I have made a fairly accurate, but still unfinished, recreation of Cinderella Castle in Walt Disney World (still praying for Max's set). It is to the best of my ability with ShyGuy's mainstreet sets. Thanks ShyGuy! ;) Because I have no pointed spires, I had to improvise with other roofs. The pics are below and I am open to any comments and suggestions. Thanks!

I think it looks like sleeping beauty castle. Every Cinderella Castle made on these boards. Looks nothing like cinderella castle. and looks like an amazing sleeping beauty castle.

Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella?:bulb:

BTW, how big is the castle? Is it scale, or no...

I think the confusion comes in because not everyone realizes that Sleeping Beauty Castle is in CA and Cinderella Castle is in FL. They are two completely different castles from two completely different movies!!!!

Sleeping Beauty's castle is about one third the height of Cinderellas, and predominately grey and pink, while FL is grey and blue.

Very nice job, using available materials. I remember some of the castle's produced in RCT2, and most of those were just as cleverly designed. Good job!

Beleive me I know my disney castles. I'm a disney freak like that. The base of the the castle he made (the stone part) is literally Sleeping Beauty Castle (CA's), because you can't walk through Cinderella castle's base but you can with sleeping beauty's. The bottom of the castle part is almost exactly like Cinderella Castle. But the towers look like Sleeping beauty castle's towers in Disneyland Paris. Which happens to be the same size as Cinderella Castle in FL.

Hey sorry to bust anyone's bubble, but this castle is predominately Cinderella's castle. While it does use some features not part of cinderella's castle (square spires, etc.), the castle shows absolutely no simarlarities to Sleeping Beauty's Castle. I used pictures of Cinderella's castle and have been to WDW 15+ times and am a Disneyholic, lol. To settle the dispute I will add some pictures and you can compare. Thanks for the comments, though guys. I really appreciate your willingness to give suggestions and critiques so please take this information not as a "comeback" but as information as to why I built the castle this way, Thanks!

^As you can see the gold spires, gothic-styled entrance w/ balcony and double door, lone extra-tall spire, etc. are definitely Cinderella's.

^Here the castle is much more squat and less triangular, the entrance is much more medeival, no gold spires, and the biggest change...it's PINK! lol!

P.S. -both castles are walk-a-throughable (new word!), just Cinderella's castle is sometimes blocked off because of performances of Cinderellabration (or the previous show, Cinderella's Surprise Celebration...or something like that) Once again, Thanks!

Eh hem, I beg to differ. First of all, There were approximatly 16 golden spires (or pointy things if you will) on sleeping beauty castle.

You can't call yourself a disney expert if you cant appreciate Sleeping Bueaty Castle in CA. The only castle Walt Disney lived to see.

Um...k_peek_2000...you can walk through Cinderella's castle. There's no other way to get to The Round Table restaurant thats in the bottom if you couldn't. Plus, I think I have to agree with drumbum67 here: the castle's overall design, from the pictures here, is Cinderella's castle. Notice the clock in the center with the two adorned spires on the left and right. I think if he used the round roof pieces on the tops of those two spires it would have signified it more. Plus, the setting of the taller portion is more back and to the left where Sleeping Beauty's castle is right up front where Cinderella's clock tower is located. Hope that description makes since. I work at Walt Disney corporate so I see the castle quite often. :haha:

Ahhh, this is what I was afraid of...I never meant to cause something, I was just hoping you would understand that the castle does look much more like Cinderella's castle...I was just trying to provide some information and get a different perspective on my castle and I think most people would consider the castle pinkish! Next, I was also pertaining to the entire spire piece. Anyway, I hope most Disney experts would call this colser to Cinderella's castle. If anyone has any more constructive comments or suggestions, please respond. I'd like any help to make this castle more like Cinderella's castle. Help with how to make the tallest spire a hexagonal shape, perspective tricks (making the castle look taller than it already is, like the tricks Disney uses), or how to get a pointed blue spire for the front of the castle because right now what I have looks ugly, or anything else would be appreciated. Thanks again!

P.S. K Peek, I never called myself a Disney expert but I do know a bit about WDW.

drumbum...I believe there is a cylindrical rooftop for the medieval theming that you can color blue. Check in that set, though I'm not sure just how big it is in reference to the spires you have constructed there.

Also, the force perspective (making the top of the building slighty smaller than the footprint of the building) would be a little difficult to do in RCT3, mainly because RCT3 is still a little too restrictive on the gridsystem...of course, with a fully open system, the game would be quite slow.

Also, I apologize if I came off as putting someone down or yelling...I was just stating what I knew to correct any misunderstandings.

I certainly didn't want to start a firefight either, it just seemed to me from the posts that people were confusing the two castles! And Sleeping Beauty castle was painted pink, but quickly faded to a salmon (orange) sort of color in the southern California sun. I saw it in 1962, probably long before most of you guys were even born! :haha:

Can't help you much with how to make it better. The limited supply of pieces available in RCT3 makes for some compromises. As I stated previously, I remember some of the Disney castles created in RCT2 and especially RCT1 that were "interesting" to say the least!!!!

