View Full Version : Make your own scenario!

You can make a scenario that's just like sandbox, except you gotta work the financial end of it. Is kinda boring playing without possibly failing, right? Well, here's how to make that scenario.

Go to the scenario editor (you figgered that out already, right?)

Go down the list of options on the right side of the screen, and in each panel, look for the familiar icons.

Give yourself all the goodies, and nothing needs to be invented.

Set the peep excitement level to 35%. This will get 'em on all the rides.

Set the money to allow one loan of 20,0000. Give yourself 20,000 to start with.

Don't set any scenario objectives. This is not necessary.

Save the game, and go play it from the Play/Scenarios menu.

It's much more interesting this way. Use sandbox for making experiments, or making parks that you want to make videos of. If you wanna play without restrictions like sandbox but have to balance the budget, the above method works great.

?... i dont understand the point of this thread...
Me neither.

i think wht hes trying to sugest is that rather than being able to just build a super park there and then, by folowing his "instructions", a huge, blank area can be made but the park needs to work for progression...

No. The point is you aren't limited to the hills background. You are not limited to playing with unlimited money. You can do things with the scenario builder that approach being a sandbox. Playing in sandbox is very limiting, and not very challenging. You can slightly modify the settings of a sandbox, and make it so you have to earn money to build your park, by building your own with the scenario editor. You can set the backdrop or the weather, or both. You don't have to set scenario goals.

Use the scenario editor to make your own sandbox. You don't have to make a hard mission, and set scenario goals. Just change a few things. You have more opporunities by doing this.

Now whats so hard to understand about that?

the hard part to understand is why put it here... every user of rct is gona know about the scenario editor... its a pointless thred...

10-05-2007, 12:43 PM
Well, now. It's not pointless. Not everybody is an experienced user. New users don't know about the scenario editor and what it can do. I've told others on a different board about this, and like me, they are new users. They appreciate the info. But, you, Mr. Know it all, think it's pointless, when in fact others have found it helpful.

What's pointless is your attempt to make it pointless. That is only your opinion, and it's poorly founded. You didn't waste a lot of your time though. You only write one sentence at a time, like the hundreds of other posts here that are not helpful. And you didn't even check your one sentence for construction! You left out a word, and you spelled some wrong!

Get out of my, you little pip-squeak! You serve no practical function here at all! You come here to hang out, not help others grow! You only insult or write stupid one liners that reallyare pointless!

This thread is pointless.

This only aids people that are too lazy to go thru the tutorials. I know, there's no tutorial for scenario making but, still...people can figure out this stuff for themselves.

10-16-2007, 05:23 PM
This seems like a waste of time.

10-17-2007, 09:58 AM
Well, considering his number of posts...Lengo probably just wanted to look and feel important by posting a worthless tutorial which shoudn't even be in this Topic anyway.

Lengo, I have just read your initial post, and I thank you for it. I am new to RCT and had no idea about how to go about making my own Scenario, and this has helped a lot, keep them coming.

10-26-2007, 01:23 PM
Hey Lengo,

Dont listen to these ney sayers....

If everyone knew everything about everything this world would be very boring.

Do what you want to do, I personally think a scenerio editor tutorial would be a great idea, please expand it if you feel the desire. Perhaps use these ignorant comments to add to the tutorial and explain in greater detail what its all about. Make sure to add tons of details about goals and inventions. :)

By looking at this forum I see that not many people bother with creating scenerios. I am working on a large scenerio which I will post once I have fully tested it to make sure the goals are going to be reachable.

Also always remember that everyone is different and please ignore the trolls!

I agree with you Panther X. We are not all guru's in this, I for one am not, perhaps age is against me, so I really appreciate any help I can get. One other thing I would like to say, why is it that people can be so insensitive as to peoples needs. there is no need for anyone to be abusive.

Hey Lengo,

Dont listen to these ney sayers....

If everyone knew everything about everything this world would be very boring.

you need to be taught how to work scenerario editer, its not rocket science u can pretty much figure it out by urself,
theres no need for this tutorial.

You may be clever, but not everyone is, and I feel your attitude has a lot to be desired. If someone needs help, then why not give it, tell me what is wrong with that. Maybe someone is young and doesn't understand. I also take offence with your remarks. If this is the sort of thing that goes on in this forum, then I shall not be inclined to use it. I belong to several forums where we help each other, we do not belittle anyone.

This section of the forum is barren so I commend this mini tutorial idea. A lot of people new to RCT3 won't know where to start with the scenario editor because there is so much you can do with it. I HAVE noticed a fair few questions about the scenario editor in the help and tutorials forums.

I think it's a great idea. Having a sandbox to play with but only enough cash to get you started. It would be good to test out financial strategies for the proper game scenarios. Or just to see if you could build a park from scratch, keep it running and not go bust.

Building an actual working scenario is like designing a whole level that needs playtesting and tweaking and building a scenario that is challenging AND fun can be more difficult than you think.

I am writing an in depth scenario editor tutorial. Like where to start, how to set how much land is owned etc. When I have finished it i may post it in here.

10-26-2007, 09:13 PM
Yes, please do post it here.

I would love to play some user created scenarios and am really surprised that there are not more posted. I am sure some would be bad and even unplayable, possibly unbeatable but the gems (well designed and fun to play) would make the effort worth trying them all. /evillaugh

I just found the replicated parks from RCT1 and RCT2. I am looking forward to playing them :)

Oh and about the negativity of some people..
It happens occasionally with everyone and often with some, ignore them all.

My #1 personal rule about Online Forums...
Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but your typed words can't hurt me.

Hey Dark_side300, if your statement to me was true, tutorials would never be needed for anything because everyone could learn everything on their own. Perhaps you can figure out things by yourself, not everyone can do that.

10-27-2007, 04:38 AM
Panther X, if you go to www.rctgo.com (http://www.rctgo.com) you will find about 70 Scenarios and they work, plus there are about as many parks which can be used for the Scenarios. Someone else on this forum tried them and reported back about them. I think your comments were good. Thanks

10-27-2007, 10:34 AM

But true.

10-27-2007, 01:23 PM
Come on, the guy who wrote this is not even checking this thread, you are only fighting one against the others!

But i dont think this tut is pointless. :o

Some good thing to add would be how to make a larger park! ;)
