View Full Version : Gothic Church - Final - 3/08/06

This is from a park I've been working on since Last year. I'm still playing around it it from time to time. This is a screen shot from the church. Had it finished a few weeks after the Gothic and Main Street scenery packs were out. Still working on the detail and angles of the ride itself.

The funny part is I noticed it when I was syncing some of the ride. Forgot how cool it looked, so I had to share it! Still need to add some lighting for the dome ceiling in the center.

Thanks for the few comments. Strange I get very little acknowledgment of my work. Any way, thought I'd show the "progress" of how this thing went. I don't have a pic of the original one, but I do have versions 2,3 and 4. I'm waiting for Screamworx to be released for a final version (providing there's something in the set I can use). Any suggestions would be helpful. Give me some comments guys.

Hoo..lee.. (unable to be said here) That looks fantastic CT82!

I really like those last 2 pics, I think the lights set everything off much better than the regular lighting from the game.

The lighting in the first pic are torches from Paradise set, the other two are using Atlantis torches. The second pic is also using DRP Lightz. I will be using those in the final version as well to light the dome.
The Pulpit I'm having problems with, still trying to make a design that I like. Need a little help (ideas) of a good one.

mmm...the worlds only R rated ride.

grod4L's Avondale Manor gives you a lot of inspirations ... looks good. I like the idea with the monks very much. You should add some hidden speakers with gregorian chorales, if you release this church sometimes.

Actually, only one inspiration. The arched ceilings. If you look through his thread, you can see where I asked about them. Something like October last year. But I couldn't use them at that time, because it overlapped the tiles and stuck out. The rest I had there for a long time now since I starting building it September last year. I made Version 2 in November i do believe. Version 3, I made March, changing to the arch ceilings (finally). That's using the Main Street scenery to "hide" the arch bases. (awesome set) I've been changing it to look more gothic. I'm still going through designs to try to get the best looking church I can get, hense all the versions of it. I'll probably continue to change it until I get the look I really like.
What I really like to have are columns similar to what I have, but can be built at any height. I would like to make the interior taller. This pic is me working on the next version of this project. Trying to get a good looking column.

Not sure how to improve it. I'll probably continue to work on it until Octomber this year. I would like to have it done by then for Holloween. I might have to settle on using Frameworks for the columns.
And yes, I already had an idea of a certain organ music for it and hidden speaker.

I originally wanted to make a room like these:
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/1351/organ5pm.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/107/organ26ar.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

The difference would be I needed the organ to be in the front of the room, not the back. It would have to have a second floor just for the organ.
But, as you can see, the room has to be much taller. So the original columns will not work, and nothing created so far, comes close. I'm hoping the Screamworkz might have some pieces I can use.

Wow. Saw Gord4L's new organ. It gave me a brain storm of how to fix my church. So.. tell me if you like the newest version.

Still have to play around with the lighting still.

Are we back to no comments on my threads? Here's what will probably be the final version.

I got very few comments on mine as well, most people just don't browse around a whole lot in this section of the forum or the scenarios/parks sections. That is a beautiful structure though, well modeled after those pictures.

I have to say, that's one stunning piece of architecture! Just fantastic, including the lighting, computertech82!

Thanks for the comments. I'm still trying to work on the outside of the church. Need stained glass windows to make it look awesome.

Absolutely gorgeous. I am very much in awe of anyone willing to put that much time into a single building, plus, I'm a sucker for Gothic architecture. :)

Stained glass would be real nice, but that organ does the job enough for me.

Thanks for the comments. I'm working on making stained glass windows for this church, including a Rose Windows. I have just moved, so I'm limited to computers at the moment. I'm hoping to be organized soon and continue the project. Should be able to make it look REALLY cool. Stay tuned...

Be able to make it look REALLY cool?
What does it do now then?

In my opinion it already looks FANTASTIC ! Especially the "choir" in the front of the curch. It looks so spooky that it's almost real :)
Keep it comming!

Can someone tell me where I can find the ultra-cool skeleton / ghouls that are in these screen shots? I've downloaded a lot of the custom scenery packs and have RCT3 Vanilla, Soaked! and Wild! but I can't seem to locate them. Could really use them for something I'm working on.
