The Trash Can delete feature that came in the game does NOT delete custom scenery, it only deletes scenery included with install of game or expansions. Just wanted to give the scenery makers a heads up.

They probably know that by now.

Well I still think it should have been posted, in case we get new scenery makers or someone who uses custom scenery and cant figure out why the delete feature doesnt work. This should have been posted when it was first realized back when custom scenery was first introduced to RCT3

Gust the global delete trashcan doesn’t work the individually one will work. I am not a 100% positive so maybe a more experienced scenery maker can explain this better but I believe the reason most scenery doesn’t work with the global delete trashcan is because you need to have collision detection turned on for the scenery objects and than that takes away from the versatility of the piece.

You are correct CoasterSim.Fan, you can delete any of the custom scenery pieces by clicking on it & then clicking the trash can icon in the pop-up window. Virtually all of the custom scenery doesn't use the collision detection so that you can place them anywhere you want in the game.

I once made a complex structure with custom scenery. Then I didn't want it. Man that was a pain.

Actually, you can delete custom scenery. Just, only the ones that have collision detection.

But seriously , where have you been?

Actually, I just started dabbling in RCT3 custom scenery only recently, within the last week or so

If you use RCT3's single-trash-can deletion tool (not the multiple-can 'area delete' tool) you can delete custom scenery pieces by clicking on them one after another. Not as fast as deleting a whole area, but quicker than using the regular cursor to select each piece then clicking the trash can icon.

Some pieces, such as most of my Electroshock set, can be removed with the area-deletion tool. But others, such as my Frameworks set, I wanted to be able to place on a path (i.e. no path collision) and turning that off has the side effect of making the piece unusable with the mass-deletion tool. Trade-offs. :)

BTW LReyome27, I mentioned these things back in the ReadMe and forum post for my Electroshock set, which was the first custom set released, so perhaps subsequent authors felt that it was already common knowledge and didn't include the info.

I never use the trash-can delete thing anyway. I always click on the Paths button and right-click the custom scenery to delete them.
