, I value your opinion. It is a very tough scenario, but not impossible, just very long:
