hey :) i have been bored the last days so i decided to make a coaster car, wich turned out to this:

Recolorable lights have been added at the front and then i fixed the sites so it looks wide're :)
It got 2 LOD's a non glossy texture when getting far away.

Very nice! I would definitely add the working headlight to the front much like on Thunderbolt at Kennywood.

This is really cool, I can't wait for the release!

There is a SIO texture for chrome I thought. You should AT LEAST make it bigger. Also the front part can be changed to a regular texture without having that big bump on the front. Awesome looking car none-the-less, good job!!

I dont know about the size yet, im going to make some "wheel covers " on the site to make it more wide.

From what I see you added about 6 faces to the car with the front face(the face with the lights that I refered to as the big bump). This could easily be changed by combining that face with the chrome face so it can be less polys. That is just my opinion though.

okay, i dont think 6 faces will be make a great difference, when it is only the front car that got the bump, Also the front car is only about 420 faces, so 6 faces added or removed ? :)

I'd just widen it and add the headlamps, congrats on getting it in game.

SIOpaqueChrome and SIOpaqueChromeModulate do not use textures, but a solid white (for bright Chrome) or a solid primary color (for Chrome Modulated by color).

To have a shiny texture, use a gloss reflection type.

Remember, when you plan on using special texture effects like chrome and reflections, it is essential to make other LODs that do not use it, otherwise you will be really overtaxing the graphics cards: reflective texture effects are mapping a new texture to the model "on-the-fly" as the vehicle moves.

To make another LOD model in the simplest way, click the D button in the Create Scenery window to duplicate the currect model, then edit the mesh settings in the duplicate and use another texture type. Now just select that model for the other LODs (the higher draw distances)... Making a lower polygon model to be used is also recommended, but if you're too lazy to do that, at least duplicate the main model and change the texture types for the larger draw distances.

Oh, and by the way, both chrome types are not illuminated at night- they appear as black (for most folks- different video cards might behave differently.)

These new cars coming out are AMAZING.
I haven't downloaded yet, but I'm thinking about it. I haven't tried CTR yet, but this might convince me.

Judging from the pictures, the cars look just a tad too narrow for the track. But hell, they're beautiful. If it's not fixed in the future, at least they're here. Fantastic work. Thank you.

Actually I would use the current model as a medium LOD and readd the details for the highest LOD, maybe even sculpting the lights a bit.
For the lowest LOD you could make all those walls a single plane with the double-sided option set.

These new cars coming out are AMAZING.

I have a problem with the LOD's

I made the OVL files so there 3 different LODS, when zooming the longest away from the train the front car should have flat sides and no "gril" texture but it messes up quite alot and theres only 2 LOD's? the same for the back cars, when taking the lowest setting the sites should get "paper thin" but it doesnt ?

When removing the details completely the "wagon" car comes up not the "Wagon Lowpoly". BTW it got the wrong texture i know, i fix that later.

/\ No I just have one car at 500 with that being the only LOD setting. I can get pretty far away with it just being at 500 so it's all good.

Your setting of 4000 means "draw maximum is 1000 RCT3 squares away" and the other LODs get adjusted accordingly.

Also, since we're not tweaking the object's size (SID settings) you might not be able to see the lowest LOD up close, you might need to get further away.

Just remember, that LOD value in Create OVL represents distance from model in modeling units. A Hight LOD of 32 means 8 RCT3 squares away at (I think) highest Detail setting AND highest draw distance.

Wow, I like your work very much. But after downloading and installing I got a problem when using your trains: the front car works quite fine, but on all of the following cars are missing textures. I tried different LOD options in the game, but it still doesn't work.

Could you make full size Century Flyer cars? They are just 6 seat versions of the ones you made already.

Obviously his behavior has gotten him banned. I hated it he signs up, the next day goes to install a ctr. Now due to his "newness" he is not familiar with the whole process, then it doesn't work. So he calls you a lyer (liar) before he even troubleshoots. Then with his nasty pottymouth he complains about the help and comments were giving to him. Well hes banned so we wont be hearing him again.
