Jonwil, is it possible to write a small converter app that quickly would update the files even if they are in subfolders either as a standalone application or build it into your next application. This would simply take the .ovl files and update all of them on the fly saving the many scenery makers and their many pieces a lot of time.

It could even be a drag and drop converter as simple and quick to use as possible.

I realize its probably a onetime need, but it would greatly get the community back up to par.

One nice thing is if another expansion pack comes out and the scenery needs to be updated again, a reworking on the converter app could quickly be amended to update the older scenery.

Anyhow its just a idea and I thought this would help a lot of people out. Thanks my friend for your considerations of it.;)

Its not that simple.
I can fix the custom scenery up but only with a manual process.
You cant write a program to fix the scenery.

The only ways to do it are to re-export it (which means you need the source files) or for me to do the manual process (using my knowledge of the internals of ovl files)

Oh well....it was worth a shot anyhow. A drag and drop utility could probably have saved time for the scenerymakers. But inevitably, the community will fix it anyhow, so it was just a shortcut idea.

Well at least I had to ask.... :GRINS:
