Original Post:

If you didn't know that I am back and working on all my old projects well... I am.

I imagine those of you that saw my old ToT CFR models were pretty excited, so I have continued with that model, and it is in-game.

There are still a few glitches, for example...

The splines aren't quite working, and the peep effect points are oriented wrong.(how do I fix that?)

Also (I feel like an idiot now) I forgot to parent the effect points to the ride animations.

Any suggestions or comments, post them

looks good

04-05-2009, 03:33 PM
Good job, does it move or is it stationary?

04-05-2009, 03:34 PM
It moves, just right now the peeps don't:noob:

04-05-2009, 04:30 PM
Try rotating the car left? Great job though =)

04-05-2009, 04:51 PM
Gratz ,For getting it in game.

04-05-2009, 04:53 PM
looks good, hopefully you'll get through the glitches. I'm not too sure what to try as far as fixing it. So keep it going, and can't wait til its full release and future projects.

04-05-2009, 04:58 PM

fixed most of the problems:up:

but still got spline issues. release hopefully later this week

04-05-2009, 05:25 PM
Ohh this looks cool :D

04-05-2009, 05:32 PM
looks good... i cant wait to download it!

can you if you can post a video of it in action?

04-05-2009, 06:04 PM
yay, uum i think gadget or someone is workjin on the full enchalotta, the entire building as the ride or somethin, kjust a rumour..........................................................................................

04-05-2009, 06:24 PM
question: do splines need to be written in RCT3 coordinates/orientation, or modeller coordinates/orientation?

04-05-2009, 07:18 PM
try asking vodhim he's done some cfrs before

04-06-2009, 04:11 AM
One probleme, the last rank, one place misses in the middle :)

04-07-2009, 09:18 PM
The CFR is almaost ready for release...

I am looking at releasing it this Friday.

I have applied four camera angles...

I have only one apparent problem left... some peeps use splines from different rows to get to their row. For example a peep walks to row 2, goes to the position of his seat in row 2, then is teleported to his seat in row 1.

Any suggestions? Anything to fix it? Please help, it would be appreciated.
Comments welcome.

Video coming soon...
I did not upload the one I had because after I spent about two hours taping it, it nearly crashed my computer...

04-07-2009, 09:26 PM
AWESOME =) great WORK!

04-08-2009, 01:19 PM
Looks good ;)

04-09-2009, 06:13 AM
spline problem solved, release Friday!

04-09-2009, 06:41 AM
Ah. Very nice. Tower of Terror. Brings back memories. I went on Disney's California Adventure TOT the day it opened to the public. I am assuming this is the California Adventure one since 1) Your avatar is over Grizzly Rapids, and 2) that is the set you are working on.
It looks very nice. (Curious to see how this works.)
Are you planning on putting the front wall and door on it?

04-09-2009, 05:56 PM
Wow, this is amazing :p

04-09-2009, 06:24 PM
^^ Thank you, and I will not be adding anything more to he actual CFR. I decided to let the shaft be cs, 1, because it was less work and fewer polys for me and 2, it would allow the ride to be that little bit more customizable. I will be making the actual Tower of Terror shaft and scenery to be released soon after the ride and I will also release measurements and timing for cs makers looking to make a custom shaft for this ride:up:

^ Thanks

04-11-2009, 09:43 AM
I thought you said this was going to be released yesterday :p

04-11-2009, 09:54 AM
wow.. haha

04-11-2009, 11:01 AM
Today is Saturday

04-11-2009, 12:05 PM
Yes knux897, today is saturday for me too...

I did not release yesterday for a couple of reasons,

1) I didnt have enough time last night to get on the computer, pack it up, and upload it because I had school, then a two hour swim practice, then my family went to see a movie...

so by the time I got home my parents were making me go to bed.

2) I still am editing the timing of the ride to fit with my edited ToT ride soundtrack that is going to be released with my shaft pack hopefully this weekend. (this soundtrack is from VisionsFantasic.com , and is not from the DCA version of the ride, so if anyone could send me a DCA soundtrack or one of the other ToTs around the world that you may want I would be glad to edit it to fit my ride's timing.)

I am just finishing and testing the soundtrack, so release of the bare ToT car will hopefully be within the hour.

Thanks for being patient,

04-11-2009, 12:38 PM
I have a question..

How is this car going to work? is it going to go up and down or is it just gonna stay in place?

04-11-2009, 01:59 PM
Hey I have an mp3 of the entire ride at DCA if you want to use. It's not the crystal clear soundtrack they use on the ride but it's the cleanest thing I got. Let me know if you wanna use it

04-11-2009, 02:33 PM
^^ Yes, the car moves, but because there is no shaft around it, it is floating in air when it moves

^ I would love to have that file, as long as there is no external noise on the ride.

The ride is released! check first post.

04-11-2009, 02:40 PM
Congrats on importing your first CFR! You are now a legit rct3'r :p

Nicely done, Thatonekid :)

04-11-2009, 03:51 PM
well when I said it wasn't crystal clear I meant you can hear some voices at certain parts but its very faint. also you can hear screams of guests during the freefall portions and when the elevator is moving back toward the loading/unloading area. If you still want it let me know

04-11-2009, 04:28 PM
That's ok, as long as they're faint I don't think they will be a problem, and I can edit out the screams or coordinate them with the ride animation.

Yes I'd still like

04-11-2009, 05:56 PM
ok i downloaded the ride car but now where do i place it at?

04-11-2009, 06:03 PM
This is awsome. :D

04-11-2009, 07:25 PM
^^ Put the Custom folder inside the Style folder in your RCT3 Directory

04-11-2009, 07:36 PM
Looks Cool!

04-12-2009, 02:26 PM
Heres the soundtrack!

04-12-2009, 03:18 PM
Awesome, thanks!

