Update

RCTPyro is back up and running, and anyone looking for advice on Fireworks should once again check out this great site!

www.rctpyro.com

Max ;)

============

Ok, so with RCTPyro down (6....7....hmmm) does anyone have the latest pck (10 or non-buggy 11) which could be placed somewhere until Pyro returns?

Dean? Could you post it? At least then we'd still have access and a place to go get them for now :)

Thanxs!

Edit: As with many others here Dean we hope things are going ok, and expect you back soon....

I'll take anything at the moment - the measly 29 fireworks you get with the game are just not enough....:weird:

I'm looking for them too. After a reinstallation, I lost them.

Well this is a dissappointment... I've seen screenshots of people's screens with all the fireworks in it... :sour:

I wasn't asking for much guys... just for someone to take 5 minutes, zip up their fireworks folder, then post it on rapidshare or somewhere where I (and as I've discovered several others) could get at them... :weird:

I mean, if someone said I deleted X coaster or Y custom pack and I had it, I'd post it for ya - since in this case, the entire site has been gone for two weeks and appears not to be returning soon... there isn't even a tutorial to learn to make them, cause it was also posted at Pyro and its gone...

I'm waiting for this too. I should have registered earlier. :sour:

Thanks PyroMikkel, I actually got yours already when I fixed your link in the other message ;) I hope to have a look through them tonight once I get home ( can't spend another 5 hours here tying to convince someone to do a simple task - I have a life and other things to do today :D )

And here's the funny part Imag, you had to register at RCTPyro to download the pack, so I did, then I had to wait for a return message, which I got, then I went to get the pack the next morning - and the site was gone.... :haha: Guess I should of stayed up that extra 10 minutes and got them...

Max, I have the fireworks pack 11V2.exe (not sure if it's the buggy or fixed one.) If Dean gives the ok, I'll send it.

01-21-2006, 11:25 AM
Thanks joe and claud (I thought I was taking to myself for too long - the straight jacket in the corner was looking mighty cozy...) you're right claud, the link is broken, donno why though cause it looks like you did it ok... :bulb:

joetomnj

Max, let me know where you want it sent, I'll send it up.

MaxximvS
01-21-2006, 08:28 PM
well, you could send it to me direct at maxximvs@gmail.com or post it on rapidshare - your choice. I'm grateful for any way possible...

edit: changes credits screen for movies to make sure Joe and modstothemax.com is there

edit2: checked that rapidshare link of claud's, it looks ok - might have to e-mail me the pack as if it is too big (?) rapidshare can't handle it (? just guessing... don't really know if the link is valid - I mean, rapidshare holds 100MB so I doubt the pack is the problem... ok, too tired, just babbling now... heh)

OK Max, you have mail! File size was only 1.5 megs so it wasn't a problem on my end. Have fun!

01-22-2006, 10:04 AM
Thanks Joe, but after 10 hours - still no e-mail in the inbox. I am begining to think that the fireworks are a beginner AOL user curse or something :p

I'll keep an eye out for the e-mail all day, and if it arrives I'll edit this message. If not, I could get it from your site? Since you do have a Mods' site, you make a post about it and then close the post when (if) Deans site returns :D

Max, I just re-sent it about an hour ago. For some reason it wouldn't let me send an exe. I've since zip'ed the exe and hopefully it will go this time. If not, I'll load it on my site (joetomnj.net) so you can d/load it.

(EDIT) Just checked and it bounced back again Max..I'll load it up and post the link for you.

(Edit2) You can get it here Max: joetomnj.net/RCT3files/fireworkspack11V2.zip

Edit: thanks again Joe - I'll watch for the edit on your post (hehe) and I'll post when (IF) I can get it (LOL)

Edit 2: I Got Them! LMAO!

Just curious...those fireworks don't work with Wild! installed, do they? I installed them quite stupidily without thinking and now when I try to load a park I've been working on for quite a while it crashes during the preactive portion of loading. Anyone know if its a particular firework, or if its the entire pack not working with Wild! ? Thanks!

OMG! I just installed 1,224 fireworks! That would take forever to create! :eek2:

Do you have Wild! installed? I installed the pack just now and it is causing the game to crash at the preactivate state. I removed all of the fireworks to see if that was the problem, and it didn't crash. Anyone know if its just one of the fireworks causing the problem?

Hmmm...did a little research...it appears that Version II of the pack also causes all sandboxes to crash as well. I'll try removing all of the After-Soaked! fireworks as suggested earlier, though it doesn't make much sense seen as though I HAVE Soaked!. I'll let you know if it works.

I do have Wild!. I might have to face the problem if I get a CRASH!

I also had that problem too, which is why I mentioned to Max it might still be a problem. You can go in and remove the post soaked fireworks (They are the ones less than 90k in the pack) That fixed my problem as soon as they were removed.

Yep...I did that and it fixed the problem. I'm curious now as to why the post Soaked! fireworks don't work. Ah well.

I just sorted out the pre Soaked! and post Soaked! fireworks. I found a much easier way to remove the post Soaked! fireworks!

1. Create a folder for the post Soaked! fireworks in My documents.
2. Open up the C:\Program Files\Atari\RollerCoaster TycoonŽ 3\Fireworks folder.
3. Under the "Views" tab, apply "Details".
4. Make sure the "Size" detail is applied.
5. Left click and hold down to highlight all the files that have a size under 90 KB it lists organized from greatest size to least or least to greatest size.
6. Quickly "Cut" and "Paste" all the post Soaked! fireworks into the folder to keep them.

:D

Been busy working on that Underwater Tutorial all day, but did discover this after the fact... and yes Img - thats the FAST way to get the 'soakers' out of there! LOL! :D

Once I have them working (I have to do the steps now :) ) I'm going to do a re-zip. This way others can get them for now until they are fixed - without the errors we had.

RCT, and everyone else...I'll get right on it and try to remove the post soaked ones. Maybe I'll just see how the exe is set and just zip up all the fireworks I have total. (We shall see).

(Edit) Well, here's my fixed version of the pack..I call it version 3 of fireworks pack 11.

way to go Joe :) you th'one...

Some cleanup is required in the pack, as there are several dups under different names. I hope that once I get a free moment I can go though and 'narrow down' the list to a reasonable amount (this of course is after 2 parks, 2 vids and no hair left hehehe :D )