I think the castle looks great! Why do ya'll have to sit there and pick it apart.
Great job drumbum!

I've been to Disneyworld at least twenty times since I moved to Florida, and I have to agree with you. I've been to Disneyland itself over a hundred times and neither castle is pink. If you walk up close, they are a greyish color. The pink is from a lighting effect or when the sun is going down. I use to live in California; so if he wants to argue that it's pink, that's up to him, I guess we don't know what we're talking about. :D

P.S. I've never seen it orange either. At night these are special lighting effects. The picture you are showing doesn't even resemble the one in Orlando or Anaheim, so I don't know where you got this from.

Ok, well first of all...TGIF and happy Friday the 13th! Anyway thanks for the info about the spires, is that in a custom scenery set? That would make my castle a lot more realistic. And I don't know if you were talking to me or K Peek, Eagle001, but if you were talking to K peek, the castle looks different because I think it has been decorated with gold for the Happiest Homecoming on Earth Celebration (Disneyland's 50th anniversary). Sorry if you knew that and were talking to me. Also, sorry if the castle is orangeish, but from the pictures I have seen it looks pinkish. I have just always seen it pink, like in models and figurines of it, it always seemed pink. Thanks again for the comments and if anyone could help me with getting rounded spires, or quarter block rounded walls, that would be awesome and might help to clear the confusion of what the castle looks like. I think rounded spires would make all the difference but thanks for the helpful tips and comments. I really appreciate it! Thanks again!

Ok, so I just decided I would download more custom scenery sets to make this better...and I went a bit crazy and downloaded about 10 sets...so I'll be back later but for now I have..rounded spires, Cinderella castle type block walls, and lots more from MaxInfinity's set! I love you, MaxInfnity! Anyway...if anyone calls this Sleeping Beauty's Castle this time, I'm going to flip! Just kidding with you K peek, I really appreciated your comments!. :p I'll be back later, maybe.

Looking forward to seeing it drumbum67, and this time, I'm just going to let you know what I think of the design you did, and not what it resembles.

But, for those of you curious, let me try to clear up the misunderstandings. Here is a photo of the original model of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, the original model for the UPDATE. The castle had a different color scheme when it was built in 1955, so basically everyone is right here. Until the 1983 refurbishment of Fantasyland, Sleeping Beauty Castle was painted a different color scheme: white with blue spires. When Cinderella Castle was built in 1971, it went for a different look by opting for gray and blue, a color scheme that continues to this day. After 1983, though, Sleeping Beauty Castle switched to the now-familiar pink and blue, generating an arguably warmer and more comfortable atmosphere. Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant at Disneyland Paris, built in 1989, mimicked the new look of Sleeping Beauty Castle and its pink and blue color scheme.

There are three Sleeping Beauty Castles, two identical ones at Disneyland California and Disneyland Hong Kong, and then the more fantasy-driven and whimsical castle at Disneyland Paris. All three are Sleeping Beauty Castle, and all three use a pink and blue color scheme to provide the warmer color, but more significantly to distinguish Sleeping Beauty Castle from Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World, one that uses a lightgrey and blue color scheme.

I tell you what, they really make us know our Disney history to work here. :haha:

You are amazing cac2889, thanks a ton for clearing that up and sharing something I never would have thought (Sleeping Beauty castle was white). I have a hard time picturing Sleeping Beauty's castle white, it wouldn't seem to have the same...radiance (I guess that is the right word...?). Thanks

I can do one better, I found an old stock photo later this afternoon in the archives...its a photo of WHITE Sleep Beauty Castle with Matterhorn Mountain in the background. Quite an interesting photo actually. I've never taken the time to look for a pre-1980s photo of SBC until now. Anyway, enjoy. :)

Thanks again cac2889, that is something I have never seen or heard. Just to let you guys know, I'll try to provide a download link for the castle I previously built but I am ending up just completely rebuilding the castle. The entire front excluding the doorway (unless MaxInfinity's new set is released soon) will be rebuilt but the middle part will be made using the same ideas, just enlarged, because it took me a while to figure out how to successfully recreate that part and I thought that part turned out alright. So as I said I will try to provide a download link but it might take awhile for me to figure out how. By the way, Cac2889, what and where is your job at Disney. I am very interested and would like to know unless you would prefer not to tell. You seem very Disney-smart! Thanks!

I didn't realize that the Matterhorn was so big, and right beside the castle.

The Matterhorn is actually is alot bigger than Cinderellas castle. Now alot of people bicker that the Sleeping beutys castle is too samall. I disagree I've been to both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom a million times. Cinderellas castles cool but Sleeping Beutys castle in California is my favorite. Also the Magic Kingdom in floridia is a bit of disapointment if youve been to Disneyland California.

P.S. I'm not trying to cause any trouble just my opinion, but the overall Disney World resort is better