The only problem I see is that there is no front of the car. Meaning there should be a fence like thing keeps the riders inside the car. I'm sure you know what im talking about if you have been on the ride :)

By the way, do you mind posting a video of it? I can't use RCT3 right now and would love to see what this looks like in action!

05-10-2009, 01:53 PM
the current released CFR was actually kind of a beta, so I am still working on it. The next version I release will have the shaft and the doors on the front of the car... as far as a video, I'll make one for the soon to be released version.

Coaster Freak
05-10-2009, 01:58 PM
Ok, cool! Good luck!

05-10-2009, 01:59 PM
thanks !!!!!

05-16-2009, 01:23 PM
I think it is known that there is still work on this, but for those who didnt know, there is.

I have almost finished a version of the California Tower of Terror with the shaft this time. (Itried to make the shaft as cs, but getting the timing was too hard)

here is a pic of the ghost hallway. The wall texture doesnt look very good in the dark, so i am going to edit it but...

Hopefully everone likes...

05-16-2009, 01:25 PM
Wow, i really like that and i am looking forward to see more of it.

Off Topic: Did you get my PM about some help with some CFR on here.

05-16-2009, 01:28 PM
^yeah I did, not sure how I could help a whole lot though...

05-16-2009, 01:30 PM
^yeah I did, not sure how I could help a whole lot though...

I think the help they need was with the rides ie the seats and everything else, and i thought that you would be the best person to give them some advice about it.

05-16-2009, 01:34 PM
alright, I'll see what I can do

05-16-2009, 01:42 PM
This will be absolutely fantastic if you can pull it off

05-16-2009, 01:47 PM
thatonekid, I re-released my Hollywood Tower Hotel to fit your elevator shaft. Try using it if you want instead of going through the trouble of making your own. just suggesting.

Coaster Freak
05-16-2009, 01:49 PM
That looks great! One suggestion.

For the inside of the shaft, you should just make four long bars that "Hold" the car in place that go from the very top of the shaft to the very bottom. This way we can use what ever walls for the inside of the shaft, and the four bars that "Hold" the car in place will show us where the top of the shaft ends and where the bottom starts.

I really can't wait to see this in action!

05-16-2009, 03:28 PM
^^ The shaft and rooms are now built into the ride, so all anyone needs to do is build the hotel around it.

^ I have right now black walls around the shaft, which I can remove from the ovl if people want, but bars would be pointless because no one would see them when riding the ride... or looking in form the outside

The bars are meant not to be seen.. they show where to place the walls and how high to raise them so they know how large the tower should be.

Also, it would be nice if you could remove the black walls ;) I like textured walls more. That way if someone wants different walls, or something, they can :)

05-16-2009, 03:48 PM
I see... The bars would still be unnecessary, though because 1.) the shutters of the openings in the shaft mark the top and the ground marks the bottom and 2.) I can reverse the black faces so that they cannot be seen from inside the shaft. Only other thing is, the doors to the mirror room and hallway are animated, so they will have to be part of the cfr and thus black, so... you get where I'm going

Coaster Freak
05-16-2009, 03:53 PM
Oh I see.. Hmm.

I Would it be possible to make the black walls thin? Thin enough to place another wall over it if someone wanted to?

05-16-2009, 04:02 PM
Yes, they are only 1 face each

Coaster Freak
05-16-2009, 04:03 PM
Yes, they are only 1 face each
Oh ok, cool.

I'm looking forward to using it :)

Edit: My computer is working again and I downloaded it... I have to say that I wasn't impressed. I can't make one of these, but I have seen better. I can't remember the name but someone made a small drop ride that was very smooth and nice. This stops abruptly, and when it drops just about as fast as a regular elevator. I hope the complete release is "Fixed Up" a little better. ;)

05-25-2009, 12:25 PM
wow, you are still going at this! I loved the original CFR, i think that one is good enough! If you try to do the whole thing you'll probably never finish. just focus on the timing in the shaft and the movements of the elevator and trust us to build the rest. ;)

05-25-2009, 03:49 PM
could you made it as a CTR?

06-21-2009, 01:14 PM
I loved your ride!!! Its a great help for my parks! however...How can I trigger the animations? There is no rides track so the problem is that I cant activate doors and animations. Anyone knows how can I be able to activate them when the elevator reaches each floor? thanks!!

06-21-2009, 01:32 PM
well, thats why I am making the next version with the doorsand everything as in California adventure. I will probably then start work on a Florida version, and (possibly) once custom tracks become possible, a ctr.

06-22-2009, 09:09 PM
I do know what's wrong with what I'm doing. I have tried placing the file in both rct3/style and rct3/style/themed. What am I missing?

06-22-2009, 09:36 PM
The folder "Custom" should go in RCT3\Style

06-23-2009, 04:08 PM
Thanks, I was able to figure everything out. I do have one question about the upcoming version. Will it be adjusted so that the elevator moves forward at the highest level like the track at DHS in Orlando?

This one appeared to be based off DCA, which is why I was wondering if 2.0 will be tailored for DHS.

06-23-2009, 04:35 PM
Is the version with the event show stunts built in released?

06-23-2009, 05:46 PM
^^ Version 2.0 is still based off of DCA, as I think I said before...
but after it is released (which it is not yet, Plokoon111) I will begin work on the DHS version.

RCT3 Ride Maker
07-29-2009, 01:13 PM
For version 2.0, could you please make it have a visible track and not be pre-programed to go in the ride track? I want to create my own ride with this, not just Tower of Terror.

07-29-2009, 04:38 PM
um, this is a CFR

custom Flat ride. there is no track, it has to be preprogrammed.

i have said before, once custom track are possible, i will release this as a cTr with my models as track pieces, then u can take the car ovl and do watever u want with it.
