Does anyone know how to make Custom Rides with Sketchup? Could you post some links? I have heard about making bones with the text icon, but I have no idea what that means. :bulb:

Thanks :)

If you familiarize yourself with the rest of CS making and more advanced items before just hopping in and making a CTR, you would know what that meant. Look through Surfingoz's CS tutorials, especially under benches and stalls where the text tool is used often: Click (http://tpb3d-unleashed.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=38:all-things-custom&Itemid=67&layout=default)

Thanks for the link, I can already tell its going to help me with wonders!

Im not really new to cs making, I am just new to rides and animated models! I need all the help I can get. :)

This is the static model I am trying to make into a ride 8)

that looks really high poly!

It is :D. I think it has 3100 or something like that. I want to make two shuttles take off together. One in front of the other, and that would be the one in front 8) Then I want one behind it where the only view is from the cockpit. But so far I am having no luck at all

You really need to reduce those polys.
But this looks interesting.

I gave it the high polys because I am only going to have one or two on the map at a time and I want them to look their best! ;)

You want to make something that is not high in polys, so something like a CFR, but i do like what i have seen so far.

I have finally created ovl file for my space shuttle with the bones.

These helped a lot!

http://www.rct-3.org/content/de/rct-...downloads.html (http://www.rct-3.org/content/de/rct-...downloads.html)

Now I am working on CTR creator 0.75, but I keep getting a wierd error message when I try to create the car. The worst part is it is in German and I have no clue what it means...

I fixed that problem! but now the game is crashing when I install the custom ride, I know it is something wrong I am doing with the name of the Custom car, but I don't know what it is.

The name of the custom car is CTR_spaceshuttle.common.ovl

Is this correct? When I don't add the spaceshuttle, it doesnt crash... 8(

You need to put "CTR_spaceshuttle" instead of "spaceshuttle" as the CarTypeName and that should fix it.

3100 polys is way too high for something that will be used on a track! plus have you defined the wheel bones and is it the right size to fit with the track youre using?? is it grouped by texture also because that looks alot like sketchup materials to me

I suggest you (and everyone) to put your name into the name of the OVL files. A spaceshuttle was one of many projects I tried/started. If had named it CTR_spaceshuttle too, yours would be overwriting mine.

thanks a lot, Ill give it a shot!

My original goal was to make a space shuttle that didn't fit on the track because the track is going to be invisible and the shuttle is going to be the actual size of a real space shuttle. It is fully grouped with textures too 8) What do I do to lower faces on rounded objects? like the circles? Thanks for the help!

Good point, definately will do!

YAY, I finally got my first custom ride in the game but it was backwards, so I remade the ovl files through the importer, but now when I try to make the car files in CTR_Creator Version 0.75, I get this error message saying...

"Zugriffsverletzung bei adresse 004F133C in Modul' CTR_Creator V.075.exe'. Lesson Con adresse 00000012"

Before this message I was getting an error message about ""Fehler188! Dar Dateinamedereingelesenen luigispaceshuttlev1 OVLs entspricht nicht dem internen Objektname (:SVD)"

Anyone know what it is saying? Thanks

We had this problem a few days ago. You renamed the OVLs. You mustn't do that because they refer to each other and they have structures in them which have the name of the OVL when you saved it.

once youve extruded them from a 2D object it becomes VERY Hard, basically when you first create the circle you rioght clock on the edge and go to entity info and then change the segments to around 12 but since you have modelled it it will be very hard, also every curve you have used has 12 or 24 edges making it very high poly

ok, on the space shuttle boosters, I could easily remake those. Ill give it a shot.

I looked up what this means in english "Der Dateiname der eingelesenen luigispaceshuttlev1 OVLs entspricht nicht dem internen Objektname" It means "The file name of the read in LUIGISPACESHUTTLEV1 OVLs does not correspond to the internal object name"

And this means... "Zugriffsverletzung bei adresse 004F133C in Modul' CTR_Creator V.075.exe'. Lesson Con adresse 00000012" "Access injury in address 004F133C in module' CTR_Creator V.075.exe'. Lesson Con address 00000012"
